I bought the medium shade from Farmers for roughly $20+ while it was on sale and I’m thankful I didn’t pay full price because the performance is shocking. The rose gold pink-like packaging is truly stunning which could easily rival its expensive relative in the same product group YSL Touche Éclat Highlighter & Concealer pen.
It’s a twist pen and the product is easily dispensed. It has a crème-like consistency which once blended into the skin you can tell it’s quite thin. When I swatched this on my hand at Farmers it appeared to have a salmon undertone which works well for my chocolate skin. However it translated quite differently once applied to the undereye area.
The salmon undertone has a very strong white base and on my skin it didn’t look highlighted at all but more so ashy. I set it the Marc Jacobs Instamarc filtering contour powder (the light shade) and was extremely annoyed to find that by morning tea time it had already creased and the product was clearly breaking away to the point I could see my bare skin underneath. I have tried a number of different primers and setting powders but nothing seems to keep this product in place.
I could have managed the ashiness (since some brands only seem to come out with limited shade selections) however the lack of performance is not worth repurchasing so even looking at the DARK option doesn't interest me.
This product comes in a lovely package and you would imagine that the concealer would be magic. The concealer is so cakey, it doesn’t matter how much you blend or the quality of your brushes. It creases and cracks and ruins the look of your make up. The coverage is terrible. You might as well just add more foundation to attempt to cover your pimples- it would do the same job as this concealer. I hated the applicator, you twist it to dispense the product however you are constantly twisting then then pen releases too much concealer. I found this product did not highlight at all.
Tips: Do not purchase!
