I have the neutral shades palette and i love it. The eyeshadow goes on really easy and actually stays on for most of the day. There is a good mix of matte and sparkly shades and they all complement each other well for a great look. Even though this is really cheap, it is probably my favourite lot of eyeshadows that I own. I love the double end brush too!

Really affordable palletes! I’ve never been an eyeshadow girl because I’m not the best at applying. I bought the neutral shades pallete along with the ultra shades pallete and I must say, they have so much pigment which is great because it makes the colours on my eyes stand out so much!
I have been fortunate enough to receive the Smoky LA Girl Palette from beauty review, to test out and give a review.
Now, where to begin.
1. Packaging I'm definitely the type of person who judges by the packaging and well... I can't say that I like or dislike the LA Girl Palette's look. It's simple, that's a plus for me. You can see the colours from the outside without having to open the palette, I like that too. There is big writing on the front to say what type of palette it is, so mine says SMOKY, so if I did happen to have all 4 LA girl palettes, well then I would be able to pick out the one I wanted easily! I own a few other eyeshadow palettes, all of the urban decay naked palettes, and I have a Coastal Scents eye palette too and the LA girl palette is easy to pick out from them since it's black and I can see the eyeshadow colours.
2. Inside When you open the palette you will find a nice double side brush for eyeshadow application, a mirror on top and 12 different eyeshadow colours. There is also a mix of shimmers and matte shades to choose from.
3. Application I like that there was a brush in the palette so I didn't have to go looking through my things to find a brush that would work. I used the brush that was given and firstly swatched the colours to see which colours I should use.. The colours weren't the same. Well, not EXACTLY the same as what was in the pan, but I wasn't surprised there since I have a few other palettes already and that was the same case. There aren't names for each eyeshadow like the naked palettes.. so I just kind of counted them off like, today I will use colour 11. (my fave one so far) I definitely liked the colours once I got used to them. You can use the mattes for everyday wear, nice but still subtle, and you can use the shimmers for a nice out. They colours went on nicely as long as I had primer on, I didn't have to use much eyeshadow to get the colours to stick.
4. Verdict I'm definitely happy with this palette. The colours are great, the are up there, if not the same level as my naked palettes. And for $15!? I think I need to get the other palettes ASAP!
Tips: ALWAYS use primer if you want the colours to pop, and of course if you want the eyeshadow to last all day.
The LA Girl Nude beauty brick palette comes in a simple yet sturdy lightweight glossy cardboard exterior case (which shuts closed nicely due to a small magnet contraption inside the lid) with a plastic/harder interior which holds the actual eyeshadows (I hope that makes sense lol) . It contains 12 eyeshadows, a small built-in mirror in the lid , and a long double ended brush/sponge applicator.
I've only used the brush end of the applicator and found the bristles to be super soft and sturdy. It didn't feel rough or scratchy against my skin. The brush is a bit on the small / less fluffy side though so I think it's best used to highlight the inner corners of the eye as well as the brow bone rather than been used as a blending brush.
The eye shadows come in 3 matte colours and 9 shimmers. Personally I would have preferred at least 1 or 2 more matte colours. I found that the more buttery/baked textured shimmers had less fallout and was easier to pick up than the more powdery matte colours. However all the colours build up really well and last all day/night long.
Over all I am super super super impressed with this eyeshadow palette. And for the price its a must have in every makeup lovers collection! I will definitely be repurchasing this in the future, along with the other 2 pallets :)
This palette has surprised me so much! It is currently my go to palette as its perfect for everyday use. There is a good mixture of mattes and shimmers.
I got these for Christmas this year, and I'm really happy with them! The eye shadow is pigmented enough that it stays on all day (I'm a waitress in a really not environment and it doesn't budge, even without primer.)
I use my own brush (one from the Body Shop) to apply and blend because the one supplied isn't ideal. It has quite a bit of fall out, which is one of the only downsides, but given the price ($13.99) it's a really, really good palette. It comes off easily (despite it's seemingly legendary staying power) and hasn't made my very sensitive skin or eyes itch!
The packaging is very basic and unattractive however, which is another negative.
When I first saw these palettes online the person selling them seemed to have trouble getting people to buy them. That paired with the fact that Tati used the Smokey palette and didn't love it, I was totally put off of these. I thought they would never work.
Then she popped one into my order because she knows how much I love eyeshadow palettes. I'd also seen these go out as trials here on BR so I already knew I wanted to try the Ultra palette, if I had to try one.
Overall I'm pretty happy with the palette. I collect eyeshadows so I have a wide range of qualities when it comes to eyeshadows and these are pretty great. Not high end quality, and for the price, who can expect that? But really quite good. The Ultra palette is full of pretty purple toned shades with a few neutrals thrown in. For me personally I do need to grab a matte, mid toned brown to throw in the crease as a transition shade because of the lack of mattes in this particular palette, but overall I do love it. The purples are stunning and it's definitely a cool toned palette and even using it for a pop of purple when using an entirely neutral palette is really fun.
I feel like with this little range there is a palette for everyone, whether you love bright looks, bold looks, neutral looks... I'm psyched to buy more of these honestly. I think for the price, you're getting pretty wonderful quality. I am intent on owning all four.
Very pigmented and works as it says it would. The case is magnetised and strong which keeps all the colours safe which is great. The mirror is handy and the product is very good for the price. I found the brush a bit stiff so I don't use it but other than that it's a pretty good pallete. There's also a range of colours which is nice for more variation in looks if I wanted to. (i have the neons pallete)
I was lucky to review the L.A.Girl Palette Ultra. It is the perfect palette choice for me, because it has gorgeous purple tones. And did you know that no matter what eye colour you have purple works great to emphasize it? Yep, this is so true! I really liked that there are at least three colours of one colour scale in the palette. The range goes from pinks to greyish blue, purple and to brown. All the colours are shimmery why I substituted my base after a few times with another matte eye shadow. They are very soft and powdery but fortunately the colours do not seem to fall off when applying and afterwards. The single shades have a different consistency. Some are more pigmented and easier to blend than others. The packaging is not the highest quality, but a double-ended makeup brush is included that has a synthetic bristle flat brush on one end and a sponge-tip applicator on the other that is very good for applying. All in all I think this palette is a really good choice if you like shimmery colours. You get a lot for the relatively small price.
Tips: Try the colours before putting them on your eyelid. I found that it did look nothing like the colours in the pan.
I have the nude in this colours it’s a fave of mine because some of the colours are especially good for when you are going out and you want to jazz your eyes up a bit more then usual. A little sparkle but still natural with out being over the top is the reason why I love this one. Good product lasts the night and supper easy to use. Also great not to wake with sore eyes too perfect
