L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo Review

I've been using the Elvive Colour Protect shampoo and conditioner for about 3 months now and I'm really happy with the colour protection of this cheap supermarket range. After my lilac semi-permanent colour washed out really quickly, I switched to this brand of shampoo and I've found it's maintaining my hair in a pretty pastel blue-green colour, which is great as I don't have to re-do the colour all the time! My favourite thing about this shampoo is the smell, which makes it seem a lot more expensive and luxurious than it is! I also like how I don't need to use as much as I usually do to make my long hair feel clean, so it lasts me longer than other supermarket shampoos.

I had recently got my hair coloured before receiving my elvive shampoo. It was the perfect timing to give this a go. This product out of my experience does what it says. My colour has been looking the same since day one. The smell of the shampoo is so refreshing and the texture is so smooth when washing your hair. It glides through your hair and you dont have to use too much shampoo at a time compared to some other colour shampoo brands i have used and you have to use quite a bit of shampoo so that it gets through all your scalp. Once my hair has been washed and dried my hair looks absolutely amazing, leaving my hair feeling like ive just come out of the salon. it feels like my hair is glowing and feels like the shampoo has done its work to protect my hair.

I've been using this for the past few weeks and have noticed my hair colour has been well maintained, it has been dyed a few months ago, and normally fades within this time. I've found this shampoo has really helped lengthen the time my colour lasts, and keeps it looking fresh.

I love the smell of this shampoo, and don't need to use too much to get a good lather.

Works well in conjunction with the conditioner.

This is a really great shampoo, especially for the price, it is often on special at the supermarket, I like how this shampoo is easily accessible to buy at any local supermarket. Will definitely be repurchasing.

Amazing, loved it and still using it and will continue to use. It didnt dry my coloured hair!! Made it silky and shiny. No fading from my colour after a week of use.

Loved the smell straight away but just didnt quite cut it for me as a shampoo. Colour didnt seem to last any longer than normal BUT I do use a vibrant red currently which I will admit fades fast. My hair was more luminous and had more shine so I was pleased in that respect. It definitely improved the overall condition of my hair too (used in conjunction with the conditioner) so I would recommend. Would I use it again? Yes but only if I had a different hair colour.

The Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo has a lovely scent and lathers well. However I didn't feel it did anything to improve the condition of my hair. My hair errs on the side of dryness and it felt weighed down, dull and dry with this shampoo. My hair colour didn't fade using this shampoo it didn't counteract any brassy blonde tones in my bleached hair so alternating with purple shampoo was a definite requirement.

Well after using this for two weeks I think my hair colour has not faded although I did see some hair colour wash away with the shampoo, witch was a bit disappointing. I loved the smell and it made my hair smell lovely for the whole day. after using the conditioner as well it made my hair nice and soft and silky.

Apart from the amazing smell and smooth texture of this product, I would use it again, like any other shampoo, it made my hair feel like straw, a very rough texture I really didn't like it.but it did protect my color which is great.

Im a little sketchy with using shampoos and conditioners as i do take pride in my hair and as ive gotten older, my hair (although i find is still healthy)is a little more temperamental than my younger years. No more gel, mousse or spray on a daily basis as the build up and dry flakes at the end of the day is very non flattering. Even most shampoos i try (unless salon bought) i cannot retain for a long period as my hair becomes oily and yuck, not lovely soft and free! So far it has been 3 weeks since using this and i wash on a very regular basis. due to my job and school as appearances are top priority alongside your skill. so washing, blpwdrying and straightening hair on a near daily basis does usually cause a strain on the hair. I lighten my hair so retaining of colour is paramount as usually if its not toned regularly i will end up with a brassy colour in my hair And the test was put out there as i had run out of toner! Now 2 week into course a girl had asked me if i had recently had my hair done, as it was looking lighter and brighter. no work was done and not having any toner left there was only one explanation... ELVIVE so i will be purchasing another bottle to see how the results continue.. so far so good :)
