I've used this shampoo over the last couple of weeks and not overly impressed. I already have very dry, brittle, colour damaged hair and I found after using this shampoo my hair felt very dry and coarse. Yes, using the conditioner after restored it to its "normal" condition, but the shampoo compared to other brands I've used felt more damaging and left my hair drier than other products. In saying that though, it did feel very clean, it certainly stripped out all the oils and dirt and it smells lovely. I'm not sure that it restored my colour after 28 washes, and I cannot honestly comment on this promise, as I only wash my hair 2-3 times max every week and therefore have not trialed it for long enough. Also, I did recently dye my hair my normal bright red colour, and there's been just as much red wash down the drain as there would be with other brands I've used, so not sure if this necessarily "protects" the colour as it states it does. But is on par with other brands. The packaging is nice, easy to squeeze out, easy to open and close. Some other brands make you feel like a weak old lady when you're trying to squeeze it out, but had no problems with this bottle. I believe it's cost effective, as the shampoo lathers so easily, literally a drop the size of a teaspoon does the trick and is more than enough, therefore the bottle should last a while. Unsure if I would purchase this again but it was good to trial it so I know for next time.

Tips: Just use a small amount... a little goes MILES with this shampoo!
I received my shampoo in the post very quickly thank you BR team, and I was really looking forward to using this product as I have changed my hair colour from dark brown to light brown with blonde highlights.
I liked the smell of the shampoo, and the packaging is pleasing on the eye, it is a nice slim shape to help with storage in the bathroom.
I have very curly hair and quite dry,and I found as I was washing my hair with this shampoo, it was making me hair all matted and knotted up and felt like straw.
I tried different ways of washing my hair, but still found the same result, matted hair and all knotty, not a nice feeling. No matter how much or how little I used of the product.
I did not notice any difference to my hair colour at all. The colour faded as much as it has done before, and it certainly was not looking radiant or shiny as it claims.
My hair felt quite dry after washing, and when I was blow drying my hair, I found my hair was becoming more frizzy.
The positive comment on this product, is that it did not make my hair oily at the roots at all, even after 3 days, unlike some other colour shampoos I have tried. This is a great bonus, as it means less hair washing for me.
My hair was not looking any shinier and was not feeling any softer, even though it claims to do so.
I found that it does not nourish the hair enough for me to want to buy this particular product in the future, but I would not be put off trying other L'Oreal shampoos, as I feel I need to maybe try a shampoo for dry hair instead.
This is an affordable shampoo that everyone can use, and easily found in all supermarkets.
Tips: Use a good conditioner after shampooing if you have dry curly hair/
I dyed my hair about 2 weeks before using this product. I used it in conjunction with the conditioner. The first time i used this, i found my hair dye was still comming out through the shampoo. Since then my hair has lightened and has gone to a dark brown with a hint of purple. I orginally dyed my hair purple. I am dissapointed with this product but I am not sure if it was the hair dye I used or the shampoo and conditioner, as I used a new hair dye.
I would give this another try using the brand I always use to see if it works, but pretty dissapointed overall with the colour of my hair :(
I normally only purchase salon brand hair care so was quite reluctant to try this. However I was pleasantly surprised. I found this shampoo very gentle on my coloured hair. It cleansed my hair without stripping nutrients from it - essential given the amount of colour I have in my hair. Good value for money when the budget can't stretch to more premium products.
I tried this Shampoo after just colouring my hair a week earlier. The smell was really nice and it left my hair feeling and looking shiny and healthy. As far as colour preservation for 28 washes goes I wouldn't be too confident that this is true I haven't noticed a lot with my hair.
This product was a pleasure to use. I found that my hair felt soft and not dry after using it. I am used to using a salon only product to protect my colour. I used this product and I am unsure from the time I started using it if it did protect my colour. My colour wasn't new (had been coloured three weeks previously) so was at the point where it was fading anyway. I liked how nourished my hair felt after I had used it together with the conditioner. If I wasn't buying my normal salon shampoo to protect my colour I would likely buy this one from the supermarket.
I have used numerous Colour Protection Shampoos due to having vibrant red colour throughout my hair. This product had a lovely smell that remained in my hair for the day. Packaging was appealing and eye catching which would be good on supermarket shelf. Only a small amount of shampoo was required (less than usual for my thick hair) and it lather up well. I felt my hair lacked a bit of life and became relatively flat. For the amount of time used there was no significant difference in colour fade noted against other products.
Tips: Use a small amount of shampoo. Less is better.
As said in the title, I think I will need to trial this product a bit longer to see the benefits. As someone who does not wash her hair every day, instead every 2-3 days, I have not experiences the full 28 washes..
I dyed my hair before starting this trial and have washed my hair approximately 12-14 times with the Colour Protect shampoo. After the first wash, I noticed an all over shine which the back of the bottle states. After the most recent wash (after 14ish) I do not notice any change in my colour - always a plus!
Shampoo is light weight and smells great. Doesn't make my hair feel icky once dried and reacts well to styling.
I have using this product, daily, for the last week.
It comes in a funky red bottle, and is a great price... but i am still on the fence about it.
My colour hasn't faded, like it normally does with other shampoos in the same price range. Which is a great thing, really it was doing the main thing I was hoping for... but it didn't do much else.
It definitely did fell like it was getting deeply nourished, and there was little radiance or shine. My hair felt dried out, and my scalp has become flaky, which is something I have never had an issue with..
I wouldn't use it again, but if you dont want to spend a lot of money and need to have your colour hold for longer, this product will do the job, but like i said.. not much else.
Tips: I found that I needed to use more of this shampoo than I do my regular, to achieve the same "clean feel"
I really liked the smell of this shampoo, and I hoped that I would like the actual product, but it doesn't blow me away.
Instead, it makes my hair frizz - which is quite weird and it doesn't really live up to it's name. My hair feels drier than usual and even with the conditioner, it has become quite unruly.
The packaging is user-friendly, you get a decent amount out of each bottle, and it feels heavenly when you wash it, but that's it.
As for the colour protection aspect of this product, I haven't really noticed a difference yet.
