I was really excited to try this foundation because I have the infallible matte one already and I love it, it’s one of my favourite foundations so I was very excited to see how the new formula compared to the old one, and I genuinely think it’s better, it feels super light on the skin, and this shade is prefect for me. I love the finish it has and it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a full face of foundation like it genuinely feels so lightweight and it looks rather natural, but it’s very full coverage. Like I have freckles and I hate them showing through my make up and this covered them you could only very slightly see them through the make up which is a big thing for me being so insecure about them. I honestly would highly recommend this foundation and a little bit goes along way which is always amazing when it comes to foundation.

Woah if you're wanting matte foundation go with this one for sure. The only downside is that after a while I can see dry patches around my nose and underneath nostrils. I have to use moisturizer on top which then mixes with the foundation but eventually dries down again. Apart from that it's good.
I have tried this foundation over a few days now, and put it to the test with some long days travelling for work in this humidity! Overall, I think this foundation is really nice - it has a beautiful matte finish that is quite natural looking, blends beautifully and doesn't look cakey. I found it to be a medium-to-full coverage foundation, that builds well and I barely needed any concealer to cover a couple of spots as I was able to build this foundation enough in any trouble areas! I found that it layered with other products, including my undereye concealer and setting powder well.
In terms of its 24 hour claim, I didn't find that this was the case for me! After about 8-9 hours of wear, I found that this foundation broke down on my more oilier areas (I have oily-combo skin) around my nose and chin, and needed retouching. Of course 24 hours is probably a bit optimistic, however I do have long-wear foundations from other brands that make similar claims and don't break down in these areas quite so quickly. For a more mid-range product, though, I thought this performed pretty well, and I will continue using it and purchase it again based on the blend-ability and natural-looking coverage.
Tips: I found that a damp beauty blender applied this beautifully! Just remember to squeeze all the water out before applying the foundation.
Ok! This foundation I put through the ringer. It does what it says. I went to the pools for a spa to see how it would last with steam and heat - it was good! It definitely lasts all day which is nice, no noticeable patches. I did find it a little thicker than I like which is common with long lasting foundations, I’ve found. Overall it does last and the texture is creamy. I would use it again but only when I need something that’s going to stay put for an event etc.
Tips: Definitely blend fast. Sets quite fast. Use a finishing powder
When I first received the product I was pleased with the packaging. It is a sleek and simple tube, with a thin nozzle. The colour was nice, not too warm or cool, and the smell was pleasant, very subtle.
I began to apply the foundation with a wet beauty blender and found it was a bit patchy and sat clearly on top of my skin, not at all blending in. I swapped to a brush for the other side of my face and it applied better, but still did not seem to want to blend with my skin as well as my normal foundation would.
The finish was very matte but was not dull. I found it to last well during the day but if I touched my face or rested it anywhere, there was transfer and the foundation did appear patchy on my face.
I will continue to try it with different primers and skincare underneath as I liked the finish.
Tips: A few good spritz's of setting spray made the finish of the foundation look more natural.
I was really disappointed in this product, the shade itself was slightly too light- which is not the products fault. However I found it didn’t blend well into my skin and sat on top making it very uneven and flakey. I tried a few different ways to apply the product and found using my fingers was the best way- but still not great. It’s quite thick and a small amount goes a long way. I found if I applied it to my oily/ sweaty mid arvo skin it worked better and kept my skin matte. I ended up having to mix it with some bb cream to make it more blendable- which worked well. The product size does seem small so I can imagine it wouldn’t last long.
This really isn't my cup of tea and it didn't meet my expectations either which I am very disappointed about. I was hoping that this foundation was full coverage and enough to cover my imperfections on my face. This foundation claims to last up to 24 hours hiding imperfections for a smooth clear complexion. Sadly this was not the case for me. It hardly covered my red birthmark under my eye, the foundation also felt heavy and cakey all day. It also didn't last more than 6--8 hours before starting to come off in places. I tested this out in hot, warm and cooler weather. In the warmer weather it sweated off basically and in the cooler weather it wasn't too much better either. I found the formula pretty drying and uncomfortable once applied which disappointed me. I have tried to apply this with a brush and beauty blender to see if that made a difference - which sadly it did not. I also cant stand the smell of the foundation- It smells very chemically / worse than a strong sunblock sort of smell.
This foundation retails for $39.99 which for what it is, I believe is not worth it to me, and each tube has 30ml of foundation in it. One thing I like about this foundation is the tube it comes in and how you can control how much product that comes out.
I have a dry/combination skin type and this foundation was sadly not quite right for me. I found that straight after application, my skin got extremely dry and was flaking at my nose, my forehead and looking quite caky as well. I had applied moisturiser and primer before and had lightly set it with powder. I tried again with no primer, moisturiser and powder but got the same results. I wanted to give it a fair try so I tried it with just primer as well. This definitely worked the best of the three applications. I wouldn’t use again just because it doesn’t work with my skin type but for someone with normal or oily skin it would work a lot better.
Tips: Use sparingly, you don’t need a lot of product. Use little to no powder. For longer lasting and better application use with a primer.
I don't want to write this foundation off because it could be a primer issue, or skin issue but I didn't have much luck with this foundation. Before I had even set it, it had split on my nose and under my eyes, after finishing my make up it started wearing off in my forehead wrinkles, and it was really obvious. The coverage was great, I definitely can't flaw it on that. It was easy to colour match, I was concerned I hadn't picked right but it was spot on. It was easy to apply, and blend. Maybe it wasn't the right product for my skin, I'm going to try with a new primer and see if that makes a difference.
I struggle to find foundations I like and that actually match me. I don't seem to fit most of the undertones, so I was reasonably surprised that the shade I chose wasn't a total disaster! It may have been slightly off tone-wise, but the colour was a fairly good match. I rate L'Oreal foundations anyway, so this is pretty consistent for them with how well they seem to match - a real bonus if you ever want to buy online without being able to swatch colours.
Although the packaging is simple, I loved how easy it was to apply; you could put it on a brush, sponge or straight on your face no worries! As you can squeeze it out, I feel that you can control the flow easier and I believe you would also be able to get most of the product out, meaning less waste and more bang for your buck; because who doesn't hate foundations you can only use half of, or pumps that break and bottles that won't pour the last bits out. It also smells rather pleasant, I can't put my finger on what the scent would compare too, but it's not bad at all and appeals to me as I don't like strong smelling cosmetics, in particular those that reek of chemicals.
As for how it performed, it went on easy, blended well and provided the full coverage without feeling cakey (as promised). I really don't like foundation that's heavy on the face in feel and look, so I was very happy with the coverage and feel.
Now, I really tested this foundation out, I went clubbing with it on. I figured something that says 24 hours on it would surely be my best choice for the night? I think it may have fared better if I used a little more, but it did pretty well considering how much I was sweating, moving around and blotting my face throughout the night (I dance hard). It did slip off my nose quite badly, but that's not entirely unexpected as I find this with a lot of cosmetics that go on that area. Overall, it held up well despite me putting it through the absolute wars during wear. In future, I would probably be sure to pop some extra makeup in my bag to top up those more oily areas during a night out.
Overall, I think this is a great little foundation, it's simple, I imagine affordable (considering L'Oreal's typical price point), very user friendly and it does the job. I don't think it's up there with the best foundations I've used, but I will definitely keep using this one, as it's still a solid product.
