This product comes in a no-nonsense plastic tube. Simple, with a black screw top. On the back it describes which finish, wear time, coverage and texture relate to that product, which is very helpful if you’re looking at the range in a store. I didn’t read it before I tried the product (you don’t consult the map until you’re lost, right?). If I had, I would’ve noticed it said ‘radiant finish, 24 hours wear, medium coverage, and air-light texture’. And I would’ve been very happy with those claims.
So, the product colour I chose is creamy natural, which is ideal for my skin tone, which is light/medium, my skin type which is dry, and my complexion which is uneven but not overly so. It is kind-of pale brown and you can see it through the tube. The product is surprisingly thin. As I was applying it I was struck by how light it is and how much like CC cream the finish is. I use CC cream and usually tinted foundation every day, as I like to keep things as light as possible and that combination works well. I do use foundation for various occasions though. And I do sometimes just use CC cream if I’m not going too far that day. I found that this foundation covers both CC cream and tinted foundation in one so I can use it alone. The coverage isn’t heavy, so wouldn’t cover a lot of major blemishes, but that’s fine by me as it is perfectly able to cover my skin imperfections. I dot it on my face, as recommended on the pack, and roll it around with my beauty blender, for a smooth finish. The finish is radiant, as per the product claim.
I would say this foundation is ideal for anyone to use, but may be particularly suitable for young skin that doesn’t require heavy coverage, and mature skin that often looks unnatural under heavy foundation. But having said that, it really is ideal for anyone who likes or requires a light to moderate coverage and who likes the finish of a face that started with CC cream.
It lasts me all day at work, so 7am until 5.30pm, but I wash my face when I get home so don’t know how much longer it would last. It is as easily removed as any other foundation. I use a cleanser and wipes and it doesn’t leave any trace on my skin.
Another positive is that it is SPF15 rather than no SPF which is usual for the products I normally use. I really like it!
$40 is certainly a fair price for this product. I’ve found some great foundations via BR over the years, but this one is amongst the best for my skin colour and type, because of its lightness and the ‘CC’effect. I highly recommend it.
This is one of my new favourite foundations, I have very dry skin so dewy/ glowy foundations are great for me. I don't like superrr full coverage but I also don't like being able to see all my redness and this foundation covered everything perfectly without looking cakey or too full coverage! It wore throughout the day quite nicely I wouldn't recommend to girls with oily skin as I can see it getting quite oily throughout the day but for me with dry skin, this works wonders. I personally think the colour range is okay, they could obviously have more available for girls in New Zealand as to my knowledge there is only 6 shades available which is not much. If you have normal or dry skin I definitely think give this foundation a go it is perfect for girls who don't like super full coverage but also don't like sheer - no coverage foundations, for me it is the perfect amount of coverage and that is why I love it so much!
Tips: if you have oily skin and want to try this, use a lot of setting powder as naturally, it is a dewy foundation and if you have oily skin it might slide around a bit more :)
