L'Oreal's Clinically Proven Lash Serum promises to "Take your lashes to new lengths with the easy to use lash booster serum applicator. Simply apply to the lash line every day and watch as your lashes become stronger, longer and thicker!" But does it live up to its promise?
I've always been very skeptical when it comes to lash serums. They're horribly expensive, and do they actually work? How much of it is all in your mind? Have you imagined that your lashes are fuller, longer or thicker? Well, I took before photos before I began using this lash serum, and the results speak for themselves.
After using the serum twice per day (morning and evening) for one month, my lash 'fringe' felt thicker and I was no longer losing eyelashes during the day or when I removed my make-up at night. My lashes feel longer, but I think that's all in my mind, as when I look in the mirror they don't really look longer than they used to, but there's definitely more fullness.
L'Oreal's Clinically Proven Lash Serum is enriched with castor oil, Vitamin B5, Filoxane and Hyaluronic Acid, which help to strengthen and reinforce lashes over time. This serum also helps to repair any damage caused by heavy (waterproof) mascara use, use of lash extensions or false lashes.
One thing that I don't like about the applicator is that it has a brush tip, which was difficult to use in the beginning without accidentally sticking the bristles into my eye by accident. After I'd used it for a week or two, the bristles stuck together and became more like a liquid eyeliner applicator, which was much easier to use. Another thing was that it's hard to tell how much product is on applicator and whether or not you need to twist the base to get more product to flow to the tip. One twist of the base is sometimes not enough, while two twists is too much and eyelashes end up soaked in product, instead of it just being applied like liquid eyeliner.
Initially this serum made eyelids itchy about an hour after I'd applied the serum, but the itchiness stopped after about two weeks of using the product. I'm guessing that it was just the serum drying on my skin that caused the slight itchiness, as there was no redness, no swelling, and no allergic reaction.
I've been using the serum twice daily for two months now, and I think the proof is in the 'after' photos. I'd recommend this serum and would definitely consider purchasing more, as it does work (my lashes are definitely fuller and don't fall out as easily) and its way more affordable than dedicated lash serum brands on the market. If you've always wanted to try and eyelash serum but the price of LiLash or fLash has put you off, give L'Oreal's Clinically Proven Lash Serum a try!
Firstly, I have to say thank you to Beauty Review for the chance to trial a new product. I always feel quite lucky to trial products and write reviews on them.
I was super excited to be chosen for a lash serum trial, I mean who dosent want long, thick gorgeous lashes?
The claims on the packaging are
94% agreed lashes look fortified,
97% saw less lash loss
81% agreed fringe looks fuller.
This particular lash serum comes in a thin round tube, almost pen like. To use, you take the top off and twist the bottom and the serum comes out of the top which has a brush. I had to twist for quite sometime to produce the serum, at almost the giving up point, the clear serum appeared in the brush. The serum is quite hard to see as it comes out as it is a clear liquid and the brush is almost clear as well. I felt the dispensing method could have been quite wasteful because as you twist to get the serum out, sometimes a whole lot came out and you couldnt really use the whole lot.
The instructions say to brush onto your upper and lower lashes in the morning and evening.
I did this morning and evening for around 4 weeks, then it ran out, A bit disapointing really as other lash serums I have used has lasted a lot longer, however I only used my usual serum once a day but I still think this one did not last as long.
I waited and waited for my lashes to show some sort of improvment such as becoming thicker and not having so many fall out as I take off my eye make up. I have posted before and after photos on the photo wall and as you can see, sadly there is no notable difference. My lashes are not thicker, I am still losing lashes when I remove my eye make up.
I absolutely wanted to love this product as I adore so many products from this company, and this is the first product I have not had the desired results from.
I have used another lash serum in the past and have had awesome results so for me, I will be sticking to that one.
Tips: Twist slowly as the serum can come out quickley and you could possibly waste some.
