The first thing I noticed with this product was the smell. As soon as I opened the courier bag, I could smell the very strong fragrance which sort of put me off as I didn't want my hair smelling that strong. I gave it a go though. The consistency was good, spread through my hair easily and lathered well. It rinsed out great and my hair really felt clean. I used the L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Conditioner along with the shampoo which worked great together, leaving my hair nice and smooth. My hair didn't have a strong fragrant smell like I thought it would, and the colour in my hair definitely looked shinier and vibrant. My hair seems to have more volume in it too. The bright red in my hair is only semi-permanent, so I thought this shampoo would strip a lot of the colour out like other shampoos I've used, but surprisingly it didn't strip as much as I thought it would. Because I only use semi-permanent red, I try to only wash my hair once a week to make the colour stay brighter for longer. Usually my hair starts to get oily after about 3 days so I need to use a dry shampoo. With this shampoo, I found my hair didn't get oily till the 5th or 6th day which is great! I will definitely buy this again because I love the way it makes my hair feel, and how vibrant the red looks in my hair after using it.

This shampoo smells awesome, unfortunately has to much fragrance for my sensitive scalp gives me itchy scalp and dandruff. Does wash out really well and make my hair feel good just not so great on the head. I wouldn't say this shampoo is any better than any other brand and I would definately not buy at this price
Tips: Lower price and less fragrance and it would be a excellent unfortunately its not for me
I was realy excited about trialling this shampoo. I certainly haven't washed my hair *28 washes in the time since I have had it.
I love the bright packaging as I am a fan of red. I also like the shape of the bottle and easy to extract the shampoo.
It was great timing as I just had the roots of my hair re-done.
I noticed less colour rinsing in the water but I don't know if this is because I only had a small area touched up. I have waist length, thick hair.
Unfortunately, I did not like the fragrance and pleased the fragrance did not linger in my hair after.
The shampoo lathers easily to start but felt extemely dry the more I washed. If I felt like having a 'good scrub', I couldn't. Was a birds nest.
My hair felt flat and doesn't look vibrant or shiny.
I just loved the bright packaging/bottle. The scent of the shampoo was very pleasant. You only need a very small amount to lather it up. Definitely goes a long way. I have a lot of trouble keeping my colour to last the distance. This shampoo has definitely helped BUT I still havent found one that will help me keep the colour for 6 weeks. I would use it again and would buy a different type from the Elvive range for my daughter to use.
Honestly just like any of my other shampoos, hate to say it like that but yeah. I think using the shampoo and conditioner together does help but i so prefer the conditioner alone
The Good - I loved the packaging of the shampoo, and the smell was pleasant. It wasn't a harsh shampoo, so for that reason the colour was probably more protected than usual (i.e. wasn't stripping the colour).
The Bad - Whilst it may have been protecting the colour in my hair (not that I saw a marked difference), it felt like I wasn't getting a very good clean. My hair become greasy a lot quicker than normal.
Would I buy again? Probably not. The lack of a good clean out weighs any colour protection benefits.
Tips: It lathers well, so you only need a small amount
A really nice shampoo that doesn't strip your hair of everything. My hair is very dry and often impersonates straw so I was hoping this shampoo was going to be super moisturising, and it was. It's quite thick so I needed a little extra water to get up a good lather and I really liked the smell. Did t do much for the colour of my hair but it definitely ticked all the other boxes. Will get again for sure
Tips: Might need extra water for a good lather
Trialed this as apart of this website which was awesome because free stuff cool!!
Nice bright packaging which is eye-catching and to me it looks a bit fancier than your standard shampoo! So upon showering with a head full of hair spray, I used about a 50c coin and it lathered up something crazy which i love shampoo doing - but apparently this is a bad sign? However, i like it because then i know what parts i've missed etc. Once i washed it out i still didnt really feel clean and felt a little straw like. The next couple of times i shampooed it felt the same that it didnt fully clean my hair! So i'm unsure about this product but on a plus side it smelt good!
Tips: This stuff lathers like crazy but maybe this is just a cover up for the fact it doesn't clean as well?
I had the opportunity to trial this shampoo together with the conditioner and had mixed results with it. I first used the shampoo and conditioner together and found that it made my hair very flat and limp, although my hair felt very soft and shiny. The shampoo was very rich and creamy and smelt pleasant enough and you only have to use a small amount. I like to shampoo twice. I got a better result from using the shampoo with a different conditioner and found that I was still able to retain the volume and body of my hair and it was just as effective as my other shampoo which I pay a lot more for. Pricewise, I think it is value for money. The combination of both the shampoo and conditioner did not work for me but separately, with another conditioner, it produced a good result for me and I would buy this product again.
Tips: Shampooing twice gives you a good lather and you only need to use a small amount.
L'Oreal Elvive 250ml bottle, i would have liked to have waited till my next hairdressers appointment, as the colour in my hair is 1 mth old, so has already faded abit, found the smell of the shampoo a little strong, but as i have short hair, i didn't have to use much, my hair did feel really clean after i rinsed it out , whether it made my colour last longer i'm not sure, but for the price it is alot cheaper than the salon brought shampoo i normally use and as i have fine hair it didn't make it limp
