I was picked for the L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss trial.
I choose Black Currant.
Firstly I love the packaging, it's eye catching and a fun shaped box.
When I first opened up the box , there was a pleasant fruity scent coming through.
I must say the gloves were very fitting and I have long skinny fingers and bony hands and I was a little taken back by how small they were. These gloves wouldn't be suitable for someone with larger hands.
The mixing of the colour and the developer was easy.
Great bottle! Easy to handle. And very easy to mix the two together.
I was surprised at how much product came out of the bottle I was almost able to spread through all my hair and I have long hair.
It did not stink , it did not burn or itch or annoy me.
I love the fruity scent.
It washed off my skin with ease, however did run in the shower ALOT.
The Conditioner was amazing , very thick and creamy, it drenched my hair in moisture, I was surprised at that. Yummy scent.
After towel drying my hair , my hair is soft, shiny and not at all looking like I just coloured it!!
I will reuse again! I really liked the formula, scent and performance.
Also..it does covers greys exceptionally well!!
**thought I'd update it's now the 9th Feb, the colour is still strong in my hair, I have an inch of regrowth and still the same colour. So there you go :)
I left this review a little late as I wanted to make sure I gave the dye a fair shot and could see how it performed over a long period. As soon as I unboxed the dye, I was sold. The packaging is not like any dye I've used before. It's incredibly well thought out and easy to use. The bottle is designed in such a way that you can squeeze every last bit of dye out - not being able to use all the dye is a problem I have had with other at home kits. Because of the squeeze tube shape, you can't sit the bottle on its base like standard dye bottles; but they do have a fix for this - the box has a pre-cut hole in the side that simply push in to create a little bottle holder. Super handy for mixing the dye and sitting the bottle in during application. The applicator tip was also great for parting hair. Now, onto the actual product... The first thing I noticed was how the formula looked in the bottle. I had the colour dark brown and it mixed to a lovely smooth chocolate colour in the bottle. But my favourite feature would have to be the smell - the no ammonia is a god send and the reason I rate this so highly. I am particularly sensitive to the strong smell of dye and sometimes find I get an itchy head during application. Not with this product! It smelt fruity and was just like wearing a hair mask. It developed nicely and washed out easily, although it did leave some stubborn marks on my white shower which I found harder to get out than usual. After my hair dried I was really impressed with the colour. I am a natural blonde but I have been home dying my hair dark brown for about 10 years now. I find that if I put dark brown over a previous application it can end up looking incredibly dark and almost black which I do not like. I was apprehensive about using this dye so close to my last treatment but I was really happy with the results. It didn't make the colour darker and the reddish/brown tones look great in natural light. I try to spend around $12 when I buy my bottle dye, but after my experience this dye will be my go to. Although priced slightly higher than most home dyes, this product is definitely worth it.
Tips: Be careful when washing out in the shower - the product seemed to mark my white shower walls more than regular dye but did come off with a good scrub!
