L'Oreal PRO XXL VOLUME MASCARA

I am such a fan of this mascara and would recommend it to everyone. I was a little critical before trying this as the 2 step to apply seemed like it would be annoying but it’s super quick and is seriously worth it. It’s a bit strange having white lashes for a minute once you apply the primer but it makes your lashes so thick! 100% gives you a heap of volume and length I am so impressed. I have had slight flakes under my lower lash line at the end of the day but nothing major and am overall super happy with this. The packaging makes it feel quite expensive but it’s a very reasonable price point. It also comes off so easily with a cleanser which is great as I don’t have to rub at my eyes. I will even be buying this for my mum for Xmas. It is quite a long tube as it has primer and mascara so it’s not super travel friendly but otherwise it’s awesome.

Was stoked to finally receive the new L’Oréal pro xxl volume mascara. Item did not come in any sort of packaging but the mascara itself had both ends labeled with 1 and 2 to indicate which side to use first. I do have long lashes but volume is something my lashes lack and am always in search of a good mascara that does the job. Pretty simple and easy to use. The first step and I guess the most important step is to PRIME. The primer is white same as other mascaras that come with primers. The wand for the primer is nice and straight and pretty long which I like as it made application a lot easier and I was able to cover a lot of lashes in one stroke. The second step is to apply the actual mascara. The wand for the mascara is slightly curved to give that perfect lash lift effect. The mascara colour itself is darkest black which is something that I love personally and look for in mascaras. Again step 2 was very easy to apply. Now the result- WOW VOLUME!!! I loved how this looked and the amount of volume my lashes got by using this product. Great daily use mascara and I would highly recommend this to people who are looking for volume. The trick is to PRIME really well and wait a minute or two before applying the mascara. Only thing to remember is that this is not waterproof so have to be mindful of that. Overall a great product and does pretty much what it claims to do.

Love using this mascara. I feel as I've got older my lashes certainly aren't as full and long as what the use to be. This mascara has definitely given them the oomph they need. It is super easy to apply with the 2 steps. I haven't found it gluggy at all. And it seems to last quite well all day at work with my glasses on. Highly recommend!

I haven’t tried a 2 step mascara in years and years so was super keen to see how things had changed in that time. It was really easy to apply, I did step 1 which is white on both pages then went in with step 2 with the black. Both formulas easily coated my lashes and was very pleased to see no clumping! I don’t have long lashes but they’re not short and I’m not normally one to go for a volumising product because I’ve always swayed toward length but I felt this gave me a decent amount of length. It dried down quickly, no smudging, no panda eyes and no flaking. I found it really defined my individual lashes and fanned them out really nicely without making them clumpy or thick. I was really impressed. And to top it all off I found it lasted all day, through groceries and running round after kids and cooking dinner etc. but when the time comes to clean it off it comes away easily with my oil cleanser Definitely adding this one to my repurchase list for mascara and I tell you it’s hard to sway me from my tried and trues but this definitely gave me great results. Would be interested to try the others in this range as I see a few were released.

I had such high hopes for this Mascara for it matching up to the volume of one of the best Mascaras I ever used but is no longer available! It looks pretty glam with it's silver casing. This came uncarded, with no instructions, so if you've never used a two-step mascara before, you're on your own figuring out how long to wait between applying the primer and mascara itself. I took a gamble. At least there is a 1 and a 2 on the wand covers. 1.Primer has a straight brush wand. For those never using a lash primer before, this is white and thick, however too thick to get evenly on the brush, which made it hard to apply evenly on lashes. After several goes at gently moving the brush inside so as not to get clumps, application was sort of even, and did build a good volume base. 2. Mascara, has a curved brush wand, and the black is brilliant, which I assume is the 'black booster' technology. The curve brush helps define the primed lashes into a really good shape and separate. Together, once all the primer is covered, my lashes definitely looked much longer, thicker, and more glamourous than I've had in ages using other mascaras. I got several compliments within a short space of time on how amazing my eyes looked. However. This is not smudge proof, and I found out the hard way. About two hours after applying, I left a lunch with a charming person who usually makes lots of eye contact with me, but hadn't. I felt miffed, put my sunglasses on, and left. but then ... Upon getting in the car and removing my sunglasses, I was horrified to look in the rear view mirror to see lines and lines of black mascara above my eyes/under my eyebrows on both sides. EEEEEK. SMUDGE PROOF SHE IS NOT.

Yes, that's how long my lashes had become, but oh no, it will not work as a mascara in summer.

Bonus points: I have found many volume mascara's cause me to feel like I've got weights on my eye lashes, flake into my eyes, and leave my eyeballs irritated. This did none of that!

Overall, I absolutely love the aesthetic, the intense, glam black volume is what I have been looking for! But this was let down by hard to apply primer, and smudging. I will wear again, but not in warm, sunny or humid environments.

This is my first experience with a two-step mascara and I really liked it. First you coat your lashes with the primer which is a white substance claiming to lengthen and increase the volume of your lashes. Then you apply the mascara over top of that. I waited until the primer had a chance to dry off a little before applying the mascara (I wasn’t sure if you were meant to do that, there aren’t any instructions and I couldn’t see any guidance online - but it worked for me).

The end result is jet black lashes that really do look longer. I was worried that a volumising mascara would lead to clumps and lumps but that wasn’t the case. Lash definition was excellent.

It lasts all day with no smudging or crumbling and is very easy to apply with a well shaped applicator brush.

My teen daughter, who would love to get eyelash extensions, loves this product too as it’s the closest product she’s found to falsies. High praise!

I have really enjoyed trialling this mascara. It really does give you great volume. The two step application is great and the primer goes on well, the brush isn’t too big and then the mascara has a great curved brush and application is very easy. The ends on the mascara tube are numbered so you always open the right end of the mascara, great for ease of application. This mascara isn’t waterproof, and I have had some smudges at times. I usually prefer a waterproof mascara, but that aside, this mascara is very easy to wash off at the end of the day. All in all a really good mascara and application is easy. I would buy this mascara and use it on a regular basis.

L'Oreal's Pro XXL Volume mascara claims that it provides an instant 3D volume effect with black booster technology for an intense look. I hoped it would be true …

First step, coat lashes evenly with the white volumising mascara primer to add volume.

Next step, intensify lashes with the black booster technology mascara. The application was simple enough, wiggle the straight wand marked 1 into lashes to build volume. The white primer coats lashes, giving length and volume. Repeat with the curved mascara wand. The shape of this wand gives good coverage and makes it easier to get into the corners.

Did it work? No. The primer didn't give much volume at all, but it did add length. If I waited for the primer to dry before adding mascara, the mascara wand tugged at my lashes and pulled a few of them out. The mascara also took ages to dry, often leaving me with 'spider tracks' under my eyes and panda eyes later on in the day. My first use of the wands made me feel like the tube should have been designed the opposite way around, with the wands in the lids and the product in the body.

Overall, I'm not impressed with this mascara and won't be purchasing any, or recommending it. I dislike having panda eyes, especially when I'm seeing clients all day. I get more volume and staying power from a cheap brand of mascara just by adding extra coats. This primer did nothing for volume but definitely added length, and the awkward tube shape isn't comfortable to use. Unfortunately, this is a no from me.
