I had had a really bad hair disaster and in which the hairdresser messed up my ombre hair and had instead bleached it dry. So I decided to buy the truffle brown colour to sort of fix it. It stayed in for quite a long time by my standards. I dyed my hair about 2-3 months ago and it's still good now, though fading a tad. The bee jelly shampoo and conditioner is lovely and gives you a healthy shine and moisturises your hair well afterwards.

Reviews
Tips: It IS semi-permanent so just be aware of that. It does smell a bit.
L'0real casting Creme is easy to use. It gives a natural colour with natural looking variations to the hair colour. It leaves my hair feeling soft and healthy and is easy to reapply every few weeks. I use a range of colour in the 5 range and this keeps the hair colour looking very natural.
Tips: Check face after you have applied the colour and wipe off any excess that could stain the skin. Don't leave on longer than the recommended time
I am a fan of both the Chocolate and Iced Chocolate shade for a natural looking warm brown, and their easy to follow directions mean that doing a home hair colour job is no sweat. I find that the colour lasts well and the finish is shiny, with plenty of conditioner to top up the shine factor for a few weeks after the initial application. The product is highly fragranced, and I could do without such a strong smell but it isn't a major.
Thank you so much for this opportunity! I used it the night that it arrived in the mail. It was such an easy hair dye to use and was such an even colour. I've had bad experiences in the past with hair colour but this one has been the best ever! My hair was light brown to start so I chose the shade iced chocolate and it made it go a little darker but looks really natural! Super impressed with the results!!
Tips: Make this your go to hair dye!!
My hair is naturally dark blonde, and I got this to trial in the shade Dark Blonde to enhance my hair's colouring and to keep it looking natural.
The instructions were easy to follow, the pack included gloves, developer, colour tube and some conditioner. It was easy to mix together, and applying it was easy as it was quite a thick liquid, and covered all my medium length hair. The smell wasn't overpowering as it does not contain ammonia. I left it in for about 25 minutes to develop, then washed it out. The pack came with some delicious smelling conditioner, which was used after rinsing my hair. Once my hair was dryed off, my hair is super soft and glossy. My hair has a lovely intensity and sheen to it that it was previously lacking. And I love how it has taken some of the frizziness away. I would definitely recommend using this product again!
Firstly - you'll notice that it's a tad more pricey than other at home hair dyes, but in my opinion it is totally worth it!
Firstly the packaging is great - it looks so sleek and pink and pretty. :) I bought mine in Black Cherry. The colour was great and it looked very similar to the model on the box for my dark hair colour. The one disappointing thing was the gloves - flimsy and rips easily which is not great, as I want the dye to end up on my hair not my fingers. However, I do like the formula of this one - more so than the Garnier one that I have also used. It doesn't sting the scalp like the Garnier one does, and it also smells better. Usually hair dyes give me a headache due to the smell, but the L'oreal one is great - smells gooood (for a hair dye).
I find that this formula is also a lot less drying, and coupled with the condition, I find that the colour lasts and my hair stays supple and smooth.
Overall, I really like the results - both the colour and the condition of my hair, and if I were to do a home-dye, I will definitely repurchase.
Tips: Put some vaseline or oil around the hairline - stops the product from staining the skin. :)
I asked for the Light Brown Casting creme Gloss.I found it easy to prepare and smooth to apply.
L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss left my hair feeling silky, shining and covered the horrible re-growth I had. It lightened my hair slightly but not by much as I have dark hair.
I was most impressed with the how easy and quick it was to prepare and apply. The shine and silky feeling when my hair dried. I let it dry naturally.
I would definitely use it again. I feel as though after a small number of times using this product I could have lighter hair and it would of been a healthy way of doing so, instead of stripping/bleaching my hair.
The loreal casting creme gloss silky blond 801 is a Great product, my hair was shiny, silky and smelt wounderful. Most products i have tried over the years has left my hair dry and smelt very strong of chemicals when applying. Definatly recomend this product to people who are left with dry yuck hair after colouring. Very easey to apply to your hair. The colour i secleted looked bright and glossy and has lasted well after many hair washes.
This product is incredibly good if you are looking to dying your hair at home instead of going to a salon. What draws me to this product even more is that it is ammonia free which means that it was better for my hair compared to other hair dyes and it left my hair looking healthy and soft. I have very dark hair and this just left the colour of my hair looking very natural like i hadn't dyed it which is a bonus. Another bonus is the price because it is affordable and also the huge range of colours to choose from. Overall i am very happy with this product and i would definitely recommend this.
It has been about 15 years since I last dyed my hair so I was looking for a semi-permanent dye as I was a little nervous about the change.
After looking around at all options, L'Oreal Casting Creme seemed to be one of the only semi-permanents left on the market. Happily, the reviews I read were all positive and it was nice and easy to find, being in most supermarkets and big chain stores like the Warehouse.
I chose Mahogany (550) to go onto my light brown/dark blond hair to add a bit of depth and some red highlights. The instructions on the packet were nice and easy to follow and there are also lots of useful videos on the internet as well. I particularly like the nice touch with the packaging where the outer box has a pull-out tab to hold the applicator after mixing.
I found the product easy to apply to the top of my head and around my face (though it is quite a thin liquid) and enlisted the help of my partner for the back of my head (as I have quite long hair). I was initially concerned that I may have needed to buy two packets because of my past-shoulder-length hair, but happily there was plenty in the container and I felt that every part of my hair got a good coating.
After waiting the required time, it rinsed off nice and easily, making far less mess than I expected. I prepared myself for the result... It was a bit darker than I had expected, but not unpleasantly so. It looks quite even in colour, except where I had some lighter hair, which of course is now a brighter red, but it covered my greys nicely.
It's been a week since I coloured my hair and despite washing my hair four times, no colour seems to have washed out, nor has any colour been left on my pillow or clothes, so I'm happy with it's holding ability.
Overall I'm really happy with the result, have had nothing but positive comments and would definitely use this product again, though perhaps a slightly softer colour.
Tips: Think carefully about what make-up changes you may need to make if you make a dramatic change in hair colour. I found I've had to change my foundation colour and lipstick colour, plus add a lot more bronzer/blush and eye shadow to prevent looking washed out after changing from light brown to red/mahogany. Be sure to take into account the cost of any new make-up requirements when thinking about changing colour.
