L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo Review

Great shampoo, you only need a small amount and it lathers up realllyyy thick and nice! Has a nice light scent and leaves you feeling super clean. I have dark brown hair with toned highlights and my hair still looks as good as the day it was done. The bottle itself is nice and easy to use, I find some quite awkward to squeeze or difficult to get the product out, I had no issues with this one. I would definitely buy this product again.

Would definitely use this again, great price and left my hair feeling silky smooth and didn't wash any of my colour out :) love the smell aswell!

The first thing I noticed with this shampoo is the smell. It is quite a strong fragrance, and not something I like due to my sensitive nose. I did get used to it after a while, but I imagine it can be too strong for some people.

What I liked about this shampoo is its creamy texture, which feels nice when massaging through my hair. However, my hair always becomes tangled after rinsing the shampoo away. I never had this issue with my previous brand of shampoo. Luckily, the conditioner fixes this right away, but I really dislike the fact that the shampoo always causes my hair to be tangled, without fail.

I can't really tell if its colour protect abilities are any better than other colour protect shampoo. My hair does feel nourished, but I wouldn't get this again due to the strong smell and the fact my hair gets tangled after every use.

The first thing I noticed about this was the smell - a really nice (in my opinion) sweet vaguely fruity/berry smell. This was a change from the usual chemical-tinged smell most salon bought colour protect shampoos seem to have. It lathers nicely and rinses out easily, and it didn't leave my hair with the slimy feeling that some shampoos do after I've had it bleached. I've not noticed my hair colour fading/yellowing so it seems to be doing what it promises - I was using salon bought shampoo before this so at less than half the price, this one will definitely be on my list of products to use again.

Bottle is a bit gaudy and basic looking with its fire engine red shade. I found the size a bit wide for my smaller hands, however liked that the lid opened easily. Pleasant smell, and good creamy consistency of product. My hair is salon coloured with permanent product, and as I didn't use for 28 washes it was a bit hard to tell whether the colour is protected over time. Didn't seem to wash out as well as my usual, similarly priced brand. Would buy again as an 'in between' bottle as a switch from my usual brand which I'll continue buying.

When this product arrived first impressions 1. Love the standout Colour of packaging 2. The smell of the product is great makes you feel like your in a salon. 3. I don't like the shape of the bottle as it's narrow at the base so falls over in the shower easily and the openings at the top, which makes it hard to get the last bit out.

On using this Shampoo it felt great when applied, did lather quite alot so don't need much. When rinising I found it made my hair feel stripped. (of course when conditioner applied felt better)

I had coloured my hair 2 weeks before this trial with dark roots and blonde ends. My hair is of medium thickness (just to give you an idea of what type of hair I've got and how it worked for me)

I found my hair shiny when dry, but extra fluffy and puffy. I don't feel I could say 100% it has prolonged my colour, but I guess I could give you more feed back in the coming weeks.

Definatly has more shine.

Like I said about the conditioner in my previous review, the sleek design of the packaging is appealing and it is a practical size and shape.

The shampoo is easy to massage into the hair and has a really nice scent to it. It does a good job of washing out and leftover hairspray (which I use most days).

As per my conditioner review, I am unsure about its colour protecting qualities due to the nature of my heavily dyed hair. Regardless, I like this product and would definitely use it again!!

The smell of this shampoo is amazing but my hair was left feeling rather oily after using it which was disappointing. It bought out the brightness of a little bit of blonde I had in my tips. I did like this product I would have used it again if it didn't make my hair so oily.

I really enjoyed trialling this product. Positives for me were the scent (very light), the good lather, and I also felt like it was gentle enough to protect the colour in my hair. I loved the feeling after using it...my hair was so soft and silky.

The only negative for me (but enough to think twice whether I'd use it again) is that by day 2, I noticed my hair getting quite greasy. For some reason it really didn't work that great for me - I'd say that I'd probably need to wash my hair daily if I was to use this product regularly.

So i had been using this shampoo for a while now as i already had brought some myself, so when i recieved my sample from beauty review i was so happy! I have been using this paired with the conditoner for the last month and a bit, and i found that it really does help my hair colour last longer. I get my hair coloured with blonde highlights, and i find that this product does keep the colour the same. With other shampoos and conditioners sometimes my blonde turns to a gross yellow colour! So overall pretty impressed with this product
