Initially this conditioner made my hair feel incredible, the thick formula made my hair feel super soft and made it feel really nice after drying as well! But unfortunately after a few uses my hair became very immune to it and so I didn't get as good a result as I did in the first few washes. Alongside the shampoo my hair colour didn't fade but I think there are better things out there for a similar price if not cheaper

DISCLOSURE: This is very similar to the shampoo review, I am sorry for this but I personally find it quite hard to review these two products on their own. They are products that I think should be used together. I am never one to mix and match my shampoos and conditioners.
This is my first review that I have ever done on a conditioner. Im never usually too fussed about what brand I get as I think they all do the same. As long as it smells good and it doesnt leave me hair feeling oily Im all for it. I dye my hair with a box dye.... Naughty, I know! But Im lucky with being a brunette as I find its easier to maintain. Here are some bullet points on this conditioner, hopefully they will help you girls that are more intuned to your hair, unlike me :) x
* Im all about information, I love to know the special key notes that are one the bottles. What I first noticed was NEW 80% of colour preserved after 28 washes. I unfortunately haven’t used this product that many times to see if this fact is 100% true, I have maybe done 8 or so washes (I always shampoo and condition my hair at the same time). I usually only wash my hair 3 times a week, but I tried my hardest to wash it at least every second day to put it to the test! So far I am pretty pleased with how well the colour has lasted. Its only lightened in the roots slightly, I did get my hair cut (washed and conditioned etc) inbetween this process so that proberbly doesnt help but even then I have found that it still looks almost freshly done. Im curious to see how long its going to last ;). Another key note that stuck out to me was that it does have UVA and UVB filters in this product, I have never noticed this on any other brands of conditioner (correct me if Im wrong) but I am a big sucker for any protection against the UV rays!!! Who shouldnt be!! This technology is proberbly what has helped my colour last longer as all us brunettes know the sun is a pain at lightening our hair, especially if we are wanting to acheive a nice rich deep colour! So Im all for that!
* The packaging is the only thing that bothers me, if only the base of it was a bit thinker so that its not so easy to fall over in the shower. For some reason that annoys the living day lights out of me, I like products that can stand their own in the shower! :P The smell of this product is very similar to the shampoo, nothing to overpowering it just has a nice fresh and slightly floral scent to it.
Overall I find this condition complements the shampoo nicely. It has helped to keep the colour lasting longer in my hair while giving the nourishment it needs without being too oily. Im still going to persist with these products and see if the 28 washes thing is true.. :) I hope this has been helpful for you all, wether you are a hair product junky or not too bothered with your hair just like me. Its always good to try something new :)
Tips: If your anything like me and your hair produces enough oil in a day but isnt enough to nourish your hair after youve shampooed it then just apply conditioner to the ends and make sure it doesnt come any higher than your ear level. This way the roots wont get too oily and your ends will remain nice and nourished. However I have found with this particular conditioner that my roots dont get as oily if I was to apply it everywhere, but everyones different so its at your own risk to try it or not! :P x
I brought this with the Shampoo in the same range. It was on special at the supermarket and I needed a new set after running out of my current salon ones.
It comes in a shiny red bottle with a flip top lid. The texture is medium in consistency and has a pleasant smell to it. I use this twice a week on the ends of my hair and leave it on for at least a few minutes. After use my hair is soft and has less knots however I'm not sure how much colour protection it gives my hair as colour still washes down the drain.
I will probably not repurchase again and go back to my usual.
Helps maintain vibrancy of hair colour & also leaves hair feeling soft. The consistency is thick like a mask almost. Indifferent on the scent, floral type
That's what my hair felt like after the first wash. I have my hair coloured every six to eight weeks so keen to see if this product will help lock in my colour for longer. So far so good! I figure this will pay for itself if it means I can extend my colour appointments out by a week or two :).
Tips: You don't need to use much to get a nice silky result and I tend to avoid putting conditioner on the roots, focusing more on the ends and from half way down.
My review for the conditioner is very similar to that of the Shampoo. :)
It smelt amazing and lathered into the hair very well. After washing it out I found my hair to be nice and soft, but unfortunately the softness didn't last as long as some of the other more nourishing conditioners I have used.
Over the next couple of uses my color was staying nice and blonde and no brassy tones were to be found! SO it proved to be protecting the coloring in my hair. I reckoned mixing this up with some more nourishing conditioners will be a great addition to my routine :)
I was really excited that I got on the trail for the L'Oréal Colour Protect Shampoo & Conditioner as I get blonde highlights in my hair every 8 weeks or so.
I can't really tell if either product made a difference with protecting my colour, the product may have even slightly darkened the blonde. I’m one of those ladies that washes my hair every day (don’t judge me) so this could have been due to the product building up or overuse?????
The smell is pleasant and my hair was left feeling fresh and clean. You can’t miss the eye catching bright red bottles either.
Chances are I won’t be buying the shampoo again but will continue on with the conditioner as I usually have a tough time with tangles however after using the conditioner my hair was way easier to manage, soft and smooth.
I was excited to be counted as a reveiwer for this as i have always dyed my hair but i havnt actually dyed my hair in a good month or so but im still impressed with it, for the most part it has given me a nice shine and looks alot more healthy, when usually my hair colour looks washed out and gross. I found a little goes a long way and the smell is amazing even my boyfriend likes the smell :D i think this is a good product for hair that has been dyed to keep it looking fresh and healthy :)
Tips: Dont use to much or your hair will end up gluggy and look oily use about a 50 cent coin size for your ends and up to your roots as a little can and will go a long way and it can help oily looking roots :) i will def be using this product in summer when i go to the beach :) itl help keep my hair looking good :)
So i was given the opportunity to try this product along with the ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo. There is little scent to the conditioner which although i like to have a lovely scent to my hair, the shampoo scent sufficed. I colour my hair regularly and as time passed, I didnt really notice anything special, until a class mate asked me if my hair had been recently done again? i said no, she commented how it looked good and the colour was brighter. (my hair is lightened and i had no toner left, so was nice to see that people noticed my hair was lighter and brighter as opposed to darker and dull looking which is not the effect we want when lightening my hair). Made my day that comment.
Also i wash my hair often and with my frizzy/curly/wavy confused type of hair i noticed after a few washes my hair did start to settle down bit. I have to wash my hair nearly everyday, blow dry and straighten, because of appearances within my profession, and found my hair has no damage, still looks healthy, no built up residue, and im also someone who NEEDS to change hair products as "although not proven" if i use one thing too much my hair starts getting oily and yuck. i havent yet experienced this yet using Elvive, so ill be buying another bottle of the shampoo and conditioner, because im happy with the condition of my hair.
I have been using this product, daily, for the last week.
I have crazy purple hair at the moment, and normally it is coloured some awesome colour, so I am always on the look out for a product that will help keep my colour for longer. No one wants to spend money on a colour, only for it to fade within days!
It comes in a cool red container, which really stands out amongst all my other bottles hanging out in the shower out the moment. It is such a great price too!
My purple has maintained over this last week, which is great! A conditioner that helps hold colour without costing me a fortune! loving it! My hair feels nice and smooth and healthy, and has a touch of shine to it! This conditioner does everything it says it will! I will definitely continue using this product :)
Tips: You dont have to use a lot of this product for it to do it's job! Bonus!
