Ok so I waited til I had dyed my hair fresh to start this review. I always have trouble with red fading, so went for a red ombre. After just over a week of use, I see no difference than using a normal shampoo. The colour is noticeably washing out and fading... I may as well have put a rinse through my hair!! The black in my hair is fine though. I do like the way my hair feels after using the shampoo and conditioner, hence why I would use it again, just not for the purpose its advertised for. **Disclaimer.. It could just be me, and red maybe just doesnt stick to my hair

From when I first applied this ....the Smell was Gorgeous . I found I didn't need much to get a good lather, I am impressed as I have Coloured Hair and need to protect it.
First off!! Super speedy delivery BR team!
As soon as the Shampoo arrived I jumped straight in the shower.
The packaging is bright (red) ,welcoming and very user friendly.
I opened the lid poured a small amount out and sniffed away (I do this, I go buy smell) and wow!! It smells so good!
The shampoo bubbled nicely , rinsed clean. And my hair felt soft, refreshed and clean.
Since I had old colour in my hair I watched the bubbles very carefully. They were still white. Now if you colour your hair plum or red it always washes some colour away.
WELL NOT THIS TIME!!
I was quite gobsmacked. It really didn't strip any!
So I followed with the matching Condtioner (Mmmmmmmmmmm by the way!!) Could not stop smelling my hair it was super shiny! Smelt amazing!
So I thought since I had like 2 inches of gross regrowth I thought I'd put the 80% colour retained, to the test.
I colour my regrowth using Garnier Colour Sensation Deep Amethyst to the test.
When it came to washing the colour out, not that much washed away!
It's now been over a week of the colour (grrr I already have regrowth) and there is NO, yes that's right!! NO colour loss upon shampoos.
This have never happened.
Even when I used Salon Shampoo!!
So I highly recommend this Shampoo.
Especially if you have coloured plum or red hair.
I will be purchasing another set :D
The product claims to preserve your hair after 28 washes but I can't say this is true or not as im not one to wash my hair 28 time in the period of two weeks. But I did try it a couple of times!
When it comes to washing my hair I like to use a range of shampoos one being a colour protect shampoo as i regularly am dying my hair blonde.
When I first opened the bottle I was surprised to see the shampoo was not purple as most shampoo I have used are but them I realized that the Loreal shampoo is targeted toward all hair types not just blondes.
I was a little bit skeptical at first as my hair is something I really take care of and I find my self reaching for more high end hair products as they don't tend to make my hair oily as fast.
After my first use I was pretty impressed. First the products smells amazing! and my hair was very soft. But the product did make my hair very flat and it seemed to be lacking volume. When it came to oil I didn't need to wash my hair any more then I had to with my other shampoos which was a big plus for me.
Over the next couple of uses my color was staying nice and blonde and no brassy tones were to be found!
I recommend this product if you are looking for a nice cheap colour protecting shampoo. I have found better high end ones on the market, but for a drug store product it is good.
For the record, I'm normally a Pantene girl who switches to Dove every so often. My hair is down near my waist, and I use roughly 5x times as much conditioner than shampoo - because I feel thats the important part, or I used to before I started being more adventurous with recolouring my hair. Currently I have a ruby red base colour, and put through a reverse ombre streaking so im blonde on the top..and on the blonde, I have electric blue. It takes a lot of effort and money to maintain colour in my hair now, so a colour protect shampoo is just what I need. And protect colour it does!! The blue in my hair is supposed to be a 6-8 wash out rinse. Hmmmm.. its still bright blue months later! My previous shampoo, whenever I washed my hair it would be carnage in the bathroom. Blue shampoo foam all over the shower, and I'd have to scrub the floor afterwards as it would leave blue residue on the tiles. This product is still a little bit of that, but no where near as much coming out! So definitely does what its supposed to. Its not too harsh either, I generally need to double shampoo to get my hair clean as my hair is so thick and I don't feel like its stripped of oils.
Again, this product is a supermarket brand, available almost everywhere, and is nice and cheap - around $5.00. It does the trick, smells really nice and lasts well. Nothing spectacular so I wouldn't rave about it, but I would buy it again if I had to, I am trying my best to go organic so would refrain.
Mum buys this shampoo and conditioner every week for her coloured hair. I decided to try it out and I love them!! I never have tried L'Oréal before. ... I was in love with my tresseme shampoo but this one gives so much shine and softness to my hair and just makes it feel amazing. I like the texture of the products a lot, and they feel like they are really cleaning my hair but keeping the moisture. I do not really enjoy the bottles as they make it difficult to get the last of the product out, but other than that they are a new favourite!
All in all I really like this, the smell is great ,nthe comsistancy is good, it's very moisturising, leaves your hair feeling great. I have not noticed fading at all in my hair colour and it is bright red and usually fades very quick. Most shampoos make me hair very very greasy after a day and I was having to was my hair every day but using this I only wash it every 2 or 3 days!
First off I have just gone from platinum blonde to bright pink, so my hair isnt in the best condition to begin with. But Ill go through the pros and cons of this shampoo- Pros: Smells great, a little goes a long way, cleans hair very thoroughly. Cons- My hair colour still washed out ALOT, even after the third wash there was alot of color coming out. Made my hair go very fluffy as well. So all in all its a great regular shampoo but not a great color lengthening one. Tad disappointing as the price is very reasonable.
Tips: A little goes a long way!
I normally use a reasonably expensive sulphate free shampoo and so tried this new one with a bit of trepidation. I needn't have worried as although it was really foamy (maybe used a tad too much product on the first go) the result was great. My hair felt soft and light and shiny. My colour looks great but it's probably too early to tell if it will extend the life of my colour.
Tips: Try a small amount first!
