Calling all of you with frizzy, fly away, unruly hair... Wow. I thought I was content enough with my current hair care products until I was chosen to review L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Hyaluron Plump Serum. Boy, was I wrong. Looking at the classic cylinder shape spray bottle in it's pretty pale lavender colour and bold but edgy looking label, reading the back about exactly what this product is for. Maybe my hair IS just dehydrated? My natural hair is frizzy, wavy, long and very much just does what it wants no matter how much effort I put into trying to tame it. I was looking forward to trying this ASAP! I had never used a hair product in a wet spray before, but found it easy enough as I took care to only use it on the mid-lengths and ends as instructed and brushed it through my freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. The smell was pleasant, sort of a fruity or tropical sort of scent. I proceeded to then blow-dry as usual, re-brush and instantly noticed how much less-frizzy it looked, interesting I thought. My current expensive heat protectant cream does not have this affect. I then used my straightening iron as I always do, finishing steps not needed here.. is this for real? No calming gel. No smoothing oil. No. Nothing else needed. My hair looks incredible. A glossy matte shine and what's this, no fly aways???!!! Safe to say I was immediately sold. Even in the days after, my hair still looked amazing. I feel like I'm dreaming. A lifetime of desperate looking hair all gone in a matter of moments. I decided to use this again as soon as my hair needed washing, which is normally once a week. Unfortunately because I loved the product so much I was rather over zealous with how much I used and although my hair looked okay, it would not dry completely and felt slightly over-moisturised almost like when you use too much on your skin. Less is absolutely more here folks! L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Hyaluron is a game changer to say the least. Not only has this serum changed my life as somebody who struggles with frizzy hair daily, it's surely going to save alot of money in the future as RRP ranges from $15-20 a bottle. Bless you Beauty Review, you also have contributed to this life change as I never would have considered buying this.

Tips: Less is more! Only use on mid-lengths and ends as instructed on the bottle.
Firstly, my favourite thing about this hair serum is that it's in a spray bottle, which makes it easy to apply evenly, without getting product all over my hands. I've tried this both on dry hair and wet hair, and it works well either way.
The serum has a pleasant scent and hydrates hair without weighing it down. I found it great for a freshen up, using dry shampoo on my roots and the serum from the mid-lengths to the ends.
I've mainly used hair oils to nourish my bleached ends in the past, but this was a winner for adding moisture without any greasiness. I'll definitely be buying more when my current bottle runs out.
This L’Oreal Elvive moisture plump serum comes in an easy to use, sturdy, lovely purple spray bottle. The label has a lot of numbers and words and it took me a minute to read and understand what exactly this product’s primary purpose is.
The label says it is a Hyaluronic replumping serum which will provide 10x more hydration to your hair. As someone who has used many hair products of all price ranges and purposes, I was intrigued and excited to try this!
I used this on my hair when it was dry and also when it was semi-damp after washing and before blow drying, spraying the mid-lengths to the ends. I have long, dark hair and use heat styling products, so my ends in particular definitely need constant hydration!
The spray bottle is easy to use and the product dispenses really well. It has a nice, almost fruity like scent, it’s pretty strong though and does stay on your hair for a long time. Something to note if you don’t love strong scents in your hair products but I didn’t mind it.
After combing the serum through my hair, I found it quite tricky to run my fingers through my hair even after the product had dried off. It felt like the spray created a barrier or some friction. My hair did feel slightly softer but it wasn’t the amazing result I expected.
I’m not sure if it could be a reaction to my shampoo or conditioner, or maybe the health of my hair, but this hair serum is not quite the one for me unfortunately. Perhaps I’d need to use it for a longer period of time to see if it improves on my hair.
I would probably recommend this serum to friends with much finer and drier hair.
Tips: Spray evenly over wet or dry hair, comb through and style as usual. Test out how your hair reacts to it by testing different amounts of the serum to use. :)
This hair serum's good but nothing special and I'd only recommend it to people who don't have damaged hair. It smells nice and I think it added a bit of moisture to my hair (I have highlights), however, if your hair is quite damaged or very dry I think there are better products out there like Redken or Olaplex. I found that I had to spray quite a lot of the product in my hair to notice any difference. The bottle looks like it's made from recycled plastic which is good for the environment but won't fit the bill if you're after something a bit more luxe.
Tips: Spray a liberal amount on wet or dry hair
I used this on wet hair after washing, it has given me gorgeous volume without weighing it down. I have fine hair and this product is perfect for plumping up!
Tips: for my hair (fine) I find it better on wet hair and blow dry than on dry hair, it tends to weigh down a bit more.
I absolutely love this, my natural hair is a little bit wavy but when I brush it in the morning it just turns into frizz, so much so I can’t really wear it out without styling it. I’ve been using a few sprays on this in my dry brushed hair in the ends and it’s been amazing. It chills out the frizz and brings but my waves and is also nice and hydrating and leaves absolutely zero buildup and smells great! It has become part of my daily routine. I also put some in my towel dried hair after showers sometimes. Love it!
The L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Hyaluron Plump Serum has the same lovely smell as the shampoo and conditioner in this range but I don't believe it hydrates my hair as effectively. I've started using the serum daily which means alternating between using it on wet and dry hair.
I was expecting a serum consistency but the product is in fact a misty spray. It's not a greasy product yet on dry hair it smoothes flyaways, noticeably hydrates my dry, highlighted hair and prevents frizz making my hair smoother and easier to style in a ponytail.
Hyaluronic acid has magic hydration properties and my hair was left super soft. There's also no product build-up.
When applying the L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Hyaluron Plump Serum to wet hair however I felt like it just disappeared and questioned whether it offered any benefit.
Tips: I would certainly recommend spraying it on dry hair rather than wet.
Use in routine with the L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Hyaluron Plump Shampoo and Conditioner - I’ve been using these for several months now and will definitely repurchase them as hair is noticeably hydrated and shiny through its lengths and ends without looking weighed down.
The claims that this product makes sounds good rehydrate hair and no build up, however im not sure if I can see much or any difference in my hair. It does feel thicker when I use it but not in the best way more in a way that makes me feel like it's dirty like you have too much product in your hair especially when using on dry hair and this product claimed it has no build up. When I've used it on wet hair again not quite sure what it's doing doesn't feel or look bad I just don't see where this product would fit in my specific hair routine especially because I have used this product regularly over past couple weeks and my hair is still pretty dry. I definitely do have the hair type that this product is for, very dry bleached damaged hair but this one is not my favorite. I have to give it to Loreal though the smell is devine they know how to sell a good scent in their products. I like that it's in a spray bottle love the colour the sprayer could be a little better for more of an even distribution of product. I just don't know if it does enough to make me want to repurchase it I will finish the bottle to see if eventually it does help with hydration but as for now I just dont see it on my hair.
Tips: Works nicer on wet hair than dry
I really really wanted to like this. I used it a couple of ways and it was the same result.
I freshly washed my hair and used no other products and popped this in damp and blow dried it like I normally do. It left my hair quite stringy and as if the product hadn't asorbed properly. No matter into a bun it went!
I then used it on dry hair to smooth some frizz and I mean a very very small amount. It left my hair looking rather greasy despite it being a day two of a wash day.
It's likely my very fine hair isn't suited to this and perhaps someone with thicker locks may enjoy this. I will say it smells lovely and has a subtle fragrance which I feel didn't overlap with anything else I wore.
I really wanted to like this spray, my hair is extremely brittle at the moment and I had hoped that this would give me some extra protection when styling, and while it does feel more hydrated as the product intends, it feels like it leaves a film on my hair. It definitely makes the hair feel thicker, again as promised in the description however it’s recommended for every day use which I was not able to do as it just made my hair feel like it had build up (which ironically the product promises not to do). I did like that I could spray it on my hair and restyle 10 minutes later, it did not make my hair frizzy or unmanageable which some sprays do but it does not feel like a typical serum. The smell is very pleasant without being overpowering and the bottle is easy to use, I also liked that the bottle is 100% recycled, and recyclable. I did not find the spray nozzle blocked at all which you can find with some nozzles and the 150ml size does feel generous for the price. Overall I will likely continue to use the spray till it is gone, but unless I notice a drastic improvement in the hydration of my hair I probably won’t repurchase.
Tips: I would not use on freshly washed hair, as if you’re anything like me, it will immediately feel like it needs to be washed again.
