I was really looking forward trying this as I colour my hair quite bright colours. Typically being a self confessed Salon Snob, stepping out of my comfort zone to do this trial was good. I coloured my hair to really give it a good go, to see what it stood up what it said. I have to wash my hair every day the shampoo was really a great smell, my colour didn't run as much as it had previously. The small amount you used will make the the shampoo last awhile.

This shampoo definitely soaks all the oil out of your hair! Definitely gets any build up of product out of your hair! The shampoo was not to foamy and the scent was neither over powering or under powering - quite a natural clean scent which I like. I've seen a small change in the brightness of my hair colour but not anything overly dramatic.
Tips: Follow up with the L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Conditioner for ultimate shine and softness.
I have a sensitive scalp and I found this shampoo really nice to use. My hair felt really soft. My colour has continued to look great.
Tips: Only use a small amount.
The L’Oreal ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo is a great product. Nice and thick and creamy texture and lathers up really well. For the time I have been using the shampoo I found it did maintained my colour and definitely made my hair soft and smell amazing. I will be going out and purchasing this bad boy to continue using!
Tips: I am a massive fan of the Colour Protect Conditioner so recommend using these two together
I really liked this product, to test this out my hair had recently been streaked blonde which does usually tend to fade out nicely as it grows.
This product had a nice consistency wasn't too liquidy and lathered up nicely. I only needed a small amount of this product. This shampoo combined with the conditioner left my hair smooth and easy to brush.
The packaging was nice and sleek and looks lovely in my shower, the lid is easy to open. This product smells amazing and very much like a salon shampoo, the scent also lasts through to when my hair is dry.
I don't think this shampoo fully protected my colour but it hasn't faded as much as when I use other shampoos.
Tips: A little bit of this goes a long way
I was really excited to be picked for this trial, as having coloured my hair for some time now I am always looking for products to help prolong my colour.
I really liked the subtle fragrance of the shampoo, and the fact that you don't have to use a lot of it to get a result, making it an economical option.
What I particularly liked about the L'Oreal Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo is that it seems quite concentrated, in that it doesn't lather up hugely, meaning it is not full of detergents, but rather product that aims to make a concentrated effort to clean your hair. I was also impressed by the fact that once the shampoo was rinsed out my hair felt soft and silky, so many other shampoos leave you hair feeling dry and stringy after they are washed out.
The Shampoo's stated aim is to seal colour, protect hair and prolong radiance. I feel like it delivered on these aims for the most part. I was concerned to see that when I rinsed my hair the first time I used it, my colour was in the foam. Now to be fair, this may be because of the colour I used, rather than the product. Over the weeks of using it I did see more regrowth appearing, but once again I am fairly convinced that says more about the colour product I used than the shampoo and conditioner. The rest of my colour maintained it's strength in colour, with no fade occurring - and I do dye it black, so it's a strong colour to keep.
My local supermarket retails this product for $6.59 which I think represents excellent value for money, and is the reason I would purchase it in the future.
Tips: Thoroughly wet your hair before applying the shampoo, the product distributes better through your hair if it is really wet.
Have washed my hair my frequently, to give the product a good trial. I have medium long hair only need about the size of a 50c piece in shampoo. My hair feels thicker and there appears no fade in my hair colour. In fact several people have commented on my hair colour and asked have i changed it. I think the shampoo is exceptionally good value at $8.99 and I will continue purchase once my trial bottle runs out.
I always use a salon shampoo and conditioner and was keen to try a supermarket brand to compare. I found it to be good, a little went a long way and it left my hair not feeling dry which is good. I have short hair so i wash my hair everyday, otherwise i can't seem to style it! I found the smell pleasant too. I think a nice smell is important! I don't have anything negative to say about this shamoo and i would defiantely use it again. I would recommend to others.
After testing this shampoo I was blessed with the result on my hair; it left is shiny, bouncy and healthy looking. The formula smells pleasant and foams well, a little of this product goes a long way. While it states it seals in colour I found there was colour fade which is to be expected with high maintenance red, I would not expect it to lock it in for 28 washes unless you were working with natural tones.
Container: A red 250ml plastic "tube" like bottle. The lid is a flip lid that opens on the top. It is flat so should you want to you could stand the shampoo on the top.
Appearance: The red of the container is bright and attractive. The writing on the front is in gold, orange and white.
Information: The label is clear and informative. It has a clear list of ingredients, a clear and informative paragraph about the aim of the shampoo. Overall for the container/packaging I would give it a 4/5. There is nothing that I can fault the package and presentation on. It is attractive and informative.
The Product: A sweet smelling white cream like shampoo. The shampoo smells delicious. A teaspoon lathered up and offered a good foam that felt like it was cleaning my hair.
To begin I followed all the instructions, it worked brilliantly. I also used it as I would use my normal shampoo - without conditioning and I found that once again I was not disappointed. The shampoo cleaned my hair without leaving it feeling dry or "squeaky". My hair was a little more controllable and has a little less fuzz using this shampoo. I can say that my hair was coloured a week before receiving the shampoo. It is a copper colour which tends to fade, with this shampoo I have not been disappointed my colour has lasted and my hair feels silky smooth.
I am delighted with the results and will definitely purchase this shampoo in the future. It offers a salon like smooth finish to your hair and although it was for protecting my colour I have noticed that my hair is far more manageable!
For the fragrance I would give it a 5/5. For the texture/thickness of the shampoo I would give it a 5/5. For the results I would give it a 5/5. Using the shampoo with the conditioner I would give it a 5/5, using just the shampoo the results are not as fantastic but good as with the conditioner.
BRILLIANT.
Tips: For best results I would recommend using the conditioner after the shampoo, however this was not essential.
