Initially this conditioner made my hair feel incredible, the thick formula made my hair feel super soft and made it feel really nice after drying as well! But unfortunately after a few uses my hair became very immune to it and so I didn't get as good a result as I did in the first few washes. Alongside the shampoo my hair colour didn't fade but I think there are better things out there for a similar price if not cheaper

This def did colour protect my hair, after using it for a tonne of washes but it did leave my hair feeling stripped and dry.
I got this as a trial product yay !!!! :D i hope I get more opportunities in the future, but thank you so much BR.
The bottle is an averaged sized bottle, and it doesn't really have a smell to it, it is also white in colour. This does do what it says it does, colour protect. Because I die my hair, and some shampoo and conditioners strip the colour from my hair, and I can tell it does this because when I wash it out the bubbles are not white, whereas this one remains white when I wash it out. Though this did leave my hair feeling quite dry
I have coloured hair that is wavy and can become dry and frizzy at times. L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Conditioner was great because took care of the issues that I have with my hair and it does everything it said it would do. After using this product in conjunction with the L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo, my hair seemed more radiant and shiny and I also had a few people comment on the colour of my hair as well.
I also enjoyed the smell. It's kind of florally and the colour of the bottle is a bright bold red which is a visual bonus for the bathroom. The bottle is also easy to hold and is quite ergonomic overall.
I would buy this product again but found I got the full benefits of this product when using in conjunction with the L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo and then using a L'Oréal hair mask once a week.
Tips: Tips: Use in conjunction with the L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo and a good quality hair mask once a week for the full benefits.
Love the colour protect conditioner made my hair feel soft and very smooth, I found it easy to put a comb through my hair after being washed, a great price and very happy to purchase this product again, didn't make my hair feel greasy and I got two days with smooth easy to care hair. Love the fact that the conditional bottle was a different way to the shampoo bottle so you could tell the difference between conditioner and shampoo.
So I have been trialling this conditioner for the past two weeks and I can say it actually works. I dyed my hair just to make the most of this product and of course for a change and it has actually stayed, the colour still looks as though I dyed it yesterday it is still vibrant so obviously this products works. Also the scent and texture of the product is very good with an easy to use bottle. I would definitely recommend.
Used with the L'Oréal Elvive colour protect conditioner this is a great combination. I'm a big fan of using conditioner and this one leaves my hair feeling soft and shiny and manageable. I normally mix up my shampoos and conditioners between supermarket and salon brands each week as if I use a certain brand for too long my hair gets used to it. This conditioner stops my hair from feeling like straw! :-) I definitely recommend it.
DISCLOSURE: This is very similar to the shampoo review, I am sorry for this but I personally find it quite hard to review these two products on their own. They are products that I think should be used together. I am never one to mix and match my shampoos and conditioners.
This is my first review that I have ever done on a conditioner. Im never usually too fussed about what brand I get as I think they all do the same. As long as it smells good and it doesnt leave me hair feeling oily Im all for it. I dye my hair with a box dye.... Naughty, I know! But Im lucky with being a brunette as I find its easier to maintain. Here are some bullet points on this conditioner, hopefully they will help you girls that are more intuned to your hair, unlike me :) x
* Im all about information, I love to know the special key notes that are one the bottles. What I first noticed was NEW 80% of colour preserved after 28 washes. I unfortunately haven’t used this product that many times to see if this fact is 100% true, I have maybe done 8 or so washes (I always shampoo and condition my hair at the same time). I usually only wash my hair 3 times a week, but I tried my hardest to wash it at least every second day to put it to the test! So far I am pretty pleased with how well the colour has lasted. Its only lightened in the roots slightly, I did get my hair cut (washed and conditioned etc) inbetween this process so that proberbly doesnt help but even then I have found that it still looks almost freshly done. Im curious to see how long its going to last ;). Another key note that stuck out to me was that it does have UVA and UVB filters in this product, I have never noticed this on any other brands of conditioner (correct me if Im wrong) but I am a big sucker for any protection against the UV rays!!! Who shouldnt be!! This technology is proberbly what has helped my colour last longer as all us brunettes know the sun is a pain at lightening our hair, especially if we are wanting to acheive a nice rich deep colour! So Im all for that!
* The packaging is the only thing that bothers me, if only the base of it was a bit thinker so that its not so easy to fall over in the shower. For some reason that annoys the living day lights out of me, I like products that can stand their own in the shower! :P The smell of this product is very similar to the shampoo, nothing to overpowering it just has a nice fresh and slightly floral scent to it.
Overall I find this condition complements the shampoo nicely. It has helped to keep the colour lasting longer in my hair while giving the nourishment it needs without being too oily. Im still going to persist with these products and see if the 28 washes thing is true.. :) I hope this has been helpful for you all, wether you are a hair product junky or not too bothered with your hair just like me. Its always good to try something new :)
Tips: If your anything like me and your hair produces enough oil in a day but isnt enough to nourish your hair after youve shampooed it then just apply conditioner to the ends and make sure it doesnt come any higher than your ear level. This way the roots wont get too oily and your ends will remain nice and nourished. However I have found with this particular conditioner that my roots dont get as oily if I was to apply it everywhere, but everyones different so its at your own risk to try it or not! :P x
The ELVIVE range is definitely my go to supermarket shampoo and conditioner range. I absolutely love, love, love this product - it has definitely beat my salon brand conditioner!
Majority of Supermarket conditioners tend to make my hair feel super oily... not the ideal thing when you already have naturally oily hair and want it to look refreshed. I found that the Colour Protect conditioner was a fabulous and nourishing product. It conditioned my hair, protected it and made it look soft and silky.
I found that my colour looked brighter after using it, it didn't get as brassy or faded after washing my hair - I didn't find that colour was falling out when I was washing it.
I absolutely love the packaging.. It's so sleek and modern - Looks great in my bathroom! I also really enjoyed the scent.. I find that supermarket conditioners smell so harsh - but this was light and floral. Absolutely perfect!
I would definitely recommend this to a friend, and I will be continuing with using this product and trying out others in the range - think I might give the Total Repair a go next!
I bought this for two reasons. My 1st was that it smelt really nice and secondly, I bought this straight after I got my hair coloured. The Conditioner lasted me for 6-7months, and I stopped using as I got a bad case of dandruff. I really liked how it made my hair smelt and felt. After using this, my hair was left feeling light, soft, easy to manage, however I didnt really see my hair colour staying longer than normal. I bought this for $12.00 from Souls Hairdressing and probably wouldnt use it again. The packaging is what attracted me to the product, very sleek and eye catching.
I have been using this product in conjunction to the shampoo of the same range. I found the texture to be great it wasn't too thick nor too runny, glided through the hair nicely. I found the scent to be rather pleasant and it did leave my hair smelling lovely. I have ombre hair so the blonde parts of my hair is quite damaged and I found that this product has helped make it feel stronger. My colour doesn't appear to have faded at all while using this product and it leaves a great shine on my hair once dry. I would recommend buying this range as it is super affordable and does exactly what it says it will.
