- blends away greys
- gives a shimmering, rich & luscious colour result.

I like how easy it was to put on and gave an even coverage. Covered the greys perfectly and the colour end result very glossy and pretty close to what was expected or showing on the box. Give a good boost to my hair as well. The colour I found lasted longer than what was said on the fox and not much fading which is good. Even on long hair I had enough with one box. Also the stain on skin wasn't too hard to rub off.
I'm a home hair dyer from waaaaay back. I'm talking 16, yes, 90's, back when burgandy ruled the hair wavz. Flashforward to 2014. Hair suddenly thinned, was flat, in a state of long term stress. I could not continue with permanent hair dye, my hair needed a break, but I not going to settle for (shock horror) NATURAL hair colour. Enter Loreal Casting Creme Gloss 300 - Darkest Brown. I had high hopes. Box is user friendly, states no Ammonia, Semi-Permanent, Lasts up to 28 shampoos. Photo of someone with dark hair, a swath of dark brown hair along the front, small pic of yellow honey comb, to reflect the "with Royal Jelly". Pink accents, carried over into internal packaging. Words like "Glossy" "Non-drip" "full of visible shimmering tones" "Irresistable Fruity Fragrance" spring off the box. You get the picture. Inside, what you expect in a home hair kit. Clear bottle of developer liquid, tube of creme colour in bright pink, plastic gloves that fit my fat kiwi fingers, instructions in English and one foreign language with an NZ 0800 number. I found instructions hard on the eyes, foreign language was distracting, mixed in between the english. Would have prefered this was separate. A third bottle of Royal Jelly Conditioner. Standard hair dye packaging and contents. Colourant creme is a shiny gloss, mixes easily in bottle, applies easily and, voila, no drips! It doesn't smell bad, but I wouldn't eat its delicate irrestible fruity goodness. Go make a coffee, come back in 20 mins. Hop in shower. This stuff rinses out really well! I have white walls in my shower and was worried my Darkest Brown would mark, no problem however. About 2 mins in and I was done. Now for the Royal Jelly Conditioner. OH I LOVE THIS STUFF. When I die, I want to be bathed in Loreal Royal Jelly Conditioner. It smells. So. Good. It does a great job of conditioning, the bonus for me is it doesn't block my scalp pores like other conditioners do. Its like a hair mask, its so good. At the end - colour is fabulous! Rich, vibrant, intense, shiny, strong pigment with ... hold on ..., I can almost see them "shimmering tones" ... Hair does not feel dry. There is none of that bleach/ammonia/I just killed my hair feeling. Its soft. Bouncy. There is no colour left on my scalp. I am 2 months down and still the colour goes on, and I wash my hair about 3-4 times a week. I love my hair colour. Since using this product over the past year, my hair has completely restored, split ends and breakages seem a thing of the past. I have less hair fall. I'm a convert and won't go back to permanent.
Tips: Loreal actually put 4 tips on the info sheet, being 'Remove any jewellery', 'puta little moisturiser on the skin around the hairline' 'cover shoulders' 'equip yourself with a timer'. My tips - while develping the colour, wrap glad wrap around your head, it keeps the warmth in. I use vaseline on my skin/ears/fingers (incase the gloves break). (note to Loreal, please put the Royal Jelly Conditioner out as a permanent product to buy on its own).
I love this hair colour range Iv been using it for years from being blonde to light brown to a dark brown! I love that its semi permanent and the colour lasts. I like the selection of colours they have in this range also. The smell isn't strong like permanent colour so I always go for this one even though its semi permanent.
I have used this colour and it does what it says. Full grey coverage and very shiny hair. It lasts long and a youth roots after three yo four weeks. It's quick and you don't have to leave it on for long which is good gor my busy schedule.
Tips: When doing roots don't use left over colour on the other hair as it will make them dark
This hair dye is so simple so use and leaves my hair soft and glossy. I only use the black colour and find it covers my greys very easily. It is easy to wash out after application and off the skin. Will use it again.
Have used this a few times, in the richer red/violet shaded. Makes hair feel nice afterwards and gives it a nice sheen.
Tips: Use a bit of Vaseline around hair line to avoid staining and make sure to apply evenly.
If you must use box dye - this is definitely one of the best. Average pricing but great product compared to others I've tried. The colour range is great, and really true to the shade on the box. I love that it comes with a deep conditioning treatment, which usually lasts me 2 washes and smells really good. Available from most supermarkets and nicely packaged. Very easy to mix too!
Tips: But two boxes for longer hair
This hair dye totally covers grey hair but it only lasted two weeks before started to lighten up and loose its colour but it is a nice colour I use the light brown and it turns out shiny and a nice colour when applied
Tips: I would invest in buying a hair cape to save getting any dye on clothes and neck
This is my absolute favourite semi permanent dye. The smell is amazing and it leaves my hair so silky and smooth weeks after. One problem is that it should be considered a permanent dye because this stuff never comes out completely!!!
