Woah if you're wanting matte foundation go with this one for sure. The only downside is that after a while I can see dry patches around my nose and underneath nostrils. I have to use moisturizer on top which then mixes with the foundation but eventually dries down again. Apart from that it's good.

I spend a lot of time trying to find the perfect foundation for my skin as my biggest problems is that my makeup never stays on my face (always ends up rubbing off) and that my foundation looks cakey in problem areas around my face! So for this foundation, I was excited to give it a try as it claims to last up to 24 hours on the skin and is L'oreal which means the price point of this product won't be crazy expensive. Basically, this product is good but definitely not my favourite. As expected, this foundation wouldn't last on my skin for anywhere near 24 hours as again I mentioned that makeup rubs off my face very easily (was very sheer coverage after about 5). Once applying it on the skin with a blending sponge as I usually do, I found that this foundation wasn't as full coverage as expected and that I had to build up the coverage. I didn't have any major issues with it looking cakey except for around my nose clung to the product in the crevices whilst the tip didn't let foundation stick to it as well. I will definitely continue to use this foundation although I find that there a better alternatives to this foundation that suit my skin type better.
Tips: Use a good setting powder - mine basically minimises cakiness in all my foundations so I think it really helped.
I am an absolute foundation hoarder, so I was really happy to be choosen to try this foundation out! I wear makeup every day, all day (for work), so this was a great test to see how long this would last on my skin.
The formula of this foundation is beautiful, a little went a long way with this and I found that even though I was using a smaller amount, the coverage was still great! I applied it first with a brush and then pat it down with a sponge, and then a couple of other days I applied with just the sponge and preferred the look of that better. I found this foundation super easy to blend and I choose the absolute perfect colour too which was great. I found that the coverage was really great but that it did highlight my larger pores, but didn't sink in to my under eye fine lines.
I don't think I would call this foundation 'matte' though, I thought it went on more like a demi matte, so I still set it with setting powder which then made it matte. The foundation stayed on each day really well, some days I wore it for up to 14 hours and the foundation hadn't seperated or moved at all, which is massive for me because I usually find my foundations seperate around my nose and chin by the end of the day. I found that my t-zone was oily at the end of the day, but again this is nothing new for me, it just meant it wasn't '24 hr matte' for me.
Overall, I really loved this foundation and I can see myself continuing to buy it. It's a great summer foundation since it lasts all day through the heat, but also since it wasn't matte/or drying on my skin this is probably one that I can wear through winter without it looking dry and caking! This gets two thumbs up from me.
Tips: If you are combo/oily skin make sure to still set this with a setting powder :)
I found this to be a perfect everyday foundation and really good for oily skin. The texture is thick and mousse like, but once it is on the face it blends in really nicely. This foundation I would say is medium coverage not full coverage. Despite this, the foundation is buildable. I found that despite it clinging to any dry patches, it does do what is says it would and cancels out redness. And my face remained somewhat matte at the end of the day. So a win in my eyes! Would recommend.
Tips: I also found that it does slightly oxidise, so wearing or getting a shade lighter may be better.
I was lucky to be able to review this as part of the trial team, and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised!
First impressions were that I really like the packaging, nice and easy design, to take only as much product as you need—prior to this trial I have been using the OG infallible one and the lid and nozzle gets clogged with product, so I like the design of this one :)
When applying this, I found I had to work quite quickly as it would dry fast, therefore it can cake but working it over with my damp beauty blender helped a lot.
Coverage is fantastic, my freckles, sunspots and redness disappeared and it lasted a full day [including those heated summer days—bonus!], I've found with previous foundations that they fade and show redness before lunchtime, so this was a great result!
Translucent/finishing powder, bronzer, highlighter and setting spray worked nicely over the top of this foundation without causing anything to cake or transfer.
Overall, I'm quite impressed by this foundation, it did 90% of what it claimed [beside a small amount of caking which is easy to sort out] but overall a surprisingly light and not-so-drying foundation that I could wear all day without it fading like crazy—I would definitely buy again!
Tips: Ensure your beauty blender is quite damp, or move quickly as this can dry pretty quickly :)
I tend to only wear matte full coverage foundations on a regular basis, so I feel like I'm a good judge of good matte foundations. My skin is notorious for going oily with even the best foundations, so it takes a good foundation to keep the oil at bay. The foundation comes in a simple matte black squeezy tube. There is a thin nozzle for dispensing the product, so it's easy to get the amount you need with no wastage. I had the shade Rose Porcelain. This was a good colour match as a very pale girl. It was a very neutral colour and took away the pink tones of my skin and neutralized them. The foundation is quite thin in texture but very full coverage so a small amount goes a long way. I first put this to test on a 27 degree day with a very large pimple to hide, and have used it several times since, so I think I tried this out under the most extreme conditions to see how this would fare, and it fared well! The foundation dries down quick, so you need to blend quickly. I used this with a blurring primer, which I think made this harder to blend, this would definitely work better with a more hydrating primer. I was impressed that this was immediately very full coverage, yet still looked like natural skin and it didn't look like I had a full on face of foundation on. The foundation felt and looked weightless, and covered my megazit with ease, that I didn't even need concealer on top of the foundation. The look was definitely lovely and matte without looking drying. I did find this caked a bit on my cheeks where I apply highlight and blush, so this might not work well with other products at times, but it was easy enough to blend and fix. The foundation lasted perfectly throughout the 27 degree day and other warm days, with not a hint of oil or shine. It really is infallible! It is however quite drying as you'd expect with a matte product, and after I've removed this I do need to intensely moisturise my face. I can see this being too drying for those with dry skin who want a foundation as I imagine it'd be very difficult to blend, and it'd dry the skin out. My skin is more oily combination (but mostly just oily in summer) and I still found it a bit drying. This delivered on everything it said it would apart from not being cakey, although the cakiness I experienced at times on my cheeks may have been issues with the products used with the foundation or me not blending it quick enough. I usually love L'Oreal foundations and this is my new favourite. It's full coverage, doesn't look heavy, looks natural, is super matte, and very long wearing, it stays looking the same as when applied all day. My only negatives with the product were minor cheek cakiness, that it's quite dry so you have to be quick to blend, and it can be drying on the skin (but these are all things that can be worked around). I'd happily use this again and would recommend to anyone else with oily skin wanting a foolproof foundation.
Tips: Use a hydrating primer or moisturiser before application and blend quickly as the foundation dries fast.
Thanks to Beauty Review for sending this to me to test!
First impressions: Looks like a standard L'oreal foundation tube with a soft-touch finish, colour on the outside appears to be the colour of the product showing through, not fragranced (although not an unpleasant scent to the product).
Wears pretty well, with buildable coverage up to full. I used it also as a spot correction and blended out on lighter-wear days. Blends out well with both a brush and a damp sponge.
Definitely didn't wear for 24 hours, more like a patchy 6-8 with powder and setting spray. Broke down slightly with the oils from my skin, despite varying primers used over the test (Bobbi Brown, Becca, Maybelline and Benefit- also without primer), and despite powder, but still held up fairly well, and didn't look too patchy (probably also not helped by the fact that I touch my face without thinking ALL the time).
This is a great foundation for the L'oreal foundation price point, and it behaves comparably on my skin to more expensive foundations that I've tried, so I'll definitely finish it out, and maybe even re-purchase it when I'm done!!
Tips: Primer is great for a full coverage foundation to give a god base, and protect from some of the oils from your skin for longer wear.
No SPF declared in this one, so don't skip your sunscreen!!
I had the absolute pleasure of trialling this foundation. I had selected the colour 115 ‘Golden Beige’. I thought this colour would be a good match but was surprised to find it a couple of shades lighter than I expected (I am NW15 MAC). The product size is the standard 30ml and comes in an easy to apply squeeze bottle. The perfect size and weight for your makeup bag! I applied with and without a primer and found it applied beautifully either way, with a primer it did apply smoother and my pores were less visible. It blended super easily with both a beauty blender and foundation brush and a little product goes a long way making this a long lasting foundation. Dries to a silky matte finish. It sat very well on my fine lines around my eyes and mouth and as the day wore on it did come off around my chin and mouth areas but didn’t seem to settle in my fine lines. It didn’t cling to my dry patches and healing zits too so big plusses there! I would not say it lives up to its 24 hour name though as at the 6 hour mark I was ready for a touch up (in saying that I wore this on some of the hottest days of the year) I did set with powder and a setting spray on a couple of days to test the staying power this way and it definitely helps. It didn’t even look caked on with a setting powder! Overall this has to be one of the best matte foundations I have worn in terms of the smooth natural finish. Great for special occasions and times where you aren’t going to get super hot and sweaty. Sorry for the novel!!! Lol!
Tips: Use a good primer and settings spray to get the best finish and longevity.
A little bit goes a long long way with this product boy oh boy! Less is definitley more! The colour chart for selecting the shade itself was misleading I think in person having testers at the stand will be a huge advantage for first time buyers wanting to try this product
I think the product was a bit too light for me which is ironic as this girl is WHITTE. However nothing that some bronzer couldn't fix. The foundations consistency is quite thick and doesnt have any unpleasent fragrances.
It definitley provided a matte finish as promised for those wanting no shine this foundation delivers. I wish the product was in a bottle with a pump- this ensures better value for money and of course hygeine. The product had a more yelloe tone vs the pinky look of the colour swatches.
The foundation lasted all day however if you suffer from a drier skin I would definitley recommend using a primer. I found the product caked up on my nose throughout the day.
Definitley a foundation for people who like the feel of wearing full coverage- really good product for baking and building up a smooth canvas.
Definitley use a make up sponge to apply vs a brush!
Tips: Make sure you match your shade correctly. Go into store to view potential shades for your skin.
I was really excited to try this foundation because I have the infallible matte one already and I love it, it’s one of my favourite foundations so I was very excited to see how the new formula compared to the old one, and I genuinely think it’s better, it feels super light on the skin, and this shade is prefect for me. I love the finish it has and it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a full face of foundation like it genuinely feels so lightweight and it looks rather natural, but it’s very full coverage. Like I have freckles and I hate them showing through my make up and this covered them you could only very slightly see them through the make up which is a big thing for me being so insecure about them. I honestly would highly recommend this foundation and a little bit goes along way which is always amazing when it comes to foundation.
