Reviews
For the purpose of this review I selected a colour I wouldn't ordinarily use, but a colour that I liked and knew would suit me - Mahoganny (550). I must say I am very pleased with my shade selection. It is such a lovely dark reddish brown colour and very true to the colour on the box. The colour took to my hair really well(over the last of my old ), nice even colour coverage. It was easy enough to apply by myself which is a must for me. The dye smells pleasant- no stinky chemical smell. What amazed me most was I had leftover dye!!!! My hair is almost mid back length. For years I have needed two boxes of hair dye. I was so happy I didn't have to buy a second pack of dye.
Tips: For optimum coverage, have some one else apply the dye. Rinse with cold water to help lock in the colour. Wash hair once a week so colour stays vibrant longer.
This is great! Covered all the grey. I have never used a hair colour that you have to wet your hair first. But this really seemed to help the coverage. It come out with all over coverage and a deep rich colour!
Tips: Use this for all your hair dying needs! AMAZING!
I was so excited to try the L'oreal casting creme gloss hair dye. The colour shade i have chosen was Ice truffle 513 and i was very pleased with the coverage and the colour i have selected.
This was very easy to apply by myself. Wasnt a messy job to do. I just applied enough amount onto my glove to get the hair dye on evenly. The thing that suprise me was everytime i would colour my hair, theres never enough dye left to cover my whole hair but with this product it had enough amount to cover my whole hair which i was extremly happy about.
This product has a nice pleasant fruity smell which was good. No yucky chemical smell that would sting your eyes. You also get a conditioner treatment that smell incredible, leaving your hair feeling really soft and very hydrating.
Overall I would definitely recommend this product and you get your money worth with the amount of hair dye that is leftover which is great for somebody like me with long thick hair.
This smells wonderful smells very floral and just plain yummy great coverage nice colour doesn't wash out like a perm colour after a few days still smells great lasting shine all round great for a 28 washes Awesome would purchase for sure
Tips: go out and buy for yourself a great way to colour your hair and smell beautiful and not smell like a science lab
I really enjoyed this product, it doesn't have a strong smell that most hair colours have, and it's ammonia free which is a bonus. It was easy to work with and I found it went along way in my thick long hair, the colour is beautiful and my hair is so shiny and soft. I think this is my go to hair colour when I need a touch up at home .
Tips: Comb through after applied so it can go further
I trialed the licorice colour of this range, the packaging was bold and bright would stick out on the shelf for sure also the side of the box has a push out part to put the bottle in to hold it there while u put developer in,i mixed the two parts together and shook it up it mixed together very easily and smelt great was quick to apply i kept it in for recommended time of 20 minutes and that was all the time that was needed it washed out easily and the conditioner made my hair feel great im really impressed with the colour and how well it worked overall i am very happy with this product and will be using again in the future
I really liked this hair dye, it was super simple to apply and the amount you get is very generous. I have medium to long length hair and I had an ample amount after applying to my whole head. I find the colour awesome and very vibrant ( i used blackcurrant) and I have had lots of compliments since doing it. The give a huge amount of conditioner as well. The only thing I didn't like is the gloves they provide, they were really tight to get on and one ripped! I'm not sure if it's because I have big hands or??.. lol overall though, fab hair color and I'll be purchasing again! Thanks BR and L'Oréal!
It's been a long time since I've dyed my hair at home. A decade give or take? In fact it's been a long time since I've properly dyed my hair full stop. There were a few foils at a hairdressers a couple of years back, but that's it. What can I say? I wanted to see what colour my hair was after dying it for so many years. Turns out it's still poo brown. So what colour was I going to choose to dye my hair with? L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss has a huge range to choose from, so with all the shades under the sun I went for ...... brown. Praline to be exact. I liked the idea that it would elevate my hair, giving it shimmering tones in place of its current dullness... and I was never one for crazy hair colours. I know, I'm a bore.
The packaging is really cute - not just a boring rectangular box, it kind of reminded me of a tetra pack and it easily held the contents inside; the colour tube, the application bottle, the gloves and the supersized conditioner.
Dye creation was super easy and well explained on the accompanying leaflet. Pop on gloves (which were the perfect fit for my little hands, but I don't know how a normal-handed person would fit them), squeeze tube into applicator, shake, remove tip, then apply dye. Easy done! Application was probably the least messiest I've ever experienced, in that I didn't manage to flick any onto the bathroom surrounds. Win! I also didn't need to use the whole bottle, although I tried my best, but there was a lot of product in there and I have long but fine hair, so that much wasn't necessary for me, but would be perfect for thicker haired ladies. The dye initially felt a little warm on my head, and I had a brief moment of wondering if perhaps I ought to have done the patch test. It turns out I had nothing to worry about, as it didn't get any warmer - oh and the dye smell was minimal. In the old days I'd have to wait around 40 minutes for the dye to do its thing, but this required only 20. I was worried that wouldn't be enough time for the colour to develop, but it turns out I had nothing to worry about.
The dye washed out in super quick time and the conditioner made it feel lovely and silky. There's still a good two thirds of a bottle left over of the conditioner too. Usually I wouldn't bother blow drying my hair, but I was dying to see what it looked like! Needless to say, I was stoked! The colour had hints of auburn, it looked natural, and my hair looked really healthy. The only downside, is that I can't wear black clothing anymore, it just looks really wrong with my new colouring.
L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss surpassed my expectations, and I can't wait to try its many other shades of brown.
A few disappointing points but mostly highly happy with the over all product! Firstly the gloves! I have tiny hands and these gloves were highly snug and so hard to get on! I feel highly sorry for people whos hands arent blessed to be tiny like mine! Getting them off was also quite hard and I found myself getting the mixture on my fingers taking them off. Im guessing, because of the intensly quicker developing time (of only 20mins compared to the norm of 35mins) the formula was stronger and that would be why it got quite hot on my scalp and took awhile for my scalp to calm down! Washing out was a breeze, and it didnt take too long for the water to run clear. I am highly impressed with the conditioning jelly, my hair is soft and it smells soo good! Finally, I started off with bleached dark blonde and caramel hair and the colour I chose to go to was chocolate brown. The cover is full, the colour is bright and it feels like a million bucks! Smells just like the salon! Well done guys!
