I received this product in the Summer Time box and fell in love. It is so hydrating and nourishing, and the light scent is gorg! It's a great size, so I can chuck it in my purse to hydrate my lips or hands when I'm out. I usually use it at night, after giving myself a wee facial massage with it. I have also used it on areas of eczema and it soothes any red and irritated spots. It's quite expensive so I would have to weigh up whether to get this or another product, however it's lasted for ages!
Tips: Keep this out of the sun, in your purse is perfect!
I Love Lakoko Balm and use it in my beauty therapy business facials and massage sessions. As well as using it at home. Its fantastic on the skin as an all over nourishing balm as well as the face - but also I have used it as a hair mask! It doesn't leave the skin "oily" or greasy and the fragrance is Summer and the tropics in a jar! totally recommend
Tips: I use the balm warmed slightly and put through the ends of my very dry and bleached hair - it leaves my hair soft and no longer fluffy!
This smells divine and is all-natural and so nourishing. I purchased this while I was doing my makeup artistry course as all the teachers raved about it and I totally see why. I now have it in my kit and use it to give all my client's lips some hydration prior to their makeup application. My kids also love this so I can one in the bathroom for them to use every morning to protect and nourish their lips.
This is a great miracle balm. I literally use it for everything! Works for nappy rash, eczema, dry spots, sunburn etc.. Rich balm, and you only need a little bit at a time. This is something that i believe everyone needs in the house as it’s so versatile.
I was lucky enough to receive this to trial and it arrived in my letter box on the day my first baby arrived, after several days in the hospital i was able to start using it when we got home. All i can say it's amazing, i've been using it on my boobs as you can imagine first time mum im having some issues with her latching and this balm has really helped in repairing them, my baby doesn't mind the taste either, it doesn't interfere with my milk smell. I've also used this on her stomach where she's getting a rash from the nappy band, again works wonders. I love the fact it's a soft balm and easy to apply to sensitive areas, it doesn't firm up too much and softens if in a warm place due to the coconut oil.
I totally recommend this for anyone needing a one stop shop treatment, the scent is nice, not over powering and works wonders.
Tips: A little goes a long way and also great for cracked heels and dry elbows. It really is a magic balm
I was really happy to land a spot on the trial team for this balm. I haven't used many balms and being an all natural balm it was right up my alley. Lakoko comes in different sized jars, the size I was given for this trial was a 30ml jar. The balm comes in dark brown glass jars with white and light blue paper with the name and a bit of information about the balm. The jar looks nice on my beauty table. When I first opened the jar I wasn't a fan of the scent since it smells like lavender and I'm not into lavender, but now I detect for lime and orange notes at the end so the scent has grown on me a bit. I love that this balm is all natural - coconut oil, kukui nut oil, cera alba, white beeswax, vitamin E, lavender oil, and essential oils of cedarwood, mandarin and lime. Due to the high coconut oil content when my room is cold, the coconut oil is solid and the balm is difficult to get out of the pot and I really have to dig it in and then rub to get it on my skin. When my room is warm and I have had the heater on for awhile it it's soft and easy to spread on my skin.
The main use I had for this balm was my eczema patches on my hands. A flyer that was included in the parcel with the balm suggested using it to diminish ageing on the backs of your hands. I've been applying the balm at least twice a day to where my eczema is flaring up on my hands and while the bumps aren't gone yet my skin is definitely less itchy and the patches haven't spread. It definitely soothes the itching and helps to calm down the eczema. I don't think my hands look more youthful yet but they are more moisturized. The balm doesn't absorb and leaves a protective layer on my skin. The moisture stays on my hands even if I wash them but not through multiple hand washes. I definitely will keep using it as a treatment for my hands and eczema.
I have also applied very tiny bit of the balm to my dry ends. Since my hair is fine I was concerned that using this as a hair treatment would weigh down my hair and leave it greasy and limp, but instead it absorbed into my ends and made them less dry and frizzy. I didn't apply it to my lengths though just my ends.
I've also used this as a lip balm and it gives my lips enough moisture to last a couple hours. While it doesn't beat my favorite lip balms, it's worked better than some cheap chapsticks that left a waxy layer on my lips but didn't really sink in or moisturize. I'm not used to putting something lavender scented on my lips though as I'm used to my lip balms having more yummy scents. But it's nice to know that if I lost my lip balm that this could stand in for a few days until I was able to find out replace it. I don't know how quickly I'll use this jar of balm up but I definitely do like that it's all natural and it's multi-purpose. I definitely will be considering purchasing it when I run out.
Tips: If it's cold it's pretty solid so you'll need to rub it a bit to get some out. If you are going to use it for your hair use the tiniest amount rub in your palms to liquify it and apply it too the ends. Less is more when it comes to your hair. I can't talk for coarser thicker hair since my hair is quite fine, but if you apply too much and apply it every day it can build up and get a bit lanky. Luckily due the coconut oil it does shampoo out nicely and leave my ends soft. If you use this as a hand treatment keep it to the backs of your hands since it doesn't sink into your skin much or use it before bed.
As someone who has combination skin and frequently gets blemishes, I was sceptical of the idea that oil based products such as this could actually work for me.
Having used this product for a week or so, I have begun to understand the hype. I used it last thing at night after thoroughly cleansing. A little goes a long way, the balm is quite hard but melts as you apply it. By morning it had nearly all absorbed and I found that my skin felt better than normal after cleansing - not so tight.
The main attraction for me was the smell of this product. It contains lavender, which aside from smelling wonderful, helps you drift off to sleep.
Tips: Apply sparingly or you may feel like an oil spill. Apply at night. The smell is quite strong and can irritate your eyes if they are sensitive to such things, so I would recommend steering clear of the eye area when applying.
Thank you Beauty review for making me be a part of the Trial team for the Lakoko multi purpose balm, I am all for finding out if things are as good as they advertise and this balm had me surprised in many ways.
When I received this, I didn't realize it would be so small, my first thought was I would finish this within 1 week of use but was I wrong! Once I got past the size of the jar, I saw how beautifully simple the packaging was, the 30ml glass jar has a heavy luxury feel, its something about glass objects that give off a luxury vibe to them. The scent is quite unique, you can smell the coconut oil, a hint of citrus like the citronella candles and lavender, it has an uplifting relaxing effect.
While trialing this I used it as much as I could, and I used it a lot! Ive used maybe a teaspoon in the time span of a week and a half and Im impressed with how much is left.
My lips and nose have suffered from the cold windy weather so they were perfect things to use the balm on. I use the tip of my nail to scoop some out and using my finger tips heat up the balm before applying it. It isn't greasy unlike other multi purpose balms which I really like, it settles on to your skin very well. This has helped keep the dryness on my nose at bay but it hasn't helped my dry chapped lips, its only fixed the dryness of my lips for 10-15 minutes before I need to reapply more, I can see how this could be costly as the balm isn't cheap so I use a lip balm for my lips and the Lakoko balm for everything else.
It has been a favorite to add to my hair, it moisturizes the ends and gives a soft natural looking shine to my hair. Ive been applying this to my sons eczema on his cheek since I received this and it has nearly disappeared a week after applying the balm daily.
I would repurchase this, infact I will be getting one to keep in my handbag, overall it is a great multi use balm I just wish it would help with my dry lips, but it does help with everything else.
I'm generally not all that into multi-purpose balms, but this is one that you've just got to love!
This is quite a light balm, it's soft and not waxy at all. The fragrance is very aromatic, it smells quite fruity in a natural kind of way.
Primarily, I use this as a lip balm. I tend to have issues with crusty lips, which i've not experienced since applying this balm to my lips at least once a day. It also provides your lips with a healthy looking slight sheen/glow, and makes them feel super hydrated and soft.
I've also used this balm on my wee boy, for bruises, sun burn, dry skin and mosquito bites, all for whitch it seems to soothe.
This is such a lovely to use and effective multi-purpose balm, unfortunately though I feel that you don't get a lot of it for the price. However I like it so much that i'd probably repurchase.
