I have long thick hair and I usually buy salon Conditioner so both myself ( and my wallet) were very excited to try the conditioner in hope of a "drug store miracle" but unfortunately that was not the case, I LOVED the smell and how clean and nice my hair looked after using this product however it made my hair too fluffy and soft to deal with, I like to mix my hair style during the week for work, either by leaving out straightened or up in a bun and I tried both styles after using the product and my hair was just too fluffy and static with god and my hair bun would not hold :( I was quite disappointed as the product smelt amazing!!

I'm usually a big fan of L'Oréal as a company, most of their cosmetics and products I totally fawn over. Sadly, though, this conditioner totally fell short of my expectations!
My hair is naturally curly, long, and has been quite damaged recently due to colour treatments and straightening. So I was super excited to test out this conditioner that claimed to be able to totally solve my problems! I use conditioner daily as part of my hair care routine, and after using up the entire bottle of this product, the results were...meh.
I noticed no real change in my hair, in terms of strength, fullness, being revitalised, silky, or shiny. It pretty much stayed exactly the same! I also found that this conditioner did very little to help detangle my curls in the shower each morning - I had to use double the amount of product that I usually use just to comb through the knots. Unimpressed.
The product did smell really nice, and the packaging was eye-catching. But unfortunately that's all I can really say that I liked about this product. Bummer!
I'm pretty neutral on this conditioner (and the shampoo too). The texture is quite runny and the scent is quite light. My hair feels silky and manageable, but not as vibrant as usual.
It's a fine shampoo, but not the best ever.
Well like my review for the shampoo I wasn't overly impressed with this conditioner. Again it left me with the feeling like my hair had been coated with something chemically that leaves the feel of softness and repair, but I don't think it actually repaired my hair at all. It made my hair really soft, which is ok, but my hair is thin and so this softness made it incredibly fly-away in the lengths, quite static-like which is just a pain to control without putting product in my hair. I do like that it has a nice smell, and that you don't need much of it but I think I'll be sticking with my salon shampoo and conditioner.
Tips: Leave the conditioner in for a little while, I found when I didn't my hair didn't feel like I had conditioned it.
Firstly this product smells amazing, almost like freesias or a floral perfume. It has simple but classy packaging in the standard upside down, flip top style bottle. I am used to having a pump in the shower for my regular conditioner so it was a little bit more fiddly than usual. It would be good to see this product in a pump style bottle too. I found the consistency of the product quite runny so I tried to squeeze as much water out of my hair as I could before I applied it. I have to mention the scent again, because it is really lovely and does make your hair smell divine! I would agree with number 1, 2 and 4 (of the Total Repair 5). I do think it made my hair stronger and fuller (and as a extra bonus it did help to define my natural curls a little more). I can't really say that it did number 3 or 5 for me (it didn't make my hair shiner or more feel more revitalised). Overall, I think the scent was the best thing about this product for me.
Tips: I used the 60 Second Miracle Treatment weekly, in addition to this conditioner for an extra pampering for my hair! I have an oily scalp so only used it on my roots.
Unfortunately this conditioner didn't do a great job in my hair. It didn't achieve the 5 things it says it would in the description. Something I noticed was I had to use a lot more of this product than usual to detangle my wavy/curly hair and this still didn't do a great job compared to other conditioners. The conditioner was a nice consistency - nice and thick. The smell was neutral, I probably prefer more of a fruity smell to be refreshed after conditioning my hair.
Tips: Buy on special to trial this incase it doesn't work for you either.
So I've just finished my review on the first half of this trial which was the shampoo and now I'll be doing the conditioner. Like I said in my review for the shampoo I was very disappointed with the results I got while using this combo except for how smooth and silky it left my hair. I loved the smell and the way it feels so I guess the conditioner part did its job. I wouldnt use one without the other so this shampoo and conditioner is not for me. Out of the 5 things this shampoo and conditioner said it was going to do I only noticed the one. I was hoping that this was the product I was looking for to help revive my lifeless and dry hair but no such luck. Thank you though to the team at BR for picking me to do this trial, now I know which product doesnt work and to keep looking for a shampoo and conditioner.
I bleach my hair so I'm always in need of a good conditioner that will help to repair my hair. I tried the L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Conditioner after using the L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Shampoo oping that they would wok well in conjunction with each other. The conditioner was a nice creamy texture and I had to use quite a bit to coat my long hair. It has a nice scent but nothing special. When I condition my hair, I run my fingers through my hair to comb out any knots. With this conditioner in my hair it was a nightmare to run my fingers through and I ended up with more knots than I started with. It took my a while to work them out. I did find that my hair felt really soft after using the product however it dried quite frizzy. I got my hair coloured later in the day and my hairdresser commented on how soft and clean my hair was (which is great) but she mentioned that it was frizzy because all the natural oils had been removed from my hair. I wouldn't purchase this again due to the fact that it made my hair so knotty when I was conditioning it.
L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 conditioner has a pleasant fragrance, even though it is quite strong it was nice to use. The bottle was better designed than the shampoo as it sat on the widest end of the bottle and the writing was the right way up. I had trouble dispensing the correct amount each time and wasted a lot of conditioner in the first week because too much came out at once. This was not as noticeable with the conditioner as it was with the shampoo, as it did not lather, but it still took more rinsing to get the conditioner out. My hair gets very dry and brittle through bleaching so it is important for me to use a product that is able to repair and rejuvenate to reduce the effect from harsh chemicals. I found that the conditioner made a difference to my hair after shampooing and made it feel silky and soft but only when I ran my hands through it. Overall, for the price and feel of my hair I would recommend it to others, and the fragrance is really nice.
Tips: For both the shampoo and conditioner it is easier to control the amount that is dispensed by giving it a gentle squeeze as a lot comes out at once if you squeeze it normally.
I had high hopes for this product. I love love love the Elvive range and this promised so much. I was excited. Unfortunately it fell flat. My hair, on the other hand did not. It did this weird boofy headed thing, not cool.
I found I had to use a lot of this which is never a good sign with a conditioner. My hair just seemed to drink it up and want more which is something other Elvive's haven't done but other supermarket brands have.
Most importantly, I didn't get the results I expected, the results that were promised to me. Feeling stronger? Who can tell? Looking fuller? Perhaps, but in the wrong way, boof is never desirable. Looking revitalised? Um no. Silkier to touch? Most definitely not, in fact quite straw-like.With a healthier shine? Not that I noticed.
There is an Elvive for everyone but this one clearly isn't for me unfortunately.
