The packaging is minimal and simple. Both the box and bottle have pretty good info on them. This comes in a pump bottle with a lockable top, so would be good for travel with no wastage when you lock and unlock the top. It is thick and creamy with minimal scent, and soaked into my skin quickly without feeling greasy. As a plus this can also be used on your eye area. The redness in my cheeks has reduced slightly and I no longer get angry, itchy, red patches. My skin also looks firmer. This kept my skin hydrated all day. After using for almost two weeks the bottle still has a lot in it so I think would last quite a while. This is out of my price range but would consider buying if it was on special.

Tips: A little goes a long way.
I do not have sensitive skin but I love this product. It leaves your skin with the perfect glow that is just right as its not greasy. The moisturiser its self has a silky texture and glides onto your skin. It also helped with my rosacea.
Having never heard of La Roche-Posay before this trial I had no idea what to expect from either this or the eye cream that I also received.
The packaging has a lot of French but dont't let that cinfuse you, there's english instructions in there and also some pretty cool info printed on the inside of the box.
I cant say enough about how awesome the bottles are that this product comes in. The twist top locks nicely, perfect for travelling or even putting away in the toilet bag. Inside the 40ml bottle is a sealed plastic bag that shrinks down as the moisturiser is dispensed , prevented any oxygen contamination! I'm a huge fan of a dispenser bottle - no fingers and no nasty germs!
The moisturiser itself is light, non scented and applied easily to my skin, absorbing quickly. At first I needed 3 sometimes 4 pumps but as the week went on I found 2 was enough for both face and neck.
My foundation sat nicely on top of this moisturiser, in fact I had a couple of comments within 2 or 3 days of using this and the eyecream asking if I'd changed my makeup!
While the price tag may make this out of reach for some - I'd certainly recommend spending the extra coin - especially if your skin is even slightly sensitive as there are no nasties in this to further inflame your skin.
Tips: Make sure you apply to the neck area in an upward motion, and use any leftovers on the tops your hands for a quick treat for dry skin.
When I received this in the mail to trial I was super confused. The box had a lot of writing, in both English and French, but I couldn't figure out what the product actually WAS. I suspected it was moisturiser, but it wasn't until I went on BR to check the reviews that I was able to confirm I was right. Though the company is obviously proud of being bi-lingual and having fancy-sounding ingredients, it is a bit of a flaw that nowhere on the packaging does it say 'this is moisturiser. It goes on your face.'
The second thing I noticed about this product was the size vs price. The bottle was a modest 40ml, but the price (BR told me) was $45! I think this probably makes this the most expensive-per-ml moisturiser I've ever tried.
With this knowledge I was extremely dubious about the product. However, things picked up from there.
When I opened the box, I found the product has a very easy turn system to lock or unlock, which was practical and easy to use.
I get very dry skin, so I would be generous, using two or three pumps on my face and another on my neck. It absorbed quickly, leaving my skin soft, with no greasiness or white patches where you missed rubbing in a spot.
This brand makes a big deal about being suitable for sensitive skin. I didn't think I was going to be testing this too much as my skin is usually ok with the products I try, but it just so happens I got sick with a cold while testing this. I wasn't caring for my skin as well as I should and it got dried out, which always makes it more sensitive, especially around my raw, red nose. Usually this would mean my skin, especially my nose, would sting when the product was applied, and I would maybe even get redness or stinging on my cheeks. However this moisturiser remained gentle and hydrating without the sting factor. This has been an absolute blessing.
While I don't think I can justify repurchasing such an expensive product for my face as I do have cheaper options that I know I don't react to, if you usually have problems with your skin + products this is a very sensible option for you. And hey - maybe my 'too small' will be your 'convenience sized'!
Tips: I found this worked well under makeup as my BB cream happily sat on top of this moisturiser.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial this skincare brand. This is not a skincare brand I had heard of before, so I was curious to try it.
La Roche-Posay is a French brand that is made in France. The main language on the bottle is French, but there are English directions written on the back of the bottle, and on the box it comes in. The name also seems to be written in braille on the boxes’ side.
The bottle and the box are both white with black lettering and blue accents. The cream comes in a clear white pump bottle, and the cream inside is white. The bottle is 40ml.
This cream is designed for very sensitive, easily irritated and allergic skin. The directions on the bottle say to apply to your face and neck in the morning and evening. On the box it says the cream can also be applied to the “eyes’ contours” and that it intensely hydrates and soothes, reducing skin’s sensitivity. This cream is also preservative-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free, alcohol-free, colorant-free and lanolin-free.
My eyes and skin are very sensitive and easily irritated. This cream lived up to its promise and did not irritate my skin. It has no discernible scent, and it is easy to pump out of the bottle. It absorbs well, and is non-greasy. It feels so gentle on my skin.
I think this is a great option if you are looking for a higher end skin product that does not irritate your skin.
I have used a couple of la Roche-posay products prior to this review; and really enjoyed them! Their effaclear face wash is my holy grail so I was interested in seeing what a mainly ‘one brand’ routine would look like for me.
This product is part of their ‘ultra sensitive skin‘ line which have no fragrance to them, and a nice ‘medicinal’ look to their packaging - think luxe laboratory/fancy spa styles. I like that they are both in a pump bottle, not sticking your fingers in to a whole jar is always quite nice!
This moisturiser is a little intense for me, as I have a very oily tzone. So I have been using this in the evening as a night cream, which has been working well for me - I have noticed a difference in the dryer areas around my hairline, which are responding well to a thicker moisturiser. I’ve also used this on my hands where I have some quite dry patches that I usually use steroid cream on, and it has helped with softening them and didn’t cause any additional irritation to the area.
I do not think I would repurchase this as it is too heavy for me, and I am lazy and like to have a moisturiser I can use at all times of the day. This would be perfect for very sensitive dry skin.
Tips: According to the bottle, this can also be used in the eye area if you don’t want to splurge on two separate products.
My skin is sensitive and I need to be careful what products I use on it. I've had reactions to the most unexpected things in the past so I tend to use products formulated for sensitive skin. This moisturiser has an almost mousse texture, it's very light and nice to apply to the skin. It sinks into my skin nicely and doesn't leave any residue on my skin. I did not react to this product at all and didn't even get the usual breakout of a few spots like I tend to when changing skincare products. This moisturiser has basically no scent to it. After I had applied it there was no trace of a scent on my fingertips. The packaging is simple and has a twist feature to lock the product for travel. I do quite like this feature and research of the product has shown me that it's specially sealed so that it stays good over time for sensitive skin. I'm not sure if the formulation of this product suited my skin type. I can't discriminate if it was this product or the eye cream but my forehead in particular became very oily after about a week of using these products. My skin is sensitive but not dry and I think it's just a bit too rich and moisturising for my skin. It is a nice product and I did not react to it so it did what it was supposed to! Definitely give this a go if you have sensitive skin. I will be keeping this on hand for future use if I do react to something else to soothe and calm my skin down.
I purchased this on a whim before going overseas as the size was nice for carry on and turns out I love it. It’s a really nice simple moisturiser. I have dry skin but an oily T zone and found this moisturiser was perfect for me. Left my skin feeling well moisturised and hydrated, didn’t cause any irritation or break outs. Would repurchase
The Toleriane Moisturiser helped with my redness and dry patches but I also developed a minor skin breakout several days of continual usage of this product. I noticed how my skin feels dewy moments after application which I guess is okay considering I have very dry and dull skin. However, there’s also a strange scent to it which I am not a fan of.
The pump applicator is very good, easy to use and completely hygienic as you can easily twist the cap in order to close the bottle.
This moisturiser has a light consistency and not heavy on the face which is a good kind of an alternative primer or foundation base. I would appreciate it more if it has SPF so I won't need to apply a sunscreen protection too.
Overall, given the price of this product as well, it's okay but can be better.
This face cream comes in a transparent sealed pump bottle that can twist to lock and seals from germs so harsh preservatives aren't needed. The bottle is practical but still looks expensive and nice. It's perfect for travelling as it seals to prevent leakage and not bulky.
I have sensitive, dry, eczema-prone skin that is prone to clogged pores/breakouts. This face cream goes on very smoothly and absorbs quickly without any greasy residue. I've been using it for just over a week now and it hasn't caused any more clogged pores. It's also very moisturising but not heavy and shiny so would be suitable for any skin type.
This cream contains squalane oil which I've been raving about for a while now - for me it's a miracle oil and the only oil my face can tolerate without getting irritated. It's found naturally in the skin so it absorbs easily and doesn't feel greasy, but is very silky and moisturising.
The only downside to this face cream is the price - $45 for 40mL. I use 2 pumps for my face (around pea size) and haven't seen a reduction in product yet, so it may last a while. If it doesn't last long enough to justify the high price then I may switch back to the cheaper option - nivea soft cream + squalane oil!
Tips: Apply a pea sized amount to the face and neck (morning and night) and after use twist the cap to seal from germs.
