L’Oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes Balm Noir Mascara

Let’s start with the packaging… sleek, smooth with no plastic in sight. The mascara fitted perfectly in the box and there was no cardboard wastage.

The mascara itself was easy to use and gave me brilliant results. I didn’t have to wait for it dry and then layer more on like other mascara because it gave me the lashes I was after. I was complimented on my makeup and it really took no effort at all. I would definitely recommended this product and once I run out, I think it’s going to be my go to from now on.

Let's start off with what I loved about this mascara - it's formula is fragrance-free and hypoallergenic, something my eyes are thankful for (application, wearing and removal I never had any eye irritation!).

The brush seems to be a little over-hyped, I wouldn't say it was anywhere near "individual lash by lash separation, for millionized lashes". It's not the worst brush, but it certainly didn't separate my lashes that well.

The mascara applied somewhat clumpy. I'm not sure what the "anti-clump wiper" is, but if it exists it wasn't removing excess formula like it was advertised.

Overall? Despite the mascara applying clumpy and the brush not separating lashes for "millionized" lashes, I actually liked it... I used a different mascara brush I keep on hand to separate my lashes after I applied it and it turned out great. My eyelashes looked thicker and longer, my eyes didn't get irritated and it lasted long enough for what I'd expect of a non-waterproof mascara (plus it was super easy to remove afterwards. No panda eyes!).

Is this the holy grail of mascaras I've been searching for? Unfortunately, no. Is it good enough for everyday occasions though? It sure is.

I have been using this mascara all week. Packaging is pretty, similar to the entire VML range this time with a full black bottle and gold lid/wand handle. Loved the short bristled silicone wand, this helped get the product really close to the base of the lash. The excess product is already removed when opening the product which makes it ready to go with no big clumps of product ending up all over your eye. After one layer I definitely noticed my lashes were lengthened and the many short bristles on the brush helped coat each lash individually. During the day while at work I wore a max of 3 layers and found that it lasted around 7hours with very minimal smudging under the lower lash line and no flaking which is great as I work in a tiny construction office that can get very humid and dusty. However I did notice the more layers I applied (to get that thick full spider eye look) the more my lashes stuck together and the product begun to clump up. For me though 2 layers would be more then enough. Because of this I would say this mascara is more of a daily wear or a enhanced natural-look lashes. As this is a balm-in-mascara I wondered how this would help my lashes, I found they were soft and conditioned. The mascara came off easily with micellar and a makeup removal pad. A bonus is how light the mascara is on the lashes, most volume mascaras can leave your lashes feeling heavy this was unnoticeable. Price varies drastically depending on where you purchase this from ($31.99 at Farmers or as cheap as $19.12 at Chemist Warehouse).

I wear contact lenses daily suffer from hay fever and didn’t find the mascara irritating at all which is a bonus.

All in all I really enjoyed using this mascara, and will continue to use it. I have already added it to my online cart. Would definitely recommend for a light-weight volume and lengthening mascara.

I'm talking serious lash gaps ladies. No clumpy, sticky lashes. This mascara will take your lashes to the next level. Light to wear, not heavy on your lashes like other brands. I have SUPER sensitive skin & eyes, the Volume Million Lashes Balm Noir Mascara has been a dream to wear. No irritation, no dryness. It's easy to apply & doesn't feel uncomfortable - lash pulling - to remove. I used warm water on a reusable microfiber pad followed by a gentle toner. I would absolutely repurchase this product x

I really loved the idea of this mascara, and it has definitely lived up to my expectations. I wear mascara almost everyday and have quite sensitive eyes and definitely notice if a new mascara is causing irritation. I didn't have any problems with this at all! After a few days of using this I've definitely noticed that my eyelashes feel really nice. It doesn't clump and adds volume so well!

This is truly a great mascara. I thought what I was using was good until BR sent me this to trial. It goes on so smoothly with no clumps and best of all stays on with no smudging! It feels light on the lashes which is great because I have thin lashes and to know it's made from 99% natural ingredients is fantastic! Okay so I am insanely picky with mascara.

I cannot stand anything that makes my straight yet long lashes not hold a curl or anything that's too clumpy. Usually I find volumising mascaras tend to sit in "team clumpy".

So when I was invited to this trial and saw it said "balm mascara" I thought maybe I'll give this a go.

I have used this for my zoom calls - Aucklands in lockdown and let's face it. We're all doing bare minimum to look human on zoom.

On the first call with one of my team one of the girls asks "are you wearing falsies?!". I wasn't. It was this mascara.

It doesn't claim to lengthen but does hold a curl beautifully and it's very soft. My lashes still feel like my own.

I will say it was a little hard to remove but that may just be me. A good oil cleanser will get rid of this fairly well.

All in all I'm pretty happy with this and will continue to use this!

I found that this product was good for those wanting natural and buildable volume. It did take a lot more swipes than my usual Mascara to get the volume and length that I am after. I do prefer waterproof as I do have oily eyelids and undereyes so I found that it transfers and gives me darker eyes. This would be better for someone who doesn't have a habit of touching their eyes too! But I love the colour - very dark black and strong colour which was good! Doesn't give off the dry ashy black colour that lots of mascaras have.
