I really liked this hair dye, it was super simple to apply and the amount you get is very generous. I have medium to long length hair and I had an ample amount after applying to my whole head. I find the colour awesome and very vibrant ( i used blackcurrant) and I have had lots of compliments since doing it. The give a huge amount of conditioner as well. The only thing I didn't like is the gloves they provide, they were really tight to get on and one ripped! I'm not sure if it's because I have big hands or??.. lol overall though, fab hair color and I'll be purchasing again! Thanks BR and L'Oréal!

Firstly - you'll notice that it's a tad more pricey than other at home hair dyes, but in my opinion it is totally worth it!
Firstly the packaging is great - it looks so sleek and pink and pretty. :) I bought mine in Black Cherry. The colour was great and it looked very similar to the model on the box for my dark hair colour. The one disappointing thing was the gloves - flimsy and rips easily which is not great, as I want the dye to end up on my hair not my fingers. However, I do like the formula of this one - more so than the Garnier one that I have also used. It doesn't sting the scalp like the Garnier one does, and it also smells better. Usually hair dyes give me a headache due to the smell, but the L'oreal one is great - smells gooood (for a hair dye).
I find that this formula is also a lot less drying, and coupled with the condition, I find that the colour lasts and my hair stays supple and smooth.
Overall, I really like the results - both the colour and the condition of my hair, and if I were to do a home-dye, I will definitely repurchase.
Tips: Put some vaseline or oil around the hairline - stops the product from staining the skin. :)
Was super excited when I came home to this product was so in need of new colour and decided that night to apply.
I was first surprised with the shape of the bottle. Instructions were easy to follow and the using the box as a stand was rather helpful as it stopped the solution going over my counter well I had hoped it would.
The solution itself is rather runny in fact that's the one negative I have of this product. If I held the applicator in slightly the wrong angle it ran every where down my face and in my sink which was a concern for me as we are renting and have to be super careful luckily was easy to clean off. There was plenty of product this the packet for me but I do have short hair so had to get rid of the rest. My hubby wasn't keen on trying it with me.
After leaving the colour on for the required it I was excited to rinse off and see the results. I was very impressed there was no patching, it covered my grey hair and I LOVED the colour. Infact its my favorite one I have tried in a long long time. I washed my hair and its still looking good which I was worried about as its only a semi-permanent colour. Would love it to become a colour in there permanent range.
Tips: the formula is a bit on the runny side so be careful and does stain towels so use a really old one.
This was so easy to mix and apply, the non drip creme did exactly that, which ment I could target those greys a lot easier. It did leave it on a bit longer then recommended, and to my surprise I actually managed to get all my hair done with the one application as my hair is so long, a bonus for me as it is a bit expensive. It washed out quite well and it did lather better then some other products. It did not have that chemical after smell afterwards and I loved the conditioner so much. Once my was dry, it was so shiny and I had no visible greys, Bonus!! Overall I was happy with the product but the price was still a bit expensive. I have washed my hair twice more since and the color still holds well. I do like how my ends seem to be in better condition. I look forward to seeing how long the depth of the color lasts.
It's been a long time since I've dyed my hair at home. A decade give or take? In fact it's been a long time since I've properly dyed my hair full stop. There were a few foils at a hairdressers a couple of years back, but that's it. What can I say? I wanted to see what colour my hair was after dying it for so many years. Turns out it's still poo brown. So what colour was I going to choose to dye my hair with? L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss has a huge range to choose from, so with all the shades under the sun I went for ...... brown. Praline to be exact. I liked the idea that it would elevate my hair, giving it shimmering tones in place of its current dullness... and I was never one for crazy hair colours. I know, I'm a bore.
The packaging is really cute - not just a boring rectangular box, it kind of reminded me of a tetra pack and it easily held the contents inside; the colour tube, the application bottle, the gloves and the supersized conditioner.
Dye creation was super easy and well explained on the accompanying leaflet. Pop on gloves (which were the perfect fit for my little hands, but I don't know how a normal-handed person would fit them), squeeze tube into applicator, shake, remove tip, then apply dye. Easy done! Application was probably the least messiest I've ever experienced, in that I didn't manage to flick any onto the bathroom surrounds. Win! I also didn't need to use the whole bottle, although I tried my best, but there was a lot of product in there and I have long but fine hair, so that much wasn't necessary for me, but would be perfect for thicker haired ladies. The dye initially felt a little warm on my head, and I had a brief moment of wondering if perhaps I ought to have done the patch test. It turns out I had nothing to worry about, as it didn't get any warmer - oh and the dye smell was minimal. In the old days I'd have to wait around 40 minutes for the dye to do its thing, but this required only 20. I was worried that wouldn't be enough time for the colour to develop, but it turns out I had nothing to worry about.
The dye washed out in super quick time and the conditioner made it feel lovely and silky. There's still a good two thirds of a bottle left over of the conditioner too. Usually I wouldn't bother blow drying my hair, but I was dying to see what it looked like! Needless to say, I was stoked! The colour had hints of auburn, it looked natural, and my hair looked really healthy. The only downside, is that I can't wear black clothing anymore, it just looks really wrong with my new colouring.
L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss surpassed my expectations, and I can't wait to try its many other shades of brown.
I found this product really easy to use and as it was crème, which means less chance of a mess (which is always good) I have very thick hair and was worried that I wouldn’t have enough product but I ended up with more than enough.
The colour was very rich and shiny and slightly darker than I expected, but as this is semi permanent, I know it will mellow with more washes. On a side note, the hair conditioner that comes in the pack smells lovely!
It’s only been a few washes now, but I am slightly sceptical that it will last the full 28 washes.
All in all, I found this to be a great formula so far.
Tips: I always make sure when I dye my hair, to put a thick amount of moisturiser around my hairline, to pretend any drips or stains on my skin
I asked for the Light Brown Casting creme Gloss.I found it easy to prepare and smooth to apply.
L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss left my hair feeling silky, shining and covered the horrible re-growth I had. It lightened my hair slightly but not by much as I have dark hair.
I was most impressed with the how easy and quick it was to prepare and apply. The shine and silky feeling when my hair dried. I let it dry naturally.
I would definitely use it again. I feel as though after a small number of times using this product I could have lighter hair and it would of been a healthy way of doing so, instead of stripping/bleaching my hair.
Colour choice : 1021- very light pearl blonde
First impression: wow what a different box! As soon as I opened the box I could smell the product! Loved it! Also the pink bottle! (not white for once) This really appealed to me!
Instructions for mixing and application were clear and very easy to follow. I used this to dye my regrowth.
Dye was easy flowing which really helped, and was quite bearable- this is a total plus to being ammonia free!!!!
After rinsing out the dye, I gave my hair a light shampoo and followed with the casting creme gloss conditioner. I was really happy with the amount of conditioner that was provided, the 60ml bottle gave me 2 good washes (I have long hair so I'm really happy about that). Instantly my hair felt so good! This is quite the opposite to other lighteners with ammonia. YAY!
The only downside of this hair dye was I found the smell of the conditioner, I found it quite strong after my hair had dried.
The result was brilliant! Came out a lot better then I had anticipated. Will definitely be purchasing this product in the future, and referring it to others! :)
Tips: For regrowth 1 box would be fine, if colouring/lightening all hair, I would recommend 2 boxes.
If you are wanting a light blonde, place tin foil over your hair once dye is applied. This really helps the application, check every 10 minutes till desired colour :)
I used - medium brown I love the simplicity of this product. Products that alter appearances permanently make me a little bit nervous usually but this stuff is amazing. The instructions are really clear and the products are easy to mix together. I found the texture and smell to be quite alright for hair dye too. The colour was very even and glossy looking.
Tips: Mosutise/ Vaseline around your hairline and keep an old towel handy for catching any drips
I trialed the licorice colour of this range, the packaging was bold and bright would stick out on the shelf for sure also the side of the box has a push out part to put the bottle in to hold it there while u put developer in,i mixed the two parts together and shook it up it mixed together very easily and smelt great was quick to apply i kept it in for recommended time of 20 minutes and that was all the time that was needed it washed out easily and the conditioner made my hair feel great im really impressed with the colour and how well it worked overall i am very happy with this product and will be using again in the future
