I have very fair and quite sensitive skin and while I can tan slightly I normally burn so I need a good protection high SPF sunscreen that is suitable for our harsh climate therefore I normally only wear sunscreens that are made in NZ. This sunscreen is made in France but offers 50 + protection against both UVA and UVB rays so I was excited to trial this product as it is hard to find a sensitive, ultra thin facial sunscreen.
The sunscreen comes in a 50ml bottle with a thin nozzle. I found the design rather frustrating as the sunscreen is super runny in consistency that sometimes after you shake the bottle and open the lid it can ooze out the top. This would be the only negative I had with this product and is not a flaw of the sunscreen itself. I applied the sunscreen to my face and neck after I had cleansed and moisturisered my face. I then applied my usual make-up. The great thing about this sunscreen is how light it feels on your skin. It absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a white sheen on your face. It's also has a pleasant scent too. I felt like I was using a make up primer rather then a sunscreen.
The verdict: This sunscreen gave great sun protection for over the 2hours timeframe stated on the bottle. ( I wouldn't recommend leaving it longer however as this was something I didn't plan to do). I have used it about half a dozen times before writing this review and so far I haven't been sunburn, had any skin irritation or breakouts. I haven't tried it while exercising or during water activities yet so I can't comment about its effectiveness there.
While it is rather pricey at $31.99 for 50mls I highly recommend this suncreen for sensitive skin types or anyone wanting a high level of protection that feels lovely and light on your skin.
This facial sunscreen carries a pretty hefty price tag for only 50ml (about $32 I think) however it is TOTALLY WORTH EVERY CENT! It applies beautifully to the face and you only need a small amount.
The product comes in small white bottle with a screw top lid. I found the lid a little annoying because it requires two hands to put back on (whilst also juggling the sunscreen you've poured into your hand). I think a flip top would have been better.
The cream itself is quite a thin cream. You only need a really small amount to cover your face and neck. It glides on to the skin really well (I prefer to apply moisturiser before sunscreen so this probably helps). The cream is not at all greasy or sticky like most sunscreens. It absorbs into the skin almost immediately and you wouldn't even know it was on there.
I found it worked really well both under make up (although I did find that applying a moisturiser on top of the sunscreen made make up application easier) and on its own.
This is easily the best facial sunscreen I have tried. It's actually hard to believe it's sunscreen since it doesn't have that horrible sunscreen smell or greasiness. It's pricey, but a little goes a long way and I will definitely be buying this again.
Tips: Apply moisturiser overtop of the product before applying make up
