I'll admit it, upfront...I'm a cheapskate. I'll buy the cheapest brand that promises the results I want and expect them to deliver....and they usually don't. I remember an older version of Elvive from when it was a 'salon only' product and I used to use it when I stayed at my mum and dad's place...and used to steal it off my mum :)
I wouldn't usually fork out to buy Elvive so I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it. It smelt amazing and left my hair silky and smooth- and really glossy. I usually use a protein product to add a bit of moisture to my hair but I actually didn't need it after using this product. I colour my hair myself and definately need an extra boost for my ageing hair! I would buy this (maybe on special?!) again for sure!
I am a huge fan of loreal shampoos and this was no exception. I have used quite a few in their range and never been disappointed. This one I would use again.. but I have a new fave so that's the only reason I have bumped it down just a tad.
The dream lengths set is amazing BTW!
I love this range and the price - always comes up on sale at pack n save and is readily available.
I have colour in the ends of my hair and that can be quite drying and this is a nice shampoo to stop the tangling that comes with the dryness that colouring does to my hair. I love the UV filter so its perfect for summer and preventing further drying and ratty hair. Its a really smoothing shampoo and detangles making it more manageable, I still use the conditioner which helps a lot too but you might get away with just the shampoo if you have short hair that's not too shabby. Or vice versa just the conditioner.
So definitely prolongs the colour in my lengths by keeping it tidier and smoother meaning less cuts and fade.. but doesn't help with brassyness so I still have to use a blond conditioner occasionally. Keep that in mind.
Tips: Still have to use a blond conditioner occasionally. Keep that in mind.
