Bought this after i recently coloured my hair brown from blonde to preserve the colour. Picked it up for a steal at countdown on sale as I'm a huge fan of loreal products. I love the smell, as with most of loreals products so no surprises there, easy to get out of the bottle and you don't need much as it lathers very well. i can't say i've seen a significant change in my how long my colour lasts since starting this but I can't see any harm either way.

I don't colour my hair and haven't since I shaved for a cure however I have used this shampoo a number of times now as its really hydrating and tames my hair a lot better than other shampoos. The only thing that I found with this shampoo (as I have a sensitive scalp) it gave me very flaky and itchy scalp after washing my hair a few times with it. It also made my hair after a few days look really oily and if I straightened my hair by the end of the day it was oily. However no frizz or flyaways is worth it at times. The packaging is bright which is awesome. The bottles are easy to get the product out of and hold when squeezing and the price is always a good price. Even though my hair reacted the way it did my daughters hair looks amazing when using it.
I do enjoy using L'Oreal Paris products and have found in the past their hair range does what it says. I have never been dissatisfied with anything in their hair dare range, and this is no exception.
I thought I would give my hair a spot of colour to brighten it up for the winter months and switched my hair care products to this range.
The shampoo comes in a striking red bottle and the shampoo itself is a very rich creamy consistency, it feels like it should cost a lot more. It lathers well and smells nice.
I am absolutely delighted with the results. The colour of my hair looks just as great as it did when it was first done and it has not faded and my hair feels so soft and looks healthy and shiny.
I do feel it has extended the life of my colour so will continue to use this when I have colour in my hair.
Tips: I also bought the conditioner and together found the results were fabulous.
This comes in a nice bright red bottle easy to use. The shampoo has a pleasant smell and Is a thinner consistancy to the matching conditioner. It lathers up nicely and cleans my hair well. I found that my colour has lasted longer since I have used this along with the matching conditioner.
Tips: Use with the matching conditioner.
I have dyed black hair and like to keep my colour looking fresh and vibrant. I saw this at the supermarket for about $5 for a large bottle so decided to give it a try.
The bottle is a gorgeous vibrant red and I find it very attractive. The shampoo is on the thicker side, sometimes I actually think I've accidentally used the conditioner instead so I have to check.
It lathers up well in my hair, you only need a little bit and I feel I use far too much every time I use it. It does not leave my hair feeling like straw or tangled. It has a gorgeous scent which I love.
My hair is left feeling clean however I do get some colour wash out with this which I am not so happy about.
Used in conjunction with the conditioner they make a lovely pair. Not sure I would repurchase simply because of the colour wash out when it is supposed to be a colour lock shampoo.
I Love this shampoo its so nice in my hair and smells nice also. I get really bad dandruff and oily looking hair from supermarket shampoos but not this one. Its a good thick consistency and is Good value for money.
Tips: As the product is quite thick you only need to use a small amount.
In the weekend I purchased this for about 6 or 7 dollars from the warehouse. I have just recently coloured my hair with temporary colour and wanted to get a colour protection shampoo. I don't usually use this line but I have tried some of the others in the past. For reference I have got two bright temporary hair dyes in my hair. The first wash after colouring with temporary dye usually always hectic and seems like alot goes down the plug hole. This shampoo smelt nice and fresh and when I used it thankfully it didn't seem to take as much colour from my hair as a regular shampoo, anti dandruff or clarifying shampoo. I did not buy the matching conditioner because I prefer to use silicone and diamenticone free stuff. I also have plenty of shampoo at home from the vault but was low on some specific to prevent colour loss. My hair was very oily to begin with as I didn't wash it for about a week since colouring it. I don't normally leave it very long except when it's not healthy or I'm trying to keep my colour. This meant I did have to be vigorous around my scalp and near my ears otherwise my hair would still feel greasy or not clean. I didn't shampoo twice as that's something I just don't really do. But I do feel I need to use a bit more than usual as my roots were greasy. My hair feels nice and soft, manageable and not too dry even though I have dry ends and didn't use conditioner this time. I cannot see a problem with this product it seems to work for what I purchased it for. The only gripe I could say was that I feel the bottle wasn't as full as it could of been when I purchased. I can't comment on the 28 wash theory but I'm satisfied so far.
I found this shampoo quite drying leaving my hair Thin and straw like . It irritated my eye lids no end So if your sensitive then this isn’t for you
As I colour my hair I have to be careful what shampoos I use as some are just too cleansing in the sense they strip my colour and dry my hair.Elvive Colour Protect does just what is says and I find my hair not only feels good but also my colour stays brighter and true to colour for so much longer. I do change my shampoos and conditioners as I like to try different products but this is one of the best in my opinion and I often buy on special which is a good plus.
Tips: For best results buy the conditioner too as they do work so well together.
I bought this a couple of months ago to see if it would protect my firey red hair from fading too fast and going down the plughole. I had tried other L'Oreal Paris Elvive products before so was rather hopeful that this would do me good just like the others had. First off $6.50 is what I paid for this and I think it is pretty standard now for salon brand supermarket shampoo and conditioners. It is both affordable and also quality for me.
I do love me some red so the fact that this shampoo bottle is bright red and matches my hair makes my heart happy. It stands out like pick me, pick me so of course I had to have it. I liked that it promised to help preserve the colour I have because fade is my number 2 pet peeve. I needed this to slow down so I wasn't spending hundreds of dollars keeping it intense.
I used it on day 5 after dying my hair to see the true power of this baby. The smell is very intense and salon like. It's actually nice but very in your face. The consistency is quite thick and cream in colour. It's quite luxurious really. I massage it in my hair making sure I scrub it to the roots and through the lengths. I leave it in for four minutes (tank supply water and all) and rinse thoroughly. Of course there will be colour down the plug but nowhere near as much as with normal shampoo.
After rinsing my hair feels knotted and straw like eeww!!! I am so glad I don't wash my hair all the time or my hair would be so dry. Even though it feels like straw and lacks moisture I am impressed that my colour still remains intense and in your face so despite the feeling it leaves me with it did what I wanted it to do YAY!
Of course once you use the sibling conditioner the results become very different. To see the results read my L'Oreal Paris Elvive Colour Perfect Conditioner review!
Tips: Use the conditioner it comes with to see the true results
