This sunscreen has a strange texture. It doesn't feel as thick as most sunscreens but it is super easy to apply. It has a nice spout that allows you to put the right amount in your hands to rub on your face. It is instantly absorbed and leaves no white streaks. My 10year old son did not like the texture, he said it feels funny. There is no smell and you can't really feel it once you have applied it. Unfortunately I was unable to test its ability to prevent sunburn because the weather has been terrible for the majority of the time I have had it. I was a little shocked at how small the bottle is though, it wouldn't last my family of 4 very long.

Let me start by saying this was amazing! Everything about it from the coverage, the smell, the the thickness off the lotion to its effectiveness. I spent a weekend down in the King Country doing sheep docking in wind and sun and my skin afterwards was still soft and clear of any damage. I love how you can notice your skin looks soft and clear like you are looking after it! The only one downside is the smaller size of the bottle and the slightly dearer price, but I think the effectiveness of this product certainly makes up for it and as a suncare product through Summer it is definitely worth its weight in gold!
I've repurchased this four times so can testify this is a great sunscreen! It's great for oily skin and I'm sure it would work well for normal or dry skin too.
I've tried lots of different sunscreens and always find them either too greasy (like body sunscreens) which causes breakouts and looks bad or they give too much of a white cast (like zinc), but I don't have those issues with this one. The formula is really lightweight (it's quite liquid-y) so it sits well under makeup and doesn't cause any pilling.
The only negative thing about the formula is that if I apply it too soon after a vitamin C serum I feel light stinging/tingling so it's possible it might react with products with high concentrations (my vit c is about 20%).
The only other negative is that it's tiny (like most facial sunscreens) so every time I repurchase it I hesitate because of the price and quantity. It would be amazing if it was sold in larger quantities. Overall it's a great formula though and I will most likely keep repurchasing it!
Tips: If you apply any serums wait 10 minutes before applying this sunscreen to avoid reactions.
Great under your foundation, definitely good SPF, my only ‘complaint’ would be that the lotion is a little runny, but then you dont need it as a moisturiser, so works well.
Tips: Make sure you shake the bottle before use
I can't usually use sunscreen on my face as my skin just reacts. I use this alongside another similar product. It's very watery, alot goes a long way. Reason I gave it 4 stars is its expensive for what it is. I apply to my face, neck & declotage. It doesn't react to my very sensitive skin. I originally bought the tinted one, hated it, until someone suggested adding a bit of moisturiser for easier application and it worked, so occasionally use that too. This sunscreen sits well under makeup, doesn't rub off which is great and doesn't give you a white cast look it blends well. No offensive smell. I just hope it's protecting my skin as some sunscreens have been reported to under perform.
Tips: Shake bottle well before applying. Leave on for a minute or so before applying Tinted Moisturiser, BB Cream or Foundation
Wow what can I say but wow!!
Easy to use, no smell, and doesn’t leave that sunscreen feeling.
Having always used the Mecca save face spf30 facial sunscreen it was nice to give this a go and have something I swear by as a comparison and I can say it did not fail.
It’s super runny so be aware when you use you don’t need to squeeze the bottle and you only need a small amount as it smooths on to your face really well. Make sure to give it a good shake before you use or it seperates though.
I trialled this both with makeup and without and lucky it sinks into your skin well so works amazing under makeup and does not effect how your makeup goes on.
While it’s a small bottle for $34 it goes a long way so price wise id say it’s very reasonable. Bottle is very boring looking not really a beauty looking product but nothing that would make me turn away.
I think this product is amazing and will work well for my skin over summer saving it from any damage.
Tips: Shake well!! Very well!!
Time to rethink how I feel about facial sunscreen, and this makes it easy to start using this in my daily routine. I like the way this is marketed, the catch-phrase for the "Sun Intolerant", made me smile, as that is definatley what I am, so I dived on in and started using this every day. The package is small, and rectangular, the cap screws off to a nozzle type applicator, not much bigger than a pack on mints, much better than a hole in a lid on a tube! I would call this a light non greasy lotion rather than the heavy sloppy thick cream that I had perceived all sunscreen to be. Application was easy, it comes out of the nozzle without much force, and seeing as this is so light in texture it melts into the skin, once left to dry, there was no excessive oiliness, and no irritation, this is so light I do not see this clogging my pores at all, yay! There is a slight chemically smell to this, but its not offensive or off putting, and it diminishes as the fluid dries, there is also no white residue left behind on the skin, so fantastic to use in the morning pre-makeup. Early days yet on how effective this can be, but being SPF +, and UVA and UVB resistant, I am looking forward to not getting a burnt nose this summer, good for the whole family to use, I have no worries in making sure we are all protected from the sun!
Tips: Make sure you shake the container, and remove the lid carefully, the lotion is so light and runny it will automatically dispense if you don't!
When I first received this I was shocked at how small the package was, as when I think of sunscreen I always imagine a massive tube that you slather on.
The formula of this sunscreen is a light non-greasy lotion rather than thick cream which most sunscreens are. Which means application was easy and also getting out of the packaging was also easy, due to the consistency of the product it meant that you got an even application with no wastage / excess product.
The sunscreen worked well on a fresh face, no tightness or feeling of clogged pores and also worked great under foundation too! Which is always a great bonus! I love the fact that it doesn't have a strong scent and is super lightweight, so it is great for everyday use.
The price tag does scare me a little bit but a little does go a long way!
Tips: Beware if you haven't used this before as it comes out of the packaging much quicker than expected!
I must admit i was quite surprised at the size of the bottle when i first received it. Even the consistency of the product was a little surprising. The bottle itself is quite small ( but not too much of an issue considering the amount of product you need is less), however, for the price the product does not feel very luxe at first glance or feel. Basically does not match the sound of the fancy name. Also a fliptop lid would be more practical for us ladies who dont like their bottles getting greasy. The product itself is fluid-like and very easy to glide on. It works as an excellent makeup base, however, if you want to wear your makeup for a long time you might notice your pores start getting magnified by the end of the day, but this is natural considering the product is a SPF50. For daily use, the product is awesome and does what it says it would do. Is not very greasy..almost feels non greasy but you do know you have something on. It has no fragrance which is a good thing, a very handy size for the handbag. On the first application, i didn't feel any tingling or burning or any different sensation..it went on as a normal moisturizer.'i have grown to love the consistency and would'nt like to go back to a thicker one. All in all i would definitely keep using the product as the pros outweigh the cons.
Tips: Liquid consistency so please be a little careful when getting the product out.
The La Roche-Posay sunscreen is a nice light lotion for skin. It doesn't leave white marks and offers a 50+ sun protection rating, which I need in summer. It's not greasy and I can layer it under my makeup. It's suitable for my sensitive skin, which is great! I'm not fond of the bottle it is in. I find that it is deceptively small. Also, I read the ingredients and from what research I've done on sunscreen, I'm not a big fan of the ingredients they use for sun protection. This is purely a personal preference thing however. I do like it, and it does what it says it does.
Tips: I read somewhere once that you need to let sunscreen sit 8 minutes or so before applying makeup on top. This won't disrupt the protection it offers.
