Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate Review

First off, I loved the packaging, the easy twist self-filling eye dropper and the sleek silver to ombré bottle. The scent was very mild and pleasant. The serum was quite fluid and I found I needed 2 drops rather than the one as it just wasn't enough.

The cap was a little tricky as the bottom silver band wasn't stuck fast to the bottle and I didn't realise the cap needed to 'click' into place to close properly. It didn't matter as the seal was good enough that I didn't lose any of the product when I stored it on its side in a draw.

I used this product daily since receiving it for review (2.5 weeks) and I can't say I have seen any results even though it claims results can be seen as early as 7 days.

Regardless, I enjoy the pamper pseudo spa experience and its a little bit of luxury for my tired end-of-day face and makes my skin feel great. I am hanging in there for results.

I didn't hate this product, but I didn't particularly like it.

My skin type is normal, and I did find this product to be quite strong and leave my skin feeling slightly tingly. The serum itself is very lightweight and absorbed into the skin quickly. Overall results after using an entire bottle: skin was softer, smoother and brighter. The packaging is really nice, the product feels luxurious to hold and the dropper works really well to deposit a perfect amount of product.

Overall takeaway: The price is very high, and I think there are better products on the market offering very similar results, for a lot less money.

So, the price gets me every time when I see this in my vanity, and it never ceases to amaze me that they can charge this much. It feels nice, sure, but I haven't noticed any major changes in my skin, I use other serums and moisturizers that do the same thing for way less. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this.

I consider myself a late bloomer when it comes to skincare, especially if it is more than just wash/moisturise, so I was super excited to trial the Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate. Being closer to 40 than anything else it is definitely time to start being proactive about skincare and this product sounded like what I needed. Firstly the presentation - beautiful! From the box to the bottle, it is all presented in an elegant way. The bottle itself is not just nice to look at but it also has a self measuring dropper. Basically when you screw the dropper/lid back in place it re-loads with its next dose - this means that every time you use it you have the perfect amount to use. This system has worked 99% of the time, it didn't re-load one time but possibly i hadn't quite clicked the lid into place. My only negative comment on the bottle would be that because of the coloring I wonder how easy it will be to tell when the product is running low. The concentrate itself is silky smooth to apply and absorbs nicely into the skin. For the first 10-12 days I applied it as directly, morning and night, and I definitely noticed a difference in my skin - it looked younger but I can't pinpoint exactly what the change was, maybe fresher, more "plump". However I then noticed that my skin was starting to feel almost oily, like it couldn't absorb the product properly. So I dropped down to night time only for a few days and my skin seemed to even out again. After nearly 3 weeks of using it, I haven't noticed any more changes to my skin - but from reading the directions I really feel like you need to use the whole bottle before making a final decision.

It was wonderful to get the opportunity to try this product. I love Lancome.

This product comes in a very classy black and silver box. Inside is a lovely bottle, black with white writing and a silver top. It looks very sleek and space-age. It has a screw top that opens to reveal a dropper. You press the top and the dropper releases the product.

The product is a cloudy gel-like substance, and when applied it is pleasantly thick and soft. It has a smell I'm not so keen on. To my senses it has a bit of a chemical undertone.

I have been using the product twice daily after cleansing. It leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh. The product claims that it targets the visible signs of fatigue to help restore skin's luminosity while you sleep, for youthful, radiant complexion.My skin does look even and fresh in the morning and has improved, but as yet youthful and radiant might be a stretch. I'm impressed with this product though, it is very good. Would I use it again? yes but it is outside my budget unfortunately. For anyone else, if you get the chance to try it then I do recommend it.

I was really pleased to be invited to test this concentrate. It comes in a glass bottle so don't drop it on your tiles. Has a very faint pleasant smell. The dropper has the correct amount for you to put onto your palm and then transfer to you face. I massaged it into my skin and made sure to cover the whole face and under the chin. It is actually a lot and covered my face very well. I let it dry before I put on my moisturiser as it takes a moment to soak into your skin. I have been using morning and night. My skin is looking really good and is very soft. I would use this product again as there is a lot of serum in the bottle and my skin soaks it up.

I have been lucky enough to be sent this to review! I love the packaging it's very smart and different! The applicator that dispenses the exact right amount is awesome, and the wee push button is cool. The smell isnt the best its not bad just not descript. I can't really place it, I almost think pva glue. The texture is nice, and the instructions to use helpful. It drys out on your face quickly to soak in so that's a bonus. I have quite dry skin and I wad worried it would make me break out but it didn't so I was super suprised about that. Im not sure I saw a dramatic change in my skin in the 10 or so days ive had it but will keep using to see how I get on.

This was such an awesome trial to be a part of. I’ve wanted to try Lancôme for a while now and I wasn’t disappointed!

The bottle is beautiful quality and the way you twist the lid to load the serum in to the dropper is great. I have to admit the amount it gave felt slightly to much to me but I rolled with it!

The serum itself feels silky and glides on beautifully. It isn’t scented which I like. It absorbed really quickly in to my skin and left no residue or sticky feel, it feels really lovely and luxurious.

The routine of applying this felt really self indulgent and my skin was nice and glowy afterwards. The whole procedure of using this was lovely.

So the important part! The results! I definitely noticed a difference in skin tone. The serum absolutely reduced my red areas and I love it for that alone. Overall my skin feels softer and I can’t wait to continue using this to see if it smooths out some fine lines.

I love this serum, I will absolutely use the bottle up and at this stage intend to rebuy!!
