I was lucky to be able to review this as part of the trial team, and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised!
First impressions were that I really like the packaging, nice and easy design, to take only as much product as you need—prior to this trial I have been using the OG infallible one and the lid and nozzle gets clogged with product, so I like the design of this one :)
When applying this, I found I had to work quite quickly as it would dry fast, therefore it can cake but working it over with my damp beauty blender helped a lot.
Coverage is fantastic, my freckles, sunspots and redness disappeared and it lasted a full day [including those heated summer days—bonus!], I've found with previous foundations that they fade and show redness before lunchtime, so this was a great result!
Translucent/finishing powder, bronzer, highlighter and setting spray worked nicely over the top of this foundation without causing anything to cake or transfer.
Overall, I'm quite impressed by this foundation, it did 90% of what it claimed [beside a small amount of caking which is easy to sort out] but overall a surprisingly light and not-so-drying foundation that I could wear all day without it fading like crazy—I would definitely buy again!
I am a big fan of L’Oréal’s infallible foundation range, with the matte finish probably being my favourite.
The foundation comes in a tube and most of the time only squeezes the amount of product you want (at the end of the tube it becomes a little more unpredictable).
The foundation is full coverage, lasts well, doesn’t pill or oxidise and has a nice feel, smell and consistency.
I would wear this foundation all day, but it would need redoing if I was going out for the evening.
The matte finish on this one is pretty neutral. The first mattifying foundation they did I feel provided a more matte effect, but this one still gives a matte finish in comparison to non-matte foundations.
I also like that when I was looking for my shade they had foundations that worked with both more yellow and red skin tones.
