I got this on special at makeup.co.nz & was happy when it arrived. I have the shade rose beige & will have to go up a shade during summer or load on the bronzer & contour to keep with my summer tan I develop. A tube that's partially see thru but has its brands logo & writing on the remainder of the tip which is red & black. The lid is black of which the tube sits flat on. The lid is a screw top & the dip ender is a tiny nozzle that's quite thin, not typical of any foundation I've ever come across. Contents: A thin liquid that requires shaking prior to use to ensure the oil substance is mixed otherwise it comes out quite oily. Other then that the fluid is thin. Effects this liquid is light to touch & means it's also light weight it claims to have a matte finish with full coverage. The coverage is a medium to full being that it's buildable for full coverage. It doesn't feel velvety at all but the appearance it gives is a matte finish. I found it leaves a nice finish and is easy to blend either with a blending sponge or a stipple brush. When applying concealer onto the face, the concealer doesn't move the foundation at all. So that's a plus for this foundation. Whilst layer on bronzer, contour, highlighter & blush these all blend in seamlessly without interrupting the foundation another advantage. For the stay power it seems to hold up to the humidity of spring & sat quite well I actually spent half a day in the direct sunlight and only a slight glisten of my face from the sun exposure & around my nose area needed a bit of touch up with my setting powder also where my sunglasses had been sitting on my cheeks just needed a slight touch up. Then I went on to cool tea for our kids club which involved some very hot humid temperatures of both the ovens& the industrial dishwasher. I went home after 8pm & still had a good coverage with now a dewy appearance. So this foundation has some good stay power with both the matte finish & the 24hours claims I can't guarantee 24hours due to not wearing it for that long but I'll give it a A+ for the performance it did for my fotd. What I'd like is a pump bottle or nozzle at the end of the tube for dispensing it would make ime product that much better.
I think this is similar to EL Double Wear!
I like it and it works quite well. I do have dry skin and without a primer, this can stick to my dry patches. I use a silicone primer beforehand and I find this works great for me. It lasts all day and doesn't melt off. I prefer a matte finish and I'm only a tiny bit greasy around my nose after a super long day at work.
One problem, why doesn't Farmers stock the lightest shade?! I haven't found it in NZ so I got it sent from the UK. I don't understand why they would chose to not stock it because I think there's a lot of fair ladies out there looking for a good foundation and '10 Porcelain' isn't even that light.
I do really like this product but if you're very fair like me, don't think the lightest shade at Farmers will be ok. It isn't actually the lightest shade in the range.
YES!!! Finally found something that gives amazing coverage, that lasts well throughout the day. I use to swear by Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, but now I prefer to use L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte. I apply it several ways, I use a flat top kabuki brush for a more full coverage look or I use my beauty blender for a more medium coverage. I do find I have to moisturise well before applying as it can cling to dry patches. I use a combo of primers underneath the foundation, Bareminerals neutralizing to combat the reddness on my cheeks and Too Faced Primed & Poreless and I find the foundation goes on top of these primers nice & smoothly. And when I don't want a so matte looking finish I add my Smashbox Studio Skin Hydrating 15 hour wear Foundation to the L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte for a more Demi-Matte/ Satin finish which I love.
Tips: Moisturise well!!
I love this foundation so much! It is everything a person with oily/combination skin would want in a drugstore foundation. It comes in a plastic bottle that is great for travelling with. It has a fine-tipped nozzle that makes it easy to control how much product you squeeze out.
The coverage of this foundation is medium according to the packaging, but it is not far off being full. However it doesn't feel cakey at all. In fact it feels quite lightweight when I apply it with a beautyblender. Usually it takes only an hour before my nose starts to get a bit oily, but with this foundation it takes nearly the whole day before I start to look even a little bit oily. It lasts very well when I wear it, and it doesn't fade or appear patchy. I still set this foundation with a powder though.
My only problem with this foundation is that the lightest shade they stock in New Zealand is too dark for my very pale skin. I currently have the shade Vanilla, but I know that they sell an even lighter shade in other countries. If they stocked the shade Porcelain here, I would be over the moon with joy! At the moment I can only use this foundation if I have fake tanned or if I mix it with a lighter colour.
I really hope that with winter coming up that L'Oreal will consider stocking this foundation in the lighter shade. If they did I would update this review to 5/5 because that is the only thing preventing me from leaving a perfect review.
I love this foundation. I have extremely oily skin, to the point that throughout the day I have to constantly blot my face & re apply my powder. This stays on, stays matte, controls shine & makes my skin look amazing & doesn't run off throughout the day. The coli=our suits me really well. Nothing bad to say about this foundation. I LOVE IT!!!!
This foundation is my favourite discovery of 2016 so far. My skin is very oily, and when I'm on the go all day I don't want to be having to touch up every couple of hours. I apply this foundation first think in the morning (7am), with a bit of powder on top, and it lasts me the whole day until I remove it around 8-9pm with absolutely no touch ups, and maintaining a completely matte finish! This foundation is medium-full coverage, which I adore for a full face of makeup, because it isn't too heavy but is very buildable, and it is super easy to blend and apply to your face, leaving a nice finish with no cakeyness.
Tips: I have tried it with a beauty blender, a paddle brush, a flat-top stippling brush and my fingers and I've found it to apply best with only using your fingers!
This really works! I have combination and sensitive skin and it goes on so nicely and lasts all day at work. I find my skin does have to be well moisturised and I think it goes on best with a damp sponge like a beauty blender, otherwise it's a bit too thick. It's easier to sheer out slightly with a sponge. It just stays on so well for me. I hope it doesn't get discontinued! This has happened to me a few times....
Tips: Use a slightly "wet" or "tacky" feeling moisturiser first rather than one with a fryish or matte finish, it provides a good surface.
I used to have oily skin a few years ago, but lately it’s been on the dryer side(aging), especially in the winter, so I’m not really the perfect group for this foundation. However I still bought 2 tubes of this foundation simply because I’ve found my perfect shade match! Already used a whole tube and can’t wait to use my unopened one again in the warmer months. It settles into my wrinkles and accentuates dry patches in the winter(but there are tricks I use against this, just no time for this routine in the mornings), so been using different foundations for the meantime. It is a very thick cream, mousse-like paste rather and it’s very easy to overapply, I only need a tiny bit to spread across my whole face and neck. If it is a bit too matte or drying I apply it with a damp beauty sponge or mix a drop of face oil into my moisturiser and it’s all fixed. Oil really helps this foundation to slide across the face beautifully, however I understand it’s counterproductive for people with oily skin. It is indeed full coverage but I only use a tiny amount, so I take it down to a medium coverage and it looks more natural for my liking.
I worked in promotions and got giving a range of different shades of this foundation. I found this is a really good foundation. It has a matte finish and doesnt mattify during the day. I did find that there were a few dry patches so have to make sure to wear primer with this one. Also good to use darker shades for eyeshadow and contour. Overall good foundation and would buy again!
