Wow this stuff is incredible

Being winter and with all the hand washing and sanitizing going on my hands were in a state, they were sore, cracked to the point of almost bleeding and no moisturizer seemed to be helping at all.... until now! I have been using this a week now and my hands have healed. There's no more cracks and the dry patches are disappearing. I am so so grateful to have been given this to trial and will definitely be purchasing once its gone.

It is very thick and be warned a little goes a long way (on my first application I ended up covering all the way to my elbows ). There's no strong fragrance and it didn't hurt to apply when my skin was cracked unlike some others. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to replenish moisture in their hands.

Tips: I keep it by the sink to use after handwashing and drying so I dont forget

AMAZING

I have heard great things about this product from dermatologists online, but hadn’t purchased because the Aveeno Dermexa range works in a similar way. But. I have now made a permanent switch to Cicaplast Mains.

This is HIGHLY occlusive. If you wash/damage your hands a lot at work then this will protect and repair them well. But I’ve been using it on my face to soothe irritation from using retinol. It really works to lock in moisture on the face, but would be far too heavy for very oily skin.

The addition of niacinamide was a nice surprise too. It will take a while to see if it helps with my hyperpigmentation (especially since I am slowly introducing retinol too) but evidence suggests it is highly effective.

Thanks BR!

Absorbent and non-sticky

I generally don't use hand creams as much as I should because I don't like the creamy, sticky residue feeling that most have. With the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Mains product, this wasn't an issue at all as the product (which comes out more like a vaseline looking gel) absorbed straight into my skin and left them feeling soft and smooth. After about a week of using the cream, my partner mentioned how soft my nails felt - something I hadn't really noticed or thought of. I work outside and in work gloves most days so my hands get the odd callous here and there but, over the past couple weeks of trialing this product, all except my outer callouses have smoothed over and virtually disappeared!

Would definitely recommend for anyone who is looking for a non-greasy hand-repair cream!

Tips: I'd read in another review that the cream can double up as a moisturiser/eye cream and gave it a try. I didn't notice any bad results so suppose it could be used as such in a pinch.

Silky soft hands

I never really use hand cream due to the fact I've always found them to be overwhelmingly greasy. However this hand cream is an absolute GAME CHANGER.

I work in a job where I wear heavy duty gloves on a daily basis. So often my hands can get extremy dry. I've been using this hand cream after my shifts for over a week now and my hands have never felt so soft.

The product is generously sized and you don't need a large amount of the cream for your hands to feel the benefit.

The product doesn't have much of a smell and absorbs quickly into the skin. The consistency isnt overly thick either- it almost looks gel like.

I actually sort of wish they would formulate something similar for a moisturiser. Imagine if my face could feel THAT good immediatley?

Definitley one of the best products I've come across in YEARS.

Hands feel supple and beautiful after every use !

Tips: Make sure to apply around your nails and cuticles for maximum effect. Do not wash your hands immediatley after application.

Needed

Just like everyone else at the moment my hand washing and use of hand sanitiser my hands have become quite raw. Before lockdown they were getting particularly red and raw. So when I had the opportunity to review this I was all over it. Especially because I already love the La Roche-Posay brand - their sunscreen is outstanding.

Packaging is a nice simple plastic squeezy tube - I like this as I’m sick of metal tubes that split at the sides.

This might just be me as I live in a colder climate (Dunedin...) but I find it quite a thick gel like formula. I think that if I was in a warmer climate it might not be as thick feeling. I didn’t find this had any scent which I thought was great as I can be quite sensitive to that. This does say that it is a barrier cream so it does sit on the skin for some time before sinking in. For that reason I have been keeping this beside my bed for nighttime application before sleep. This is probably not something to use during the day where you want to do things - particularly no opening jars! But overall I do find this does a great job of moisturising your hands.

Love a bit of hand cream - perfect for this time in my life where my hands need some extra TLC.

Two very happy thumbs up!!

This is hands down the best hand cream I have used on my very geriatric looking hands!

My hands suffer like I imagine most peoples may be at the moment with all the extra hand washing and sanitising. I also get allergies from disposable gloves and my hands feel the cold terribly so this does not help the feel or look of my hands at all. They honestly look like they have more flakes than a bowl of cornflakes, more scales than a snake sloghing, tougher grit than sandpaper... you get my drift! They are dry, cracked, red and have patchiness.

The box and tube is very typical LRP with the blue and white. The instructions are in a lot of languages which is reassuring that they must be quite popular globally. But its simple - Apply as needed.

I started with application at night and instantly my hands felt smooth and moisturised. The formula itself looks and seems very similar to the neutrogena hand cream that everyone has used at some point most likely.. only this works - and is not slippery. It also trumps the antipodes hand cream joyful I had been using.. I was also that desperate I used the saviour cream also on my hands but that was too slimy.

It acts like a barrier cream and that's exactly what it does so one application lasts quite a while. I only use morning, night and when I remember.. not after every wash or sanitise etc. It doesn't disappear once applied it is like a barrier so the protection is ongoing. That's why I love applying at night before bed.. like a little hand mask. It was a non greasy, non slippery - can still use your phone afterwards formula - which I love!

It has taken these elderly looking mitts back in time - they are soft and smooth with no cracking or bleeding and the best part a persistent dry cracked patch that runs up the length of my index finger has actually softened and healed immensely. I cant believe how quick it has been to turn around results.

They are even brave enough to recommend for home and professional use so must believe in their product which is nice to see. They are also quite active on their Instagram account and are so happy to answer any questions about their products which is very nice to see. If you want to try before you buy life pharmacy is back to doing testers now covid 19 is level 1 in NZ plus they have a pretty good rewards system that makes it a bit sweeter.

Hands down - the best!

Tips: Apply just before bed for a nice wee hand mask overnight.

Non-oily, practical cream

I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial this hand cream from La Roche-Posay. The cream comes in a white box with a picture of a hand on it, and a blue stripe on the box’s lid. As with other La Roche Posay products, the description and instructions for the product are written on the outside in several languages, including braille. The hand cream can be applied as often as necessary, and it claims that it “soothes and repairs the skin’s protective barrier.” The cream itself comes in a 50ml white tube which matches the box. The tube stands on its head and it has a flip lid.

I find that my hands get very dry and sore in winter, partly from handwashing and partly from the cold temperatures. I always moisturise my hands every night in winter. Since this cream has arrived for trial I have applied it every night before bed. The product squeezes out easily. The cream itself is a milky white and it has no scent. On the box it claims that this cream is quick-absorbing, invisible, non-oily, and non-sticky. All of that is true. This is not oily at all and it absorbs quickly. It feels very light on the skin. It has not irritated my sensitive skin either. The condition of the skin on my hands and nails has improved since I started using this, including clearing up some dry skin that I had under my fingernails.

Altogether I think this is a very good, fuss free, and practical cream that would work well for someone who needs to moisturise their hands throughout the day. I am really enjoying this cream and I will continue to use it after the trial ends.

Tips: The tube is small enough to fit in a handbag, so it can easily be transported anywhere.

La Roche-Posay® Cicaplast Mains

I was sent this hand cream for review. Like everyone, my hands have been thrashed by the constant hand washing and sanitising of late. I have pretty dry hands at the best of times and over washing can make the skin near my nails crack.

This product has been a really good, practical one to have on my desk at work. It’s a thick, fragrance-free cream that reminds me of the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula cream I used back in the day. It leaves my hand feeling amazing afterwards and it absorbs fast enough so they don’t feel too greasy. I found that sanitising not long after application didn’t seem to affect the barrier layer much either.

It’s in a sturdy screw-top tube that I feel confident to throw in my bag without fearing a spill. Normally I prefer to use something that smells amazing for a bit of a pick me up, but this is a good and solid option when I need some serious moisture. I’m happy to have both options on the go.

I would definitely buy this again but I feel like it will be a long time before I need to. A little goes a long way and it feels like this tube is going to last for ages.

It really works!

My hands have been sore and riddled with dermatitis since being in hospital 3 months ago (the hand sanitiser is not very soft on the skin).

In the past 3 months I have tried many hand barrier creams and hand repair gels and nothing has worked too well. Im happy to say that this hand barrier cream has made quite a lot of difference. I have used it various times a day. It has repaired my hands. I have noticed a vast improvement in my dermatitis and my hands have been so much softer and hydrated.

The only downfall for me is that it burns when I have an open cut on my hand BUT I expect that with anything I put on it.

You get 50mls in a tube and it retails for $17.99. I really like this product and I will repurchase as it has been the only product to clear up my dermatitis on my hands

So nourishing

I’m so glad I discovered La Roche-Posay. The range is so great for my sensitive skin. I use it for cleanser and moisturizer and it just really works for my skin. It’s in so good condition now.

I was so excited to try this hand Creme. Due to a lot of sanitizer use my hands had got quite dry and cracked and hand moisturiser is just what I needed.

The packaging is simple, sleek, modern and looks high end. I am a fan of the simple La Roche-Posay packaging. It looks great in my bathroom.

The consistency is nice and sinks into my hands quickly. It has a pleasant smell and I love the focus on non nasty ingredients, as my skin can be rather reactive.

The formula left my hands so nourished and moisturised. Also so smooth! My hands were looking very dry and sensitive but this has really assisted to give my hands moisture.

I am impressed by this product and definitely recommend for those with dry and sensitive hands.

Five stars.

Tips: A great size to pop in your handbag.
