Ok so I waited til I had dyed my hair fresh to start this review. I always have trouble with red fading, so went for a red ombre. After just over a week of use, I see no difference than using a normal shampoo. The colour is noticeably washing out and fading... I may as well have put a rinse through my hair!! The black in my hair is fine though. I do like the way my hair feels after using the shampoo and conditioner, hence why I would use it again, just not for the purpose its advertised for. This conditioner does make my hair feel really soft and smooth, I really like it!! It just doesnt lock in colour

This conditioner on first impression had a lovely creamy consistency that I really enjoyed. It felt very nourishing and thick to apply which I quite like in a conditioner as I feel like it's really coating and moisturing my hair. The scent, like the shampoo, wasn't my favourite. I think this could be improved on.
The other reason I would probably think twice about purchasing these is that I quite like more natural beauty products & I feel like that's the direction many consumers are opting for these days. The packaging, while very stylist, doesn't look very 'natural' which could affect consumer's decision to choose this product over a more natural alternative. It would be great to have a product that had all the benefits of this one, but was made from natural ingredients.
Tips: Make sure you really do leave it 5 minutes for the products to really activate and nourish your hair before rinsing.
I was lucky enough to get picked to trial the L'Oreal Paris Elvive colour protect Shampoo and conditioner. I was really impressed to get given full size bottles to trial. I have used this shampoo and conditioner for the last two weeks so this is my review on them. Opening up the bottles, the first thing you notice is the scent, it smells soooo amazing! The product says that it will seal in colour, protect hair and prolong radiance. I do feel that it does lock in colour, I have noticed that my hair has not faded since using this product. In saying that, I only coloured my hair a week or so ago, so will have to keep using to really see if the product lives up to what it says. I did notice that my hair got oily pretty quickly though, pretty much the next day, so even though my hair fits with the colour protect this shampoo and conditioner might not be suited for oily hair types. I would use this again if I had run out of my normal shampoo as it is an okay shampoo and conditioner.
Tips: Don't use if you have oily hair
I like this better than other drug store conditioners but I didnt love it. I have coloured red hair so when I wash it with any shampoo and conditioner I loose colour so I didnt notice the colour lock so much but I did find this product very moisturizing and It smells so good!
Tips: Just leave the conditioner in for as long as possible
Mmmm, I was a bit ho-hum about this product unfortunately! I colour my hair frequently so it can get a little dry and I guess I just expected more of a nourishing conditioner rather than just a colour protect product. I am not sure I would try this product again.
Tips: Maybe use a colour nourishing mask once a week on top of using this product may boost the shine?
Would not purchase this once the bottle is empty. Makes my hair dry and frizzy and does not do me any good. I was hoping it would work wonders on my coloured hair restore back the moisture lost from dyeing it once a month. Pity though as it is really affordable and smells great.
I used the conditioner after the shampoo and it immediately made my hair feel soft and smooth. After drying my hair looked great, really shiny and bright. However, the next day my hair felt greasier than normal, so I tried using less conditioner, but still the same next time.
Tips: A little goes a long way.
This product is on point for smell and texture. You only need to use the tiniest amount to feel as though you are getting the benefits of a decent conditioner. Colour protect? I doubt it, I have since darkened my hair after going blonde and was hoping for a product that would help the colour stick a little better to admittedly porous hair strands. No luck here though! I can't complain, for something at the lower end of the price range it is certainly not bad. I just don't think it lives up to its promise.
Tips: Be very careful of how much you use! I found that it is very hard to wash out without feeling 'slimy' if you use too much.
First Impressions 1. Colour of Bottle Great so stands out 2. At least the conditioner bottle stands with the wider end at the base so doesn't fall over and the opening is at the bottom so you can get the last bit out. :) 3. Smell was great again felt like you were in a salon.
So on first use, loved the consistancy and thickness of the conditioner, felt nice on application counteracting the stripping feeling of the shampoo.
Felt great while wet. Once dry I felt that it left my blonde ends feeling dry even though it had a nice shine.
Overall it left my hair shiny, but feeling dry and puffy.
Just some back ground on my hair it had been coloured 2 weeks prior to using this product Dark at roots and blonde ends. My hair is of medium thickness.
I couldn't say 100% that it protected my colour and hair.
Helps maintain vibrancy of hair colour & also leaves hair feeling soft. The consistency is thick like a mask almost. Indifferent on the scent, floral type
