As with the eye contour, I LOVE this face cream. I have very sensitive skin and suffer allergies and eczema and sometimes it can be frustrating buying and trying all the different products trying to find something that not only doesn't irritate my skin but also soothes when I need it and makes my skin look and feel better. This product works for me. The texture is thicker than the eye cream, rich & silky soft and it leaves my skin feeling the same way! I have noticed my skin is smoother, softer, hydrated and it lasts. I love that is is suitable for the eye area also. My make up application has been smoother and longer lasting with no patchiness since using La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra. I found I needed a bit more of this, 3 pumps is a good amount for me but the hand, hygienic pump bottle is easy to use and measure and also means if I have an eczema flareup or pimple breakout I am not contaminating the bottle by dipping my fingers in. I will continue to use this and recommend it to other with sensitive skin.

I have dry, eczema prone skin. This moisturiser was fabulous - I thought there was a lid on the pump and tried to get it off but it WAS the pump itself! Very hygienic and I noticed that the product was contained in a clear bag inside the bottle too (I guess to prevent any excess oxygen exposure). Bonus points for that.
The pump releases very thin streams of product but two pumps were enough for my face and neck. The texture is great - a small amount glides over your skin easily and creates a nice moisture barrier. There was no tightness, no stinging, and the itch was definitely reduced as well. Overall I’m very impressed with this product.
Tips: You only need a small amount.
The lightweight feel of this moisturiser belies just how powerful it is. It's super absorbent and skin simply drinks it in. I found it left my face feeling plump and moisturised. In the morning, it was perfect under sunscreen and then makeup. It left my skin with just the right amount of dewiness and the lack of fragrance made it feel like I wasn't wearing anything at all- just how I like it!
As someone with quite finicky skin, I wasn't nervous to try this product; I knew it had none of the ingredients that my skin could kick up a fuss about. No alcohol, perfumes, parabens, lanolin, colourants, basically no nasties. After a week of daily use, I've had no adverse reactions, and for me, that's a win!
The ultra-hermetic packaging means that it stays fresh right to the last drop- and that no product is left behind. This is important if you're going to spend close to $50 on a face cream.
The claim that this cream 'intensely hydrates' is, in my opinion, a slight stretch. At night, I still layer a heavier cream over the top and during the day, I've noticed a couple of pesky dry patches hanging around.
On the whole, I love this cream and it's one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to my nearest and dearest. If you have super dry and needy skin like mine, this works as a great base to build upon.
Tips: Don't be afraid to use more than one pump! Two did the trick for me.
This face cream comes in a transparent sealed pump bottle that can twist to lock and seals from germs so harsh preservatives aren't needed. The bottle is practical but still looks expensive and nice. It's perfect for travelling as it seals to prevent leakage and not bulky.
I have sensitive, dry, eczema-prone skin that is prone to clogged pores/breakouts. This face cream goes on very smoothly and absorbs quickly without any greasy residue. I've been using it for just over a week now and it hasn't caused any more clogged pores. It's also very moisturising but not heavy and shiny so would be suitable for any skin type.
This cream contains squalane oil which I've been raving about for a while now - for me it's a miracle oil and the only oil my face can tolerate without getting irritated. It's found naturally in the skin so it absorbs easily and doesn't feel greasy, but is very silky and moisturising.
The only downside to this face cream is the price - $45 for 40mL. I use 2 pumps for my face (around pea size) and haven't seen a reduction in product yet, so it may last a while. If it doesn't last long enough to justify the high price then I may switch back to the cheaper option - nivea soft cream + squalane oil!
Tips: Apply a pea sized amount to the face and neck (morning and night) and after use twist the cap to seal from germs.
One downfall of having sensitive skin is trying to find products that I can use on a daily basis that wont negatively effect my super sensitive skin.
I'm so pleased this moisturiser passed the test. This is an absolutely fabulous product! The pump bottle is super cute and its easy to access the moisturiser. There is a light scent to it - which I love. Its lightweight and rubs in well. Instantly my skin feels very hydrated and healthy.
During the time that I have been using this moisturiser I have had no skin irritation at all. I swear they are spot on with this formula
Don't let the price tag fool you - This moisturiser is gold for anyone who has very sensitive skin!
I have really been loving this! I have dry (sometimes combo) skin which can be quite sensitive at times and this has been sooo lovely on my skin! It soaks in nice and quick and leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and leaves a nice glowing effect on my skin which looks great alone but also with makeup applied over top. I love how this wasn't oily on the skin and how quickly is soaked in.
The pump on this is great and I feel like it lets out a good amount of product, not too much but not too little, just perfect - although I am still trying to figure out how many pumps I need for my face, some days I have been needing a little more, but in saying that I think I'm just loving it so much that I want to just slather it all on haha.
Overall, I have really enjoyed this and will happily keep using!
This has a sight chemical smell when it's first applied and is too greasy looking to wear as a day cream.
It is vey hydrating and I like that it can be used on the eye contour as well as so many moisturisers can't be.
I think this cream would be great for eczema or psoriasis sufferers but otherwise the price is too much just for a moisturiser.
When I received this in the mail to trial I was super confused. The box had a lot of writing, in both English and French, but I couldn't figure out what the product actually WAS. I suspected it was moisturiser, but it wasn't until I went on BR to check the reviews that I was able to confirm I was right. Though the company is obviously proud of being bi-lingual and having fancy-sounding ingredients, it is a bit of a flaw that nowhere on the packaging does it say 'this is moisturiser. It goes on your face.'
The second thing I noticed about this product was the size vs price. The bottle was a modest 40ml, but the price (BR told me) was $45! I think this probably makes this the most expensive-per-ml moisturiser I've ever tried.
With this knowledge I was extremely dubious about the product. However, things picked up from there.
When I opened the box, I found the product has a very easy turn system to lock or unlock, which was practical and easy to use.
I get very dry skin, so I would be generous, using two or three pumps on my face and another on my neck. It absorbed quickly, leaving my skin soft, with no greasiness or white patches where you missed rubbing in a spot.
This brand makes a big deal about being suitable for sensitive skin. I didn't think I was going to be testing this too much as my skin is usually ok with the products I try, but it just so happens I got sick with a cold while testing this. I wasn't caring for my skin as well as I should and it got dried out, which always makes it more sensitive, especially around my raw, red nose. Usually this would mean my skin, especially my nose, would sting when the product was applied, and I would maybe even get redness or stinging on my cheeks. However this moisturiser remained gentle and hydrating without the sting factor. This has been an absolute blessing.
While I don't think I can justify repurchasing such an expensive product for my face as I do have cheaper options that I know I don't react to, if you usually have problems with your skin + products this is a very sensible option for you. And hey - maybe my 'too small' will be your 'convenience sized'!
Tips: I found this worked well under makeup as my BB cream happily sat on top of this moisturiser.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial this skincare brand. This is not a skincare brand I had heard of before, so I was curious to try it.
La Roche-Posay is a French brand that is made in France. The main language on the bottle is French, but there are English directions written on the back of the bottle, and on the box it comes in. The name also seems to be written in braille on the boxes’ side.
The bottle and the box are both white with black lettering and blue accents. The cream comes in a clear white pump bottle, and the cream inside is white. The bottle is 40ml.
This cream is designed for very sensitive, easily irritated and allergic skin. The directions on the bottle say to apply to your face and neck in the morning and evening. On the box it says the cream can also be applied to the “eyes’ contours” and that it intensely hydrates and soothes, reducing skin’s sensitivity. This cream is also preservative-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free, alcohol-free, colorant-free and lanolin-free.
My eyes and skin are very sensitive and easily irritated. This cream lived up to its promise and did not irritate my skin. It has no discernible scent, and it is easy to pump out of the bottle. It absorbs well, and is non-greasy. It feels so gentle on my skin.
I think this is a great option if you are looking for a higher end skin product that does not irritate your skin.
This moisturiser is intensely hydrating and makes your skin feel and look clearer after a few uses. It is free of parabens, alcohol, fragrance, lanolin, colorants and preservatives so is great for itchy sensitive skin. It glides on smoothly and doesn't require a lot as it goes a long way and feels light when applied. It is a little pricey but as you don't need a lot, I think it is quite comparable with other high quality facial moisturisers. I would definitely use again!
Tips: You don't need to use a lot and works well in conjunction with the LRP ultra eye contour cream
