Not to bad

Use this in the front of my head when my grey hair starts to show. It does what it says it will do and that’s cover my greys . The down side is when you spray it on your hair it also sprays on your skin, then you I have to rub it off with baby wipes or a wet cloth. Can be annoying at times because I only want to spray my hair not my skin too.

Loreal retouch

I found the colour a good match, dark brown, easy to use, lasts till next wash so that was great, blended really well with natural colour, what I didn't like is it made my hair go frizzy on top where I sprayed so had to use more oil product to stop if frizz.

Tips: Worth a try

~~Quick, Easy & a Re-growth Winner~~

As I am getting older one of the annoying things for me is my scalp isn't really happy with regular permanent hair dying and seems much more difficult, it easily irritated and drys so easily.

For me with a short style I can easily hide the regrowth and this is where a re-touch product becomes my best friend.

This spray one comes in a aqua spray can, says up to 25 applications and comes in around 9 shades (thats from The Warehouse site) it is easy to choose a shade. Keep in mind IMO these products are used a a quick fix, something to tide over till next colouring. I would imagine for some 9 shades isn't enough but I am also lucky to have dark brown hair so a exact match isn't that necessary.

I found using it after styling was best for me, I only used a little for the front and the back. Not a difficult thing to do but I found it to be not as precise as say using a hair regrowth mascara wand (which Loreal also do).

I did find it a little drying but that not unexpected (pretty much everything is drying for me). The winning point is at the moment trying not to dye my hair, it can be rough for my scalp and this product really give me the security that regrowth isn't going to be as visible.

Choosing between the spray or mascara like wand, the wand is my first. This is because I have such a little area to cover and found this spray would be more ideal for a over all application ie: part down middle of head vs just a little area for me. The mascara wand offers quicker and more precise application. I wouldn't want to use the spray anywhere near my eyes, needing to hold it 10cm away from head makes it fan out. I didn't apply it without a towel over my shoulders, not quite ready to test on any clothes (it did recommend not to spray near any delicate fabric or surfaces).

All in all the price, innovation and ease to use get top marks for me. Its a easy product to use. Without a doubt one of those products that need to be in the cupboard.

I feel & understand that it's a quick cover up product and not to expect too much from it, with that in mind it won't be too disappointing.

Good short term solution

This has given me another day when I'm overdue in dealing with my 'racing stripe' but I have found the spray is hard to control. Have learnt to apply when I have no top on after ruining a white shirt 1st time around. Needs to be a way to improve the nozzle - the longer stick version is not great

Tips: Don't wear light clothing if applying a dark colour

Magic Retouch to Soften the Natural Highlights

L'Oreal Paris Magic Retouch is a wonderful little pocket product that takes away the stress when you look in the mirror and find your natural highlights (grey) or roots (eeek darker than blond) have reappeared overnight,

It comes in a small, compact size aerosol spray with a nozzle that allows you to be very precise in applying it to the hair part or roots that need that extra attention. One application and voila those roots were back in line with the rest of my hair. It covered the darker roots with ease and was very easy to apply resulting in a blended coverage result.

I found that it worked well but made my hair feel a little bit crunchy - which is to be expected when you are putting a paint on product on your hair. There wasn't any colour transfer to my towels when washed or my bedsheets/pillow when sleeping.

I found this a good product, that does what it states it will (cover greys) and it was easy to use. The compactness makes it an easy add to the handbag or travel bag to ensure that when the moment comes that all of a sudden there are greys popping up there is a solution to get through until the next hair appointment or something more permanent can be done.

Tips: Spray gently and precisely so the product doesn't go all over your bathroom. Use close to a hair wash day as it feels a little crunchy on the hair/scalp. Ideal for in between salon visits to make you feel like your hair is not two toned - colour vs grey/dark roots.

Very good root cover!

I was pretty excited to be chosen for this review team! My hair is transitioning from darker to blonde due to gray/white hairs and I'm forever battling the regrowth grays in between colours!

I have used retouch spray before, however they didn't have this light blonde and I used a dark blonde but it was too dark for my hair. So the bottle was what I expected, a good size which you can pop in your purse for emergencies :) it has a little spray nozzle which is good as it stops it from being too big a spray, especially when you have a smaller area to cover.

I like the colour of the bottle and it shows the colour on the front clearly so you know what you are looking at. I only wash my hair about once a week so I washed my hair and that showed just how gray my roots were haha! I dried and styled as normal then tried applying the root spray. It was easy to apply, I found applying in smooth strokes was the best for coverage etc but in shorter bursts.

The retouch seemed to cover the grays well, it blended in well with my hair colour too which was pleasing. The only thing I found which I didn't really like was that the colour was quite yellowy or brassy, but it seemed to get worse if you applied more spray over the stuff you already had on (layering too much?).

I haven't washed it out of my hair as yet but will be doing that in the next day or 2, I'm sure it will wash out ok though.

I'm very happy that it is free of ammonia, peroxide & synthetic dyes. One thing I do not like about L'Oreal however is that they are not Cruelty Free I have just seen online :( I love L'Oreal products but didn't realise this fact about the company, so could make a difference to me as to whether I purchase again or not.

All in all though this is a good product that does a good job of covering grays!

Tips: Don't use too much as it can go yellowy!

Love hate relationship

My hair is a dyed dark cool brown colour that has grey regrowth within a week of leaving the hair salon and the instant root concealer spray magically matches my hair colour perfectly ... and it really works! I sprayed it on and my grey regrowth vanished before my eyes and it did not reappear until I washed my hair ... so great! It dried quite quickly and did not transfer onto my clothes whilst dressing and undressing and did not transfer onto my hand if I ran my fingers through my hair. It comes in a small sized bottle for ease of holding and has a thin nozzle that feels like it should have given me real accuracy when spraying however I felt like I had to push down quite hard and then it all comes out quite quick defeating the whole purpose of a precise application. It also mentions holding it 10cm away from your roots and doing it in a light stream but by doing that I ended up with brown spots all over my forehead which are easy to wipe off with a makeup wipe. I did find it much easier and tidier doing it in small spurts and closer to my head. I thought I had finally mastered the spraying technique, as I was only getting a couple of tiny spots on my forehead, but then I turned to my cream wardrobe door and it was covered in a million brown spots of all different sizes ... luckily they came off with some heavy handed pressure and a makeup wipe. Makes me wonder where else the spray is ending up - all over my clothes? on the carpet? Once the colour had been applied and I no longer had any visible greys I was very happy. It did make my root area feel quite stiff and by touch it was obvious there was some form of intense product in there but to have my hair looking like its been freshly coloured all the time I am definitely not going to complain. So ... I have a love hate relationship with Magic Retouch - I absolutely love it for the end result and will continue to use it but it makes a surprising and terrible mess on furniture etc. So into the garage I now go to freshen up my hair a couple of times a week over the 6-8 week period in between hair salon appointments.

Tips: Spray in small spurts closer to your head than the recommended 10cm. Make sure you check your hands, forehead and face for spots of colour and wipe off before leaving the house. Maybe use this product in the garage. Easy to use on your main parting.

Bye bye sparkles

I was lucky enough to qualify for the L'Oreal Paris Magic Retouch Review in Dark Brown. Thank you!

I’ll begin with the packaging. L'Oreal Paris Magic Retouch comes in a 75ml can and advertises up to 25 applications. I am not a fan of the sea green coloured can. For me it is not appealing and I wouldn’t be drawn to this on the shelf in a shop. Full instructions are on the back of the can.

There is a pointed/straight applicator which is activated upon pressure. Literally point and aim at the area you want coverage, then press the nozzle. I thought I applied enough pressure when pressing the nozzle and was surprised nothing happened. So went to the next level of pressure and a puff of product came out. I had zero control over how much was dispensed as there was no happy medium with the nozzle.

L'Oreal Paris Magic Retouch Worked fine in my hair parting and around my forehead. It leaves a matte finish and if the product lands on your skin it is easily wiped away,

It takes no time to apply and follow the instructions to use on dry hair and the ‘applying distance’. I am terrible for running my hand through my hair. Yes, the product transferred to my nails and fingers. Oh well.

Ultimately I have no issue using between colouring. It looks natural and there is enough coverage for myself.

Pleased to have the opportunity to trial as I wouldn’t have picked this up from the shelf.

Great for those pesky greys

I have recently started to get a few greys around my hairline :( this product is great for my self confidence as it blends in nicely and covers the greys up as well as giving my hair a little volume boost. It doesnt smell too strong. It is quite overpriced for such a small bottle but you definitely itely get a good quality product for the price.
