So I have quite long hair, it's pretty wrecked from bleach and I was hoping this would be the answer to my hair prayers... I like the bottle, its easy to hold and open in the shower and I guess what you expect a conditioner bottle should look like. The texture is quite nice, and really easy to spread through your hair, and the smell isn't over powering. I really wanted to love this product, but after using it coupled with the matching shampoo my hair was drier than usual and so tangled and knotty constantly, I thought maybe I need to give it a bit more of a chance to work it's magic but after using it several more times I am certain this is not the one for me.

I purchased these a while ago, thinking 'oh L'Oreal is good' but i was fooled. This is NOT the same sort of L'Oreal you buy from the salon. I strongly disliked the smell and didn't find it nourishing what so ever! I think i still have these products years later as i never used but hold on to the 'just in case' moment where i may need to use it hehehe
I was super excited to trial both this and the matching shampoo, upon receiving the product the bottle was attractive and a decent size. After shampooing I used this, I found it had a very unpleasant fragrance, not like the shampoo which smelt lovely. Applying to the ends of my hair I felt like I needed quite a large amount, even with the product on my hair it didnt feel coated or smooth as a conditioner usually feels, after rinsing it out, my hair felt awful, worse than before washing it. Once dried etc my roots felt silky and smooth but the ends most definitely did not, I gave this conditioner a go for almost two weeks but have had to stop using it as my hair feels terrible and I am having a large amount of residue left on my scalp (yes it is completely rinsed out) I'm not sure whether this is from the conditioner or the shampoo though. I really wanted to love this product but sadly I will not be using it again...
Tips: Apply sparingly to the roots and plenty on the ends
To start, my first impression of this conditioner was that it smelt amazing. The smell also stays on for some more time after washing.
It leaves the scalp and hair clean and fresh.
L'Oreal claimed this conditioner would restore my hair back to its optimum health, however the product was a little disappointing. I don't think it made my hair any better than it was before. It did make my hair incredibly straight if I washed before bed and woke up in the morning which was a bonus.
I started off with high hopes with this product, and it just didn't live up to its expectations, I probably wouldn't purchase this type next time around.
I was so excited to try this conditioner. I used it after a very, VERY good first impression of its counterpart, L'Oréal Paris Elvive Total Repair 5 Shampoo (gosh, what a mouthful!). The shampoo initially felt amazing, it detangled while I washed, and felt super silky, so I was expecting a real treat from the confitioner. I didn't haaate it in that it did anything actively bad to my hair (I didn't like what the shampoo did to my hair after a couple of uses, so tried this alone), but it was just extremely underwhelming. It was very thin, didn't feel rich or silky, and actually did a poorer job of detangling my hair than the shampoo! That was odd.. I gave a 2 for "Would you use it again?", as I will finish the bottle (whereas I will not use the shampoo again, at all), but this is not a conditioner I would choose to purchase, as if just didn't do anything for my hair, let alone do what it said it would. It's just a very average conditioner. I'm glad I was able to trial these two products, as I am often very curious when it comes to these wild claims from lower priced products, but after personal experience, I can safely say my salon products work better for my hair.
Tips: I think it's always good to try. I dye my hair black and heat treat it, so it may need a bit more nourishment than somebody else's hair. At less than $10, it isn't like you're breaking the bank.
I have quite long, thick, damaged hair. This conditioner promised to make it feel healthier, softer and silkier, as well as repairing it. To some extent it did, but it didn't work as well as my Redken conditioner. I also didn't notice any difference in the health of my hair after using it for the full trial period.
I had to use massive amounts of this conditioner just to feel any difference in my hair, so I've basically run out of it by the end of the trial period (less than a month). Generally, I would expect conditioner to last a little longer than that. It's probably not worth it for the price.
"L’Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Restoring Crème Conditioner uses Pro-Keratin and Ceramide to leave your hair 1. Feeling stronger. 2. Looking fuller. 3. Looking revitalised. 4. Silkier to touch. 5. With a healthier shine." My hair didn't feel like it benefited from this shampoo and conditioner or the spray on leave-in conditioner when I would wash it (every 3 days-ish). I used all 3 in conjunction with each other and it made the ends of my hair very dry and straw-like after switching from Natures Organics Balancing shampoo and conditioner. I didn't like these products and wouldn't repurchase again.
The scent of this product is amazing but the formula and the product its self is horrible for my hair type. all it did for me was make my hair look greasy!
Tips: only use if your hair is bleached or extremely dead.
The packaging for this product is nice, simple and clear. All information is easy to read and the ingredients and what the product is supposed to do is clearly stated on the bottle. I needed to use quite a bit of product to completely cover my hair and the first time just massaged it in and rinsed as stated on bottle but felt my hair was dry still so the next time I used it I left it in for about 5 minutes and felt that made my hair a bit softer but was still knotted and had to brush out and use a leave in conditioner after. I didn't feel my hair was stronger, fuller, revitalized, silkier or shinier after use so I was left disappointed with this product. The one thing I did like was the scent, it was nice and fresh and lasted really well - probably 12hrs I could still smell it quite strongly in my hair which was really nice. All in all, I wouldn't use this product again.
Tips: My hair is dense, heavy and long. This may work better on finer, shorter hair :) Try it for yourself.
I am a hairdresser by trade so I was keen to give supermarket brands a whirl and see what they are like. I have been using Redken for about 7 years.
This conditioner is horrible!! It is so watered down and thin. It made my hair knotty and messy that I could not even run my fingers through my wet hair. A problem I have not had since I was 12!
I mixed and matched the Redken conditioner and shampoo with this Loreal conditioner and shampoo. Every time I used this conditioner, no matter if it was Redken shampoo or Loreal, my hair was in tatters. However, if I used any of the shampoos and my Redken conditioner, my hair was smooth and lovely. So it was definitely the conditioner at fault.
The shampoo was great, but the conditioner did not work well with my hair type.
Tips: Don't hesitate to mix different shampoo and conditioner brands. If you've got a great shampoo but a bad conditioner, just mix and match till you find the perfect combo.
