I got this product on trial along with the shampoo. I have high hair care standards, so am always sceptical when trying new products. But I must say this conditioner was a pleasant surprise. From the first wash I started noticing my hair (especially my very long and damaged ends) were softer and looked healthier. This is a big concern for me as having dyed my hair so much its quite damaged along the ends. Colour wise I noticed a difference of sorts. Its true my colour doesnt seem to be fading as much, but neither this or the shampoo enhanced my colour/made it look any shinier which was a shame. In saying that though I love the way my ends are feeling, so because of that its a product I would consider buying again!

As I said in my matching review, I'm a Pantene girl with an occasional swap to Dove. Generally I'm not fussy about the shampoo I use, but I'm VERY anal about my conditioner!! My hair is down towards my waist, and I go through at least 5x more conditioner than shampoo. First off, I REALLY liked the consistency of the conditioner. Its more like a paste, which means when I apply it to the ends of my hair (where its needed most) it stays there, rather than turning watery and getting washed/dripping away. Thats a BIG win in my book. I didn't mind the smell. As for colour protecting, well my dye didn't come out when I rinsed it all out? If they implying long term colour protection from the sun, then thats a wait and see thing. So far, I'm tied between buying more of this or Pantene when the bottle is gone. So thats a really good thing! I find a new brand of conditioner generally feels fantastic for the first dozen applications, its after that period that you get a true test. As I previously said, this is the first conditioner that will stay on the ends of my hair without dripping off. Usually I end up reapplying several times while I'm waiting for it to cook in the shower lol. I also feel because it is more paste like, that it could be more concentrated?
Im just way more impressed with it than I expected to be. I'm such a conditioner snob that even a lot of the salon stuff doesn't cut it for me. Since I do have such long thick hair, its very important that I have a good conditioner to look after it.
Tips: Take advantage of the paste consistency and make a point of applying directly to the ends of your hair after squeezing excess moisture out. :)
Firstly like my shampoo review, I love the packaging it really stands out on the supermarket shelf and especially love that the lid is on the bottom so you get every last drop out of the bottle. The conditioner is a really thick consistency almost mask like, it is super moisturising formula and like the shampoo smells AMAZING. I still noticed a slight fade in my colour, but it left my hair super shiny and soft. Overall Definitely a product I will be purchasing again
I've been using the Elvive Colour Protect shampoo and conditioner for about 3 months now and I'm really happy with the colour protection of this cheap supermarket range. As I use semi-permanent colours in my hair, and change them often, I've found this is a cheap solution to hang on to my colour a little longer and to lock moisture in to my damaged hair. The smell and texture of this conditioner is lovely and makes it feel far more expensive and luxurious than it is. My hair is also very long and knotty and I've found it is helping with those tangles, especially when teamed with the other products in the Elvive range.
Tips: Follow up the conditioner with the Elvive Total Repair 5 Instant Miracle treatment- same amazing smell and it leaves your hair feeling so silky soft! The conditioning spray is also really good for keeping the tangles away.
I've noticed the appearance of my hair after using this continuously for two weeks. This conditioner deeply penetrates into my dry and damaged hair. My hair feels soft and silky after the first week and it helps to enhanced my newly colored hair. The consistency of this conditioner is thick which allows me to use only a little and it goes a long way.
Tips: I washed my hair twice with the L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo for extra deep cleansing and apply the conditioner to the ends of my hair and leave it for about 5-10 mins before washing it off.
As a match for the shampoo, I loved this conditioner. It smells great, and left my hair feeling wonderfully soft and healthy. It's creamy and I didn't need a lot of it to go through my hair. My hair feels great for longer than usual after this conditioner so I wouldn't hesitate to use it again.
My conditioner review is going to be quite similar to my shampoo review since I've been using them together, The first thing I usually do with shampoo and conditioner is have a good sniff. It smells rich and like it would be nourishing. I think it smells a lot nicer than the shampoo. It comes in a 250ml bottle, so it's a decent size. I like the shape of the bottle but there is a lot of information on the packaging but it still looks nice sitting in the corner of the shower!
It's a thick creamy consistency and a little goes a long way but I'm still in the habit of using far too much as I've got more shampoo left than conditioner... I leave it on for about 3 minutes while I'm washing my face. I've also woken up a few times with a birds nest and used a bit in my hair before getting in the shower to get rid of knots and tangles which worked really well.
I have a red hair colour in at the moment by directions and I haven't noticed any major difference in fade times but it does leave my hair feeling so clean and shiny. I think it would be better suited to someone with a permanent colour in.
There was a day in the last three weeks (bad) that I didn't straighten my hair and left it to dry naturally and it did go very fluffy.
Usually my head is very oily so I wash my hair daily and for the first time ever I have been able to wash it every second day. That is why I will be buying it again!
Tips: Use with the colour protect shampoo
Oh my my my my. I am a constant user of supermarket brand shampoo and conditioners. When this fell into my hands, I didn't expect wonders but boy was I wrong. This conditioner has made my hair incredibly smooth! It is so silky. This is what I imagine a Unicorn's mane to feel like! It made my hair shine too like a diamond! The colour of my hair came alive in a pretty chocolate brown colour instead of the dull brown it has faded to. This has claimed a well deserved spot in my shower!
Tips: Don't forget to use the L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo before hand for the ultimate shine experience.
A: Two months ago… In late May I had my hair dyed a beautiful ombre from dark brown into dark caramelly blonde on the ends – the most blonde I have had since I was a goldilocked toddler. I immediately noticed that my hair was drier and harder to brush – so I was thrilled to get a place in the Elvive Colour Protect Trial.
Details: Cost? supermarkets sell them for $5 a bottle (not on special)
Packing? The packaging looks expensive - like youve brought it from a salon - everyones gotta love a little luxury!
Smell? Not too purfumey – quite typical of other conditioners
Feel/Consistency? Nice and thick for a conditioner – you can feel all the goodness in the formula when its in your hand (or I imagined I could at least) – reminds me of the consistency of a good conditioning treatment
Results? Only TWO applications of the combo (Shampoo + Conditioner) and I had 3 people in one day say – “hey, did you do something to your hair?” – I was so happy!! I found the conditioner made my hair, shinier, easy to brush, and it must have done SOMETHING to the colour as I had more people notice my ombre than when I had it done in May! My hair is really long so i do need to use more conditioner than shampoo (first world problems) but i will totally buy some more when i run out of my free trial!
3 weeks of using this combo and my hair is so healthy - im looking forward to my next dye job so i can protect the colour with this combo from the very beginning!
Tips: Try and concentrate on the length and ends - this is where conditioner should sit the most!
I thought this was great! I used it daily for a week, and didn't notice any fade, which is amazing, since I have a reverse ombre that I'm trying really hard to preserve! I find that shampoo is most important when it comes to preserving colour, as anything too harsh just strips my hair instantly. My hair didn't feel "squeaky clean" after this shampoo, which I like. I thought this was on par with expensive salon shampoos I've tried for preserving colour. I'd definitely buy this again.
Tips: You'll love this if you like a shampoo that leaves your hair smelling gorgeous all day!
