I was a bit unsure of this product, as I dye my hair all sorts of weird colours its hard to find something that works. This product worked as well as I could have expected. It didn't hold all of my colour (although I am semi-permanent blue right now so I didn't expect it) but it kept it looking vibrant and not faded at all, unlike other shampoos I have tried. The smell is amazing as well, very floral/fruity.

Leaves my hair feeling fresh, smooth, and I've noticed my colour is looking bright and sharp still after a month! I have short brown hair with blonde streaks and I pay a lot of money for my colour.... So I want yo protect it.
My hair was fizzy, dry and damaged after many attempts of hair dying and straightening. I had dyed my hair before putting this product to test. My first impression was - it smells devine and I love the consistency of the shampoo. I have been using this product for the past two weeks and noticed it does enhanced my hair color and at the same time it nourishes my dry scalp too.
I haven't noticed any color fading off at the moment, will definitely keep using it. Pairing this shampoo with the conditioner does helps to enhanced the appearance of my hair color - I'm now loving my healthy and radiance looking hair. I can't help it but to stock up a few more bottles from the supermarket. its definitively a product worth trailing.
Tips: I washed my hair twice with the L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo for extra deep cleansing and apply the conditioner to the ends of my hair and leave it for about 5-10 mins before washing it off.
I've been testing out a few colour protect shampoos to see if any are helpful for retaining my temporary colours just a little bit longer. This is one of the better ones I have used. I really enjoyed the smell of it, and I found that I didn't need a lot to lather nicely for washing. It's difficult to judge on the colour retention factor, but I did find that it washed out around the same amount or less on the first wash after dying, so that seems good in my opinion!
I was very fortunate to receive the shampoo the day I had my hair cut and coloured.
The shampoo comes in a attractive red container, very easy to use.
The fragrance of the shampoo is pleasant and lasts most of the day.
I found that I did not need to use much shampoo as it lathers very well.
After washing, conditioning and drying my hair, I found my hair was nice and soft.
My colour has not faded, and still has the same appearance as it was when I left the hairdressers
Tips: a little goes a long way, and also use the L'oreal Paris Elvive Colour Protect Conditioner
I received this as part of the trial and So far I am really impressed with this product. I've recently recoloured my hair violetred so was perfect product to trial. The first thing I noticed was that when I lathered up my hair, the foam didn't turn pink like it has done with other products. I also loved the feel of the foam, really soft and silky. It leaves my hair feeling really clean and soft.definately use again
Tips: lather up easily and wash it out thoroughly for best results.
The first thing I usually do with shampoo and conditioner is have a good sniff. It smells good, I think it has that generic shampoo smell so it's not really anything special. It comes in a 250ml bottle, so it's a decent size. I like the shape of the bottle but there is a lot going on in the packaging though with lots of information but it still looks nice sitting in the corner of the shower!
The shampoo itself has quite a silky feeling to it and lathers up well so you don't need to use much. I wash twice with shampoo and then condition.
At the moment I have a directions colour in my hair, red to be exact and it's still fading very fast. I think it would be better for someone that has a permanent colour in their hair.
There was a day in the last three weeks (bad) that I didn't straighten my hair and left it to dry naturally and it did go very fluffy.
Usually my head is very oily so I have to wash my hair daily otherwise it ends up itchy and has that real 'hair' smell but for the first time ever I have been able to wash it every second day. That is why I will be buying it again!
Tips: Use with conditioner
As far as colour saver I don't think it does this as my darker colour still fades out fast. I do like this product as it keeps my hair clean, soft and feels nourished it definitely breaks less and looks more healthy. I used it in conjunction with my professional blonde shampoo(every third wash) and my hair definitely feels better I would buy this one again.
Tips: Wash twice, always wash twice my hairdressers advice and it's the best thing I've ever stated doing. First wash takes off the 'dirt' second washes the hair itself-makes it last longer. You only need a very small amount like the size of your thumb nail
In late May I had my long hair dyed a beautiful ombre from dark brown into dark caramelly blonde on the ends – the most blonde I have had since I was a goldilocked toddler. I immediately noticed that my hair was drier and harder to brush – so I was so glad to get a place in the Elvive Colour Protect Trial. Details: Cost? supermarkets sell them for $5 a bottle (not on special) Smell? Not too strong on the purfume – quite typical of other shampoos Feel/Consistency? Some shampoos are too watery – this has a thicker consistency, which made me think it had lots of good stuff in it! (or I imagined it did!) Results? Only TWO applications of the combo (shampoo + Conditioner) and I had 3 people in one day say – “hey, did you do something to your hair?” – I was so happy!! The cherry on the top was my boyfriend commenting on how nice my hair looked as well! The shampoo cleaned my hair in a gentle but robust way- in other words my hair felt really clean but not STRIPPED bare of any natural goodness like some shampoos leave you. I wash my hair only 2-3 times a week, and it doesn’t take much shampoo each time so the product will last ages! I would totally recommend this to a friend who has coloured their hair recently – immediate, noticeable results = Yes please!
Tips: Concentrate on the roots as thats where it needs the shampoo the most - and ALWAYS follow up with Conditioner for the lengths and ends!
A really nice shampoo that doesn't strip your hair of everything. My hair is very dry and often impersonates straw so I was hoping this shampoo was going to be super moisturising, and it was. It's quite thick so I needed a little extra water to get up a good lather and I really liked the smell. Did t do much for the colour of my hair but it definitely ticked all the other boxes. Will get again for sure
Tips: Might need extra water for a good lather
