I found that the conditioner was not moisturising and nourishing enough for my hair, and found that my hair was getting a lot more split ends and damage than I would normally get with my regular shampoo and conditioner. For the first couple of weeks my hair did look more shiny, fuller and softer but by the third week my hair started looking more coarse and dry and more damaged than usual. I only used heat styling once this whole time trialing and used a good heat protector so I didn't have any reason for my hair to have so many split ends. Overall it didn't really live up to its Total Repair name =(
Tips: I did like the shampoo, I felt it cleansed my hair great and didn't leave it looking very frizzy or fluffy like some shampoos do.
This conditioner has saved my dull and frizzy dry hair, after using it for a couple of weeks now I have noticed so much difference to the way my hair looks when it dries! I never use hair dryers and let my hair dry naturally which when it use to dry would be knotty and frizzy, now its soft and looks thick and very shiny! I loved the smell, the packaging but I really didn't like the consistency of the product. First time I used it I swear half the bottle came out into my hand... I wasted a lot because it was so terribly runny. I like my conditioners being thick and this was runnier than the shampoo. A lot of the time I was worried it wasn't even in my hair. I would buy this again for myself if I couldn't find a thicker alternative by Elvive first! In the end it worked well and my hair is looking healthier and feels smoother than it has in years!
I used this conditioner alongside the shampoo for over two weeks. During that time I noticed that my hair felt healthier, looked shinier, had less breakage, less flyaways, and was more manageable. My hair can go from very dry (which it was when I started using this product) to very oily very quickly but this product made my hair feel well conditioned without feeling oily. It didn't produce miracles, but made my hair feel noticeably better. I liked that went along way and had a nice fragrance that wasn't too strong. It's a great price for a supermarket conditioner also.
I liked the consistency of this conditioner, it was just the right level of thickness and spread through my hair easily. It's got a good smell too, sweet but not florally. I have long hair but found that I only needed about a $2 sized dollop to get full coverage. I also tended to leave it on for 2-3 minutes while in the shower which also helped with the results. Price wise it's about the same as my current conditioner (Dove) and the packaging is attractive. My hair is certainly softer at the ends than it has been with using this in conjunction with the shampoo and the intensive conditioner once a week. I would certainly buy this again but wouldn't say it's a "must have" to friends.
Tips: Comb through to the ends then leave on for 2-3 minutes while in the shower.
When combined with the matching shampoo it seems to work well. My hair was soft and shiny with a nice curl. A nice curl is really important when you have really curly hair. The scent of the shampoo and conditioner was nice, not too overpowering. I did find the consistency a little runny but the affect was good. I would purchase this product (with the shampoo) again but only if it was on special as it is a little over my budget.
Tips: As with any conditioner always use lots. I always leave a little in my hair (as it is extra curly) and this makes it easier for taming those knots.
Firstly this product smells amazing, almost like freesias or a floral perfume. It has simple but classy packaging in the standard upside down, flip top style bottle. I am used to having a pump in the shower for my regular conditioner so it was a little bit more fiddly than usual. It would be good to see this product in a pump style bottle too. I found the consistency of the product quite runny so I tried to squeeze as much water out of my hair as I could before I applied it. I have to mention the scent again, because it is really lovely and does make your hair smell divine! I would agree with number 1, 2 and 4 (of the Total Repair 5). I do think it made my hair stronger and fuller (and as a extra bonus it did help to define my natural curls a little more). I can't really say that it did number 3 or 5 for me (it didn't make my hair shiner or more feel more revitalised). Overall, I think the scent was the best thing about this product for me.
Tips: I used the 60 Second Miracle Treatment weekly, in addition to this conditioner for an extra pampering for my hair! I have an oily scalp so only used it on my roots.
My hair has new life! Hallelujah. Does everything it says it will - my hair is silky, soft and strong.
I have used the L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Conditioner for 3 weeks along with the shampoo & can't say i'm convinced that this product does what it says it will. I didn't notice my dry hair became any softer, shinier or generally healthier. If anything i found i needed to use more styling products to keep my hair looking smooth & shiny. I loved the smell & the consistency of the conditioner & found that i didn't need too much to coat my shoulder length hair. Overall it was a good conditioner but if i wanted to improve the condition of my dry hair it wouldn't be the one i would reach for on the shelf.
I always prefer conditioner as it's what makes my hair look nourished. This gave me defined curls and looked like it dealt to my split ends a little bit. I did find these products better than my other 'drugstore' products and had similar effects to the products you trial at the hairdressers.
Tips: Coat your hair in conditioner and wrap your hair in gladwrap for a great treatment.
