Absolutely not suitable for sensitive skin. It didn't work neither for me (normal skin succeptibpe to eczema) not for my wife (oily acne prone skin). It burnt my cheeks a lot and my wife got acne after using it. The tinted version is even worse as it's a horrible shade of pink that makes you look sunburnt.

I *thought* I shook the bottle really well, might be just me.
It says "New Ultra-light texture. Nude-skin effect fluid. Non-greasy, invisible finish."
I found the texture to be similar to runny PVA and even smells a bit like it. (It claims to be fragrance-free so it might just naturally smell like that?)
On first application it does feel slightly greasy - to be honest all sunscreens feel greasy to me. But after being outside for a bit that sort of disappears. Probably needs time to work itself into the skin. The slight shine from application will disappear too and it does feel light.
Tips: Shake it vigorously - like, *really* well!
I used this whilst on holiday as I needed a great sunscreen which wouldn’t clog up my pores. But boy wasn’t I in for a treat, this item didn’t protect me from the skin as well as my regular nivea. But also it didn’t prevent clogged pores. If you use your this you’ll get breakouts which isn’t ideal. I thoroughly regret buying this and do not recommend.
I am really impressed with this ugh it does have a “sunscreeny” odor it is not offensive and not overwhelming. The consistency is very thin and does tend to separate a touch and I would suggest giving it a good shake before opening. I quite often react or break out with sunscreen on my face but I had no issues with this at all. The product sat nicely under my makeup and I actually used it instead of a primer or moisturiser and it held up well. Though summer has not quite hit yet I am very fair and burn basically at the sight of sun but this was lovely to use and worked well in the lead up to summer. The packaging is very clean and crisp, thought the bottle is very small. I do think a little will go a long way however so this should last you a season at which point you would probably want to buy a new bottle any. One small gripe is that I could not easily find an expiry date on this which when it comes to sunscreen is important. On further inspection there is an expiry indicator but it means downloading a QRcode scanning app and scanning said code before being able to determine the expiry. On attempting to scan the code it was also too small to even be able to read it. Saving grace is that there is an expiry on the box however you would have to keep the box which is also impractical.
Tips: Give It a good shake before you use it, and be careful as the product tends to overflow the top of the tube.
I don't really have much to say about this product. Good or bad. I used it for about a week. It's a good sunscreen I guess. I liked the fact that it doesn't have that usual sunscreen smell and that it doesn't seem to sit on top of the skin. The packaging annoys me because its so runny that way more comes out when you use it than you actually want or need, so there wastage.
Tips: Watch out while applying this because it's very runny and more comes out than you need
I have had outstanding results from other La Roche Posay sunscreen, so had high hopes for this.
50ml is the standard size offered by LRP for all their facial sunscreens, but the price is still relatively high compared to other sunblocks available at the pharmacy.
The product instructs you to shake the bottle vigorously before application. I’ve found I have to shake for at least two minutes to guarantee I won’t get white patches which then ball up and rub off my face! This would be extra annoying if you have a dark or tan skin tone.
It claims to be ultra lightweight, but I found the product very oily. I like a moisturising element to my sunscreen but this would definitely not work well for oily skinned individuals.
Overall, I won’t repurchase. However the LRP comfort sunscreen range is absolutely worth investing in.
I was excited to get a sample of La Roche-Posay® Anthelios XL Ultra Light SPF50+ to review. I have fair, freckled, sensitive skin, so a high SPF product designed for skin like mine appealed.
At 50ml, the trial container is small enough to fit in your handbag, and a little goes a long way. The product is a thin liquid consistency, but felt slightly gritty and greasy when it went on. The feeling did linger and I probably wouldn't purchase this product because of that.
I used this on several sunny days and didn't burn, so it's more effective for me than normal sunblock products.
All in all, I did find this product effective, and for sensitive skin it's great to have options, but I didn't think the downsides were worth it.
Tips: I noticed it left an opaque white residue on my clothes, so don't wear this with a LBD or you may look a bit strange!
I was really pleased to see when I got this sunscreen to trial that it was suitable for sensitive skin. Oh and French made sounded appealing. I have been using everyday on my face and neck area. Often under my makeup but I have also worn it on it's own. It didn't seem to affect my makeup and how it stayed on throughout the day which was a plus! When used on it's own it did leave my face looking a little bit greasy (although supposedly it doesn't) but that eventually went away after half an hour. It comes in a little bottle and is definately a runny liquidy type fluid. The first time I used it I somehow managed to get it everywhere so pays to use with caution. I didn't have any sensitivity which is another plus and it smells alright. It is also paraben free. That being said I probably wouldn't purchase this product in future simply because I'm not a huge fan of the packaging and how the product comes out/the bottle design. A good facial sunscreen overall, just wish it came in different packaging.
I tried this a few months ago because my beauty therapist suggested it. I have never had much luck with sunscreen and makeup worn together but this one ticks most of the boxes. It's a very light lotion so a little goes a long way and it smells really nice. It's got a good container that you must shake below use. The best part for me was it doesn't make my makeup pill underneath it and lastly it doesn't find its way into my eyes at all during the day. I am sensitive around the eye area and always find sunscreens bad for this. I will be buying my of this to wear all summer long and look into their other sunscreen products aswell.
I have read a lot about this sunscreen and decided to try but was very disappointed.
It was very grainy and not smooth on my face. I can't find the expiry date on the box, maybe it was old stock.
Tips: Use on arms and neck areas not on face if you happen to get a grainy bottle.
