Bitterly disappointed

I bought this as I'd heard so many great things about it - woohoo!! 24 hour foundation?! How could I not?! I spent a lot of time in the shop finding the right colour. I finally picked it and went home to try it on. Except, the colour changed after I put it on. It went very, very orange. Yet, in the store, it was a perfect colour. It was also really uncomfortable to wear, it felt heavy. And I ended up throwing away the bottle after a week or so.

Hit and Miss

This foundation seems to either be loved or hated by everyone that tries it. Sadly for me I hated it. First off, for a drug store foundation I thought it was super pricey. Add a few dollars on and I could've purchased something high end. The packaging was a bit cheap, but I never have liked foundations in squeezy tubes. I purchased this foundation because of all the positive hype about it, which was a big mistake.

The consistency was very thick, almost moussey, but the finish was quite nice. However for something that claimed to be a '24 hour foundation' it barely lasted 4 hours on my skin, even with and primer and when set with a powder.

The thing I hated the most about this foundation though was the colour. I got Vanilla/11 which is the lightest shade available in NZ. Straight from application it was so so pink toned. I am yellow toned, but this was so pink I'm not sure it would even look normal on a pink-toned person. After a few hours of wear it oxidised from the pink to a very patchy orange, and I actually stopped what I was doing to come home and take it off.

I just think that when charging almost $40 for a drug store foundation, there should at least be a more wearable shade range. And I know all brands dramatise the length of wearability, but putting the 24 hour claim on a foundation that didn't even manage to last 1/4 of the time is just awful.

They really missed the mark with this one...

First of all the shade selection is very limited and the undertones are just, I dunno, too strong(?), the pink undertones and VERY pink and the yellow undertones are so yellow they're almost orange. I went with a yellow undertoned as I usually do but unless Im fake tanned I find myself mixing it with another foundation just so I dont look like I just walked out of Willy Wonka's Choc Factory.

The consistency is quite thick and I didn't find it very easy to blend - I had to use about twice as much as I would normally just to get even coverage all over.

The matte finish is nice(not super matte but nice) and it is long lasting (definitely not 24hr though, more like 5-8) but given some places are charging $45 for it - I'd rather spend the extra $30 and get something high end that will last me twice as long.

Tips: Definitely recommend a primer to help blend out the foundation if you're game enough to try it.

Golden Beige

I picked up a tube of Infallible 24H Matte Cover Foundation in the Rewards Vault, in the colour Golden Beige. The tube says, "Shake well before use", but I find it really difficult to shake, as the formula is a thick liquid, sort of a combination between a liquid and a mousse.

The 30ml tube with a thin nozzle is easy to squeeze and the foundation doesn't rush out, which it nice, as it allows me to get the perfect amount each time. At first, I applied this with a foundation brush (over primer), but found that it looked very cakey. The next day I applied it with my fingers and it looked a little better. Over the next few days, I tried various primers under this foundation, yet it still looked patchy and cakey. The mattifying effect only lasted about four hours before my face started to get oily and very shiny, and the foundation started to 'slip', gather in creases under my eyes, and transfers horribly if I accidentally touch my face.

I can't see any SPF listed anywhere, and I do like my foundation to contain SPF. I definitely wouldn't call this foundation infallible, and I definitely didn't get 24 hours of matte coverage, only three to four hours. Sadly, this foundation is a no from me. I will not be recommending it or repurchasing it. I do have the L'Oreal Infallible 24H Fresher Liquid Foundation, which I will be comparing this to.

Tips: If you have oily skin, try the L'Oreal Infalliable 24H Freshwear Liquid Foundation instead (I found it to be better than the matte cover one).
