I really liked the colour of the tan once i applied it, took on a nice natural appeal. It took approximately 30 minutes for my tan to appear, which allows you to begin with your tan while applying your makeup. Easy to apply, i liked how it is foam however using a cream in comparison does give a more even effect. I have applied the foam with a moisturiser as well and I still found I got the results I was after.
Tips: Could be applied with a small amount of moisturiser also
After years of fake tanning, and far too many products, I have narrowed it down to mousse fake tanners being my favourite. The Le Tan Foaming Mousse Self Tan was one of only a few left on my list to try. I love the Le Tan Instant Self Tanning Spray, so I had high hopes for an even, deep, golden tan.
The packaging is simple and standard of foam tanning products. It is best kept upright in a cupboard, rather than in a drawer, as it will leak a little by the time you get to the end of the bottle. I wouldn't recommend travelling with this product, and if you do make sure it is in a snaplock bag.
I applied this product with a tanning mitt, just as I have done with other product for years. It contains a colour guard, which means that the colour is instant so you can see where you are going, and whether you have missed any spots. I love this as you are almost guaranteed a flawless tan, and you can see (and then fix) any streaks or spots that you have missed. I applied a generous amount of product, let it dry, and then left it on overnight. It dried reasonably quickly, although I wear black PJs so I can get dressed pretty quickly.
The next morning the colour guard washes off in the shower, and a flawless, deep tan was left behind. My skin didn't appear dry, nor hydrated, and the tan was even across my body, with no issues around my feet or hands. The only downside to this tan (and it is possibly only noticed by those who have used other fake tans) is that it is a little too green for my preference. Many fake tans will have a green base, to ensure that the tan isn't orange, but usually it isn't noticeable on the skin. This green tinge lasted for the duration of the fake tan. It didn't bother me, and nobody else could notice, but it will prevent me from repurchasing this fake tan in the future.
Tips: If you find that Bondi Sands or other green based tans are still too orange, you may like the Le Tan mousse. Apply with a mitt.
I have always been scared of self tanning. I have seen and heard of waaaay too many horror stories about people turning orange / streaking. But honestly, it is far too expensive getting spray tans all the time so I decided to give this mousse a go after seeing it being highly spoken of.
First impression was the simple but clear packaging. The guidelines on the back are very easy to follow.
The mousse comes out of the pump very easily and it doesn't splatter everywhere (unless you are reaching the end of the bottle). It has a faint bronze colour which helps to see where you are spreading it. It smells quite strongly and my room smells of it for a few days but it isn't an unpleasant smell. It is quite coconutty mixed with the tan smell.
The colour is nice and brown on my skin. I use the Deep Bronze shade. I apply it twice (apply once, let dry then apply again) and it lasts for a long time. My skin looks so sunkissed and it doesn't have a green tinge like it can on other people.
It isn't streaky and I have an even, bronze glow.
I also bought the Le Tan mitt which I believe is fantastic. It doesn't shed or leak tan onto my hand underneath.
I am now a faithful self tanner and I don't need to spray tan again!
Tips: I always apply mine about an hour before bed so it has a chance to soak in and I can wash off the "smell" in the morning. It says to avoid water (baths, showers and swimming etc) for 6 hours after application.
I love the Te tan self tanning products, I have tried a lot of them. I prefer the red one so that I don't need to apply as many coats. I'm not as big a fan of the mousse as some of their other tans. They have a good colour tint so it is easy to apply so it's easier to see where your applying it in order together less streaks. I would apply at night leaving it longer to develop properly together full colour. I always use mits when apply fake dan but felt I've the mousse absorbing into the nit a bit quickly
Le tan is a great product, does give a brown tan rather than an orange one, i do prefer the spray on can rather than the mousse and it applies on better.
Tips: Use a tanning mitt for application!!!!
I've used a lot of fake tanners and I've found that mousse is my preferred method of application.
Le Tan's mousse is one of the better ones I've tried and reasonably priced.
You definitely need to apply it with a mitt as it is dark and staining. As a colour I think it is less orange than others I've tried and almost has a green tinge when applying (but not when dry).
On the skin it probably lasts about 3 showers before it needs topping up. Less if you scrub the skin.
I will use it again.
Easy to apply, I like that it's a mousse as it's easy to see where it has been applied and how much to each area. It takes on a nice natural colour and doesnt smell bad like some others can.
Tips: Exfoliate for a few days before so that it looks at it's best
Didn't like this.A weird smell and a left a greenish colour as it faded. Very odd colour for my skin too.No match here. I usually love a good moose tan product so its a shame.
I don't normally use fake tan but had an event which was begging for me to have a bit of colour. For $15 it was reasonably priced. Just put some gloves on and away you go. Applied in 5 minutes, 2 coats and already felt more tanned. No streaks and no mess. Highly would recommend.
Tips: I exfoliated with coffee grinds beforehand - It made my tan super even!
