L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo

Loved this shampoo! It was think and creamy. It did exactly what it said it would do, my hair feels smooth silky and healthy

I usually buy salon Shampoo so both myself ( and my wallet) were very excited to try the shampoo in hope of a "drug store miracle" but unfortunately that was not the case, I LOVED the smell and how clean and nice my hair looked after using this product however it made my hair too fluffy and soft to deal with, I like to mix my hair style during the week for work, either by leaving out straightened or up in a bun and I tried both styles after washing and my hair was just too fluffy and static with god and my hair bun would not hold :( I was quite disappointed as the product smelt amazing!!

Coming from someone who usually only uses salon products I found this product not bad. The smell is AMAZING and lingers throughout the day which is what I loved about the shampoo. Usually when ever I've used non salon products in the past my scalp is itchy the next day but with this shampoo I could wait my usual three days before washing my hair again and not be itching. The container is nice and bold so stands out. If I was To buy a supermarket shampoo again I wouldn't hesitate with picking this again.

Firstly my hair is very long, straight with a slight kink in it and is very very damaged. I've recently bleached my ends for the ombre effect so the ends are very dry and brittle. I usually wash my hair once or twice a week only for the fact that I dread combing my wet hair and seeing all the breakage, but for this trial I washed my hair every second day for 2 and a half weeks.

First impressions when I received my package was that the bottles were quite small. The bottles are thin and just a simple white and red label. It has a nice pleasant smell more of a clean refreshing smell rather than a sickly sweet fruity smell.

I first wet my hair thoroughly then used a palm size amount of shampoo and lathered it into my scalp first (as the directions state) them worked the rest in through the mid lengths and ends. After rinsing the shampoo out I was quite surprised that it didn't leave my hair all tangled and unmanageable. After the first wash there was still a lot of breakage but I noticed that towards the end of my trial there was definitely a lot less breakage. My ends are still very dry and my hair doesn't feel any smoother but I can tell that it is a lot more shiny.

Overall I am pleased with this product but not overly excited about it. My hair is still frizzy and dry but it has reduced the breakage which was what I really wanted.

After trialling the L'Oreal Paris Total Repair Shampoo for the last few weeks I have decided the product is not for me. The shampoo smelt great and left my hair feeling silkier to touch but in addition to this made my hair too fluffy and soft to handle. I didn't notice a huge different in the strength of my hair and my hair wasn't left looking fuller (there were just a lot more baby hairs visible due to the fluffiness). I do believe my hair was left with more shin than usual but overall the product isn't something I would personally purchase again.

I found the shampoo really harsh on my hair didn't feel clean or feel nice afterwards. I was really disappointed with it. I have fine hair and gets oily so I feel this didn't work for me just made my hair greasy.

So over the years I have tried all sorts of shampoos that will remove all dirt and grease from my hair without stripping the colour. I dye my hair every 3-4 months and currently it is a gorgeous violet berry purple! Before trying this shampoo I had tried another and almost cried as I watched half of my colour go down the drain...... and half of my hair! It was stripping my hair out of my head!!!

So, when I received this shampoo, naturally I was hesitant, so I made my partner try it first - no hair loss! Feeling a little more confidant in the product, it was my turn.

So lets start with the packaging. I found I kept dropping the bottle, it was quite hard for me to grip (carpal tunnel), but that's my issue - not yours. The caps were easy to open but sometimes got in the way of the product if not opened correctly.

Oh and the smell! It smelt soooo beautiful! reminded me of the conditioners that come with the home hair colouring products.

The shampoo itself came out looking pearly white and it was nice and thick too so it didn't run off my hand before I put it into my hair. It bubbled in my hair nicely and then the smell intensified which to be honest, I quite enjoyed. Gave me more of a clean feeling.

When I rinsed it out, however, like most shampoos, my hair felt very straw-like. I saw a small amount of my purple hair colour go down the drain but didn't notice any hair going with it!! YAY!!

So all in all, I have to say I quite like this product, it cleaned my hair the way a shampoo should!

This is an amazing shampoo which has rejuvenated my damaged hair. This is shampoo has a smooth, silky consistency and a a subtle fragant smell whcih leaves hair clean and fresh. After just one use my hair, which had previously been dried out at the ends due to blonde highlights, and had a tendency to be greasy and weighed down in near the roots, was left revitalised and healthy. The shampoo evened out my hair, leaving it silky all over and very smooth and clean looking. The dry ends, which were often brittle and appeared to be breaking are now stronger and smoother than ever. It works so well that my hair is still silky the next day, meaning I do not have to wash it every day as I previously had to. Perfect for remedying problem hair, especially when it is dried out!

This is a great substitute for salon shampoo as its a lot cheaper and does a good job, it has a beautiful fruity scent and nice thick/creamy, after one wash my hair was not as frizzy and felt nice and smooth, the more you use this the better your hair gets, it does do what it says, great product for a fantastic price!

I am SO impressed with this Total Repair Duo!! The shampoo is in a good sized especially for the retail price and is easy to squeeze the desired amount into your hand.

I love the light scent and the way this foams ups so quickly. Rinses out quite easily and leaves my hair feeling really clean.

I definitely am loving using this along with the matching conditioner. My hair is SO soft!!!!! I noticed the change in my hair only after the second wash. It has a lovely shine and and it really manageable making straighting it really fast.

In was thinking of dying my hair again but since using this it really has given it a new life and no longer feel the need to colour my hair!

Its fair to say I'm loving it!!!!
