First impressions, simple sophisticated packing and cute little pottle. A little goes a long way. I first decided to try this after having a hot shower, it made my skin smell amazing. Slightly greasy at first but absorbed into my skin easily after I massaged it in. I suffer from quite dry skin in winter and this was the best moisturiser/balm that has worked! Only downside I found was it was too oily for my face but that's probably due to my combination skin. Also I've found it helps with the healing process with scars and scrapes.

Tips: Works a treat on dry elbows and knees
The Lakoko balm was one of the most hydrating products I have used on my constantly dry lips. Unlike other chapsticks, my lips felt hydrated for a good 1-2 hours before requiring re-application. Although I solely used it as a lip balm, it can also be used on the face, body, and hair. What put me off this product was the taste that I acquired in my mouth using it as a lip balm - not very pleasant at all! Would I buy this product? Although it worked well, at $25/30 mL for a product that left an unpleasant taste in my mouth I probably wouldn't.
I'm generally not all that into multi-purpose balms, but this is one that you've just got to love!
This is quite a light balm, it's soft and not waxy at all. The fragrance is very aromatic, it smells quite fruity in a natural kind of way.
Primarily, I use this as a lip balm. I tend to have issues with crusty lips, which i've not experienced since applying this balm to my lips at least once a day. It also provides your lips with a healthy looking slight sheen/glow, and makes them feel super hydrated and soft.
I've also used this balm on my wee boy, for bruises, sun burn, dry skin and mosquito bites, all for whitch it seems to soothe.
This is such a lovely to use and effective multi-purpose balm, unfortunately though I feel that you don't get a lot of it for the price. However I like it so much that i'd probably repurchase.
I had never seen this product before until I got it in my BBBE. I loved the smell of it straight away.i always get dry lips so I used it on my lips it felt so nice giving my lips a shine. I would buy this again it's a must have in my handbag.
I received this product in the Summer Time box and fell in love. It is so hydrating and nourishing, and the light scent is gorg! It's a great size, so I can chuck it in my purse to hydrate my lips or hands when I'm out. I usually use it at night, after giving myself a wee facial massage with it. I have also used it on areas of eczema and it soothes any red and irritated spots. It's quite expensive so I would have to weigh up whether to get this or another product, however it's lasted for ages!
Tips: Keep this out of the sun, in your purse is perfect!
This was definitely a beautiful surprise in the BBBE box. The smell is gorgeous. The feel of the product is very nice on my skin, its melts quickly and absorbs well. It was one of those products I kept in my car so I had it when I ever needed it, the flip side however is that it does melt. I used this product on my lips, hair, hands, legs and feet.
Tips: If using on your hair definitely use sparingly. A little goes a long way
This smells divine and is all-natural and so nourishing. I purchased this while I was doing my makeup artistry course as all the teachers raved about it and I totally see why. I now have it in my kit and use it to give all my client's lips some hydration prior to their makeup application. My kids also love this so I can one in the bathroom for them to use every morning to protect and nourish their lips.
I was really happy to land a spot on the trial team for this balm. I haven't used many balms and being an all natural balm it was right up my alley. Lakoko comes in different sized jars, the size I was given for this trial was a 30ml jar. The balm comes in dark brown glass jars with white and light blue paper with the name and a bit of information about the balm. The jar looks nice on my beauty table. When I first opened the jar I wasn't a fan of the scent since it smells like lavender and I'm not into lavender, but now I detect for lime and orange notes at the end so the scent has grown on me a bit. I love that this balm is all natural - coconut oil, kukui nut oil, cera alba, white beeswax, vitamin E, lavender oil, and essential oils of cedarwood, mandarin and lime. Due to the high coconut oil content when my room is cold, the coconut oil is solid and the balm is difficult to get out of the pot and I really have to dig it in and then rub to get it on my skin. When my room is warm and I have had the heater on for awhile it it's soft and easy to spread on my skin.
The main use I had for this balm was my eczema patches on my hands. A flyer that was included in the parcel with the balm suggested using it to diminish ageing on the backs of your hands. I've been applying the balm at least twice a day to where my eczema is flaring up on my hands and while the bumps aren't gone yet my skin is definitely less itchy and the patches haven't spread. It definitely soothes the itching and helps to calm down the eczema. I don't think my hands look more youthful yet but they are more moisturized. The balm doesn't absorb and leaves a protective layer on my skin. The moisture stays on my hands even if I wash them but not through multiple hand washes. I definitely will keep using it as a treatment for my hands and eczema.
I have also applied very tiny bit of the balm to my dry ends. Since my hair is fine I was concerned that using this as a hair treatment would weigh down my hair and leave it greasy and limp, but instead it absorbed into my ends and made them less dry and frizzy. I didn't apply it to my lengths though just my ends.
I've also used this as a lip balm and it gives my lips enough moisture to last a couple hours. While it doesn't beat my favorite lip balms, it's worked better than some cheap chapsticks that left a waxy layer on my lips but didn't really sink in or moisturize. I'm not used to putting something lavender scented on my lips though as I'm used to my lip balms having more yummy scents. But it's nice to know that if I lost my lip balm that this could stand in for a few days until I was able to find out replace it. I don't know how quickly I'll use this jar of balm up but I definitely do like that it's all natural and it's multi-purpose. I definitely will be considering purchasing it when I run out.
Tips: If it's cold it's pretty solid so you'll need to rub it a bit to get some out. If you are going to use it for your hair use the tiniest amount rub in your palms to liquify it and apply it too the ends. Less is more when it comes to your hair. I can't talk for coarser thicker hair since my hair is quite fine, but if you apply too much and apply it every day it can build up and get a bit lanky. Luckily due the coconut oil it does shampoo out nicely and leave my ends soft. If you use this as a hand treatment keep it to the backs of your hands since it doesn't sink into your skin much or use it before bed.
Knowing that I had a limited time to use this before submitting my review I popped it into my bag and carried it around with me so that it was easier to remember, it's small size made this perfect to carry around, not too small to get lost in my Mary Poppins bag but not too big to weigh me down. It's described as a nourishing balm suitable for all skin types and with many uses. After a particularly sore eyebrow wax I smoothed some Lakoko balm on to the area, it had a really lovely consistency and was quite cooling (without being too strong), I applied it a few times over the course of the day and the redness subsided. I also used it on the backs of my hands and around my nose, my skin is really suffering in the South Island winter, I think the balm is maybe a little too oily for me to put all over my face as I am sensitive to breakouts but I might try it one day and see if it soothes. I also used this as a luxurious lip balm and loved it. Overall I really liked this product, how versatile it was and hand bag friendly made it so easy to carry around with me. It has a lovely subtle scent and will last me a while as a little bit goes a long way. I am flying over seas tomorrow and it is pretty much the only beauty product I'll be taking on the plane with me!
Tips: Put it in your bag and carry it around with you, you never know when you might need it!
The first thing you notice when you open the jar is the overwhelming scent of coconut and botanicals. A really beautiful scent. So far I have mostly used the balm as a moisturiser and hand cream. It is very hydrating and the scent lingers long after it has been applied. The balm can be used for many purposes so I am looking forward to trying out all the other uses for it.
Tips: Warm it up with your hands before using it as a mousturiser
