You need to buy the champagne gel liner!!!

I found the champagne coloured gel liner from L.A. Girl in my mother's makeup bag a couple of years ago I believe and decided to try it on my inner corner. I became hooked!! It has the prettiest champagne gold highlight that just opens your eyes and brightens them. When I can't be bothered wearing a full face of makeup I'll just apply this on my lower lash like and inner corner, pop on some mascara, and I feel good to face the world. The creaminess of the gel formula makes it truly glide on with ease, it also makes it easy to blend. But it sets in place and lasts all day too! Now I need to go out and buy more colours.

For those wondering, yes I have bought my own champagne gel liner and no longer use my mother's haha.

Stunning colours

I was wandering around life pharmacy when I saw these wee beauties. They had a buy 2 get 1 free so I thought why not give them a go. They are $8 each normally. I got 2 black auto liners and a gel pencil in a gorgeous dark metallic purple.

I don't wear eyeliner too often as I hate when it goes all above my eyelids and is too high maintenance, but these are just so great! Nice creamy formula which glides easily onto my lids. No tugging at all and the colour is very pigmented. What more can I ask for.

Once applied the eyeliner stays put! It does not budge at all. I need a heavy duty eye make up remover for this. Such a great eyeliner for such a low price. It sharpens easily and I have not had it break off at all.

I want to try more colours in this range, especially the blue. Highly recommend these and I think you can pick them up even cheaper elsewhere.

Deep Black - The Best Black

I'm a huge stickler when it comes to eyeliners. I've tried many over the years that have sadly been a disappointment - not black enough, too smudgy, hard to work with etc.

However I'm happy to report that this one is not any of those disappointments.

It does exactly what it says it does and that is that it glides on easily. It has a slightly creamy/gel type texture that shows great pigmentation.

I bought these in 3 shades - Deep Black, Whiten and Royal Blue. I really like the Royal Blue, really makes me eyes pop and I've had a few compliments when wearing this. The Whiten - I'm not quite sure whether I'm doing this one right but I find it too thick and gluggy, not like the other two. The Deep Black is my favourite and will be my go to eyeliner in the future.

I just wanted to note also that I have super sensitive eyes and I find it hard to find an eyeliner that does not irritate or make my eyes itch. This one is great for those with eye sensitivity.

The big question - does it smudge? If I'm honest yes it does a little but that is only if you rub your eyes like I sometimes do and I forget I have it on and wallah - black panda emerges. It will also depend on the season at the time too - in the summer time I would highly recommend using some form of a setting spray or powder if that is a possibility with eyeliner. Need to look into that part a bit more.

Highly recommend and I would have given 5 stars if it hadn't been for the Whiten not being so great.

Stays put!

I love a good richly pigmented smudgy eyeliner pencil, but unfortunately most pencils that fit that description continue to smudge throughout the day… and I DON’T love ending up with streaks of eyeliner all over my eyelids and halfway down my face. This is why, when I purchased this LA Girl gel pencil, I was happily surprised and quickly convinced of its awesomeness.

I have mine in the shade Dark Brown, which is a lovely deep chocolatey brown that’s dark enough to be defining without being as harsh as black. I love the packaging for these pencils – the main casing is black, but the pattern, bottom and writing is in the colour of the actual pencil, which makes it easy to find in the makeup drawer.

The pencil itself is extremely creamy and extremely pigmented. I don’t have to press hard or tug when drawing across my lashline, and it’s basically a pleasure to apply. It takes about 30 seconds to set properly, so that gives time to smudge it out further if needed, but once it’s set it doesn’t budge. I don’t have any problems with it travelling anywhere else on my face (yay! haha), and it even holds up pretty well in the inner part of my eyelid (I tend to rub my eyes, so most things don’t last through that, but this pretty much does), and the colour doesn’t fade away during the day either. I don’t ever apply it to my waterline, as I don’t like how that looks on me, so I can’t comment on staying power there, but I imagine it would last well compared to a normal pencil liner.

My only complaint with this is that because the pencil is so soft and creamy it can be a bit hard to sharpen easily, although a good cosmetic sharpener is definitely better than a normal pencil sharpener. Apart from that, however, this is a seriously great, inexpensive eyeliner that lasts amazingly. I’m definitely planning on picking up some of the other colours soon!

Tips: Put in the freezer before sharpening - it stops the soft pencil from breaking off so easily, and makes it easier to get a sharper tip. :)
