I love the smell of this stuff the smell last all night too. I like how my skin is soft after using both mask and cleanser. It does brighten my skin but not for long. So its not really good for oily skin. The mask is awesome when it comes off it doesnt stain the face clothe it just washes right off. But ot doesn't taste very nice. I use the cleanser daily and have noticed my acne isnt as bad as it usally is. The mask tightened my skin I use ot every three days. I have stopped using my other chemical facial cleanser so over all it cleanses but does not help with oily skin
Tips: Do not get it in your mouth and take before and after pics to see the difference.
First thing the packaging is simple and works alongside the rest of the 'Pure Clay' range. The cleanser comes in a squeeze tube and the mask comes in a glass tub.
The tube for the cleanser is easy to use and as the cleanser itself is a good consistency it means it is easy to control the amount you use.
The mask comes in a glass container which makes it feel more high-end and expensive. There is also a small reusable seal disk to place on before the lid to keep it more air tight - being a clay mask you don't want it to dry out unless its on your face!
Both products have a typical clay smell and are both the same charcoal in colour. The cleanser when used turns into a slight creamy foam when mixed with water. I washed my face in small circular motions avoiding the eye area.
Once rinsed off my face felt clean and fresh but it did feel a little bit dry which was something I was worried it might do. I tried it both with the mask afterwards and also applying moisturiser straight away. With just using the cleanser then adding moisturiser my skin felt good.
Using it with the mask afterwards felt alright it was like a super deep clean - it did feel a bit drying for my skin. After using the cleanser morning and night, I didn't really notice any improvements or any change to my skin, apart from the slight dryness once rinsed off.
The mask itself was really nice - I like being able to see the oils and imperfections that have been drawn out once my mask has dried. The mask lightens to a light grey colour, and the oily imperfections remain darker.
I prefer to use the mask 1-2 times a week depending on what my skin is like and alternate the cleanser with my standard one to ensure my skin doesn't get too dry.
I will definitely purchase the mask again but the cleanser is a bit of a miss for me.
Tips: Apply the mask with a paddle makeup brush as it makes the application so much easier.
Wow. Who would have thought putting clay in a cleanser would be such a cool idea? L'Oreal, that's who.
I've really enjoyed using this regime. The gel formula of the cleanser was a nice surprise - and a little went a long way. It has a floral scent, which is a bit strong for me, but it doesn't linger so it's not a big deal. I did find that on my skin it was a touch harsh on the drier areas, so I went from using it twice a day to once a day (with a gentler cleanser in the morning) and it evened out. It says it leaves your skin brighter and more beautiful. I can safely say that my pimples have backed off, and my skin looks really refreshed after using it.
The mask is my favourite out of the two products. It has a gentle floral/clay scent, which I enjoyed. It dried down easily enough and removing it with a warm flannel was easy. The best bit? How my skin looked after? Clean as a whistle. And the blackhead/pore-heavy areas looked much more polished. I've been using this once a week and will gladly repurchase this once it runs out. Also, the packaging is so luxurious. It looks a bit fancy on my bathroom shelf!
They say the range is suitable for all skin types, however I would hesitate to recommend this to my friends with super dry skin as I did find it left my non-oily areas drier than usual.
Tips: Don't get the cleanser in your eyes - it stiiiiiiings.
