I recently picked up the lightest shade from the range which was on offer at my local Farmers which turned out to be C2 - Rose Porcelain. Even though it screamed like alarm bells in my head that rose will mean it will have a pink undertone I took my chances on this over $40 foundation without testing as I hate doing that in store, besides the testers were all caked up and nasty a real turn off, but Loreal foundations have always been kind to me so felt some reassurance.
The glass bottle is chic and looks great with it's accents of rose gold, it appeals to me big time. With an acrylic clear lid and white dispenser pump which works a treat.
Formula wise aside from the colour it is a brilliant foundation and will be excellent for those who suffer from dry skin, I personally have combination skin and it played nicely on my face without sinking into the pores or transferring off my face. It creates a soft inner light glow with a light nod to the pink undertone which just looks a little dark on my skin, it isn't a great big deal but I notice it which puts me off using the rest of it. Keeping it though so I can mix it with lighter shades as it wears so well.
The L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation was a foundation that I'd hoped would be fantastic but unfortunately wasn't the perfect foundation for me.
Firstly, I found they didn't have quite the right foundation for my skin tone. I picked the shade Rose Porcelain which while at first glance was a pretty good match I did find it was a bit pinker than my skin tone. So I ended up mixing it with a more another foundation. Their foundations seemed very rose or gold toned, which I think is part of why they didn't work for me, I need a more nude foundation.
The foundation itself was excellent quality though. It was a easy to blend liquid that sat well on the skin. It also lasted well on the skin (especially with powder and setting spray) with those it could last me all day. Coverage wise it was buildable so I could get a good solid coverage. The foundation also had SPF in it which I really like to have in a foundation.
The pump bottle this foundation came in was also great quality, pumped easily, lasted well and good quality materials used.
Basically everything but the shade was perfect. There are however other L'Oreal foundations that do the right shade for me, so I would certainly still use the brand, just not this particular one.
