Bottle is a bit gaudy and basic looking with its fire engine red shade. I found the size a bit wide for my smaller hands, however liked that the lid opened easily. Pleasant smell, and good creamy consistency of product. My hair is salon coloured with permanent product, and as I didn't use for 28 washes it was a bit hard to tell whether the colour is protected over time. Didn't seem to wash out as well as my usual, similarly priced brand. Would buy again as an 'in between' bottle as a switch from my usual brand which I'll continue buying.

Tips: Use a little and rinse well.
L'Oreal Elvive 250ml bottle, i would have liked to have waited till my next hairdressers appointment, as the colour in my hair is 1 mth old, so has already faded abit, found the smell of the shampoo a little strong, but as i have short hair, i didn't have to use much, my hair did feel really clean after i rinsed it out , whether it made my colour last longer i'm not sure, but for the price it is alot cheaper than the salon brought shampoo i normally use and as i have fine hair it didn't make it limp
I used this a few times and I found it worked quite well for a supermarket brand shampoo, a lot of my hair has been bleached so I thought it didn't work too well on that part of my hair but the part that has been coloured a reddish colour I did think it made the colour seem more vibrant. It did really knot my hair so I couldn't have used it without following with conditioner.
Tips: Use conditioner afterwards because it will knot your hair otherwise.
The first time I used it I put the normal amount I would normally use on my hair and boy I think I could have washed the whole families hair with the amount I used, it is very economical as a little goes a long way. I did find it very thick and didn't run down my face and foamed up very well. When I rinsed my hair it felt very clean, kind of like squeaky which I wasn't too keen on, felt like it stripped too much of the natural oils away. I can't say I noticed too much difference with the colour of my hair with this shampoo against the normal shampoo I use. But knowing I can buy a 'supermarket' brand that does the same thing as the salon brand shampoo is great.
Tips: Only use a very small amount as a little amount lathers up nicely.
Ok so I waited til I had dyed my hair fresh to start this review. I always have trouble with red fading, so went for a red ombre. After just over a week of use, I see no difference than using a normal shampoo. The colour is noticeably washing out and fading... I may as well have put a rinse through my hair!! The black in my hair is fine though. I do like the way my hair feels after using the shampoo and conditioner, hence why I would use it again, just not for the purpose its advertised for. **Disclaimer.. It could just be me, and red maybe just doesnt stick to my hair
I was lucky enough to get picked to trial the L'Oreal Paris Elvive colour protect Shampoo and conditioner. I was really impressed to get given full size bottles to trial. I have used this shampoo and conditioner for the last two weeks so this is my review on them. Opening up the bottles, the first thing you notice is the scent, it smells soooo amazing! The product says that it will seal in colour, protect hair and prolong radiance. I do feel that it does lock in colour, I have noticed that my hair has not faded since using this product. In saying that, I only coloured my hair a week or so ago, so will have to keep using to really see if the product lives up to what it says. I did notice that my hair got oily pretty quickly though, pretty much the next day, so even though my hair fits with the colour protect this shampoo and conditioner might not be suited for oily hair types. I would use this again if I had run out of my normal shampoo as it is an okay shampoo and conditioner.
Tips: Don't use if you have oily hair.
I would have to say that it is like any supermarket color protect shampoo my color is still looking great but i did find that it made my hair quite frizzy after use with the conditioner being used as well. It does have a lovely fragrance that did linger in my hair after use which i do like in a shampoo
This product was fine for a supermarket shampoo but I felt it needed pairing with a more "conditioning" conditioner than the corresponding colour protect conditioner which I also trialled (see my comments on that one). I had previously used another shampoo/conditioner by this brand which I felt was a much better product pair than this one. Sorry L'Oreal as I usually love your products! The shampoo itself was ok, and colour did seem to last well but I just felt it a bit drying.
Would not purchase this once the bottle is empty. Makes my hair dry and frizzy and does not do me any good. I was hoping it would work wonders on my coloured hair restore back the moisture lost from dyeing it once a month. Pity though as it is really affordable and smells great.
Apart from the amazing smell and smooth texture of this product, I would use it again, like any other shampoo, it made my hair feel like straw, a very rough texture I really didn't like it.but it did protect my color which is great.
Tips: Because my hair is very long and thick, I think using less of this product would stop the rough texture, and would make this product perfect.
