I strained by shoulder muscles and was so excited to see these in the supermarket as I thought wow this might ease my pain as heat was one of the only things that gave my shoulder some comfort. UNFORTUNATELY I was sadly disappointed it hardly heated up at all and it felt really odd on my skin - I was really upset. I am just glad that I purchased them when they were on sale so I didn't waste too much money.
The idea behind this product is fantastic and being a person who suffers from period pain every month i was extremely keen to try. Unfortunately it did not live up to what it said it would do. They didn't get warm and didn't help at all!!!!!
I was not impressed with these. I get horrible cramps on the first 2 days of my period so I was excited to try these whilst at work. After sticking the pad to my lower tummy i went about my normal work day. Waiting for the pad to heat up it stayed slightly warm. My hands felt warmer than this. I was expecting heat like a hot water bottle but it was nothing like it. I have one left so I'll give it another try. Hopefully its better
I had heard a few things about this here and there in the BR Forums and around the place, and so when I found them at Countdown for $5ish dollars and I couldn't wait to get my period (who says that!?!) to use them.
I didn't really read the box when I bought so I was disappointed to see only two foil packets. Finally the big red day came and with it the mother of all cramps. I was almost bed ridden but then I remembered I had these things so I dragged my broken body into the bathroom to get one. I ripped open the packaging and as I pulled off the sticky labels off I read the packet.
The sticky patch is, ironically, pad shaped. It's mostly a big square of black under the white protective fabric and two sticky wings on each end. The paper on the sticky's was hard to get off and I ended up ripping the paper several times before getting it off fully. The hot pad heats up in the natural air, and even after all of this I felt no warmth coming off of the heat pad. I stuck it to myself anyway and hoped for the best.
An hour later, I still couldn't feel any heat coming from the hot pad. I carefully pulled the sticky's off, which was mildly uncomfortable in its own, but the pain took my mind off the cramp briefly. I kept it in my pocket but it didn't get any hotter than lukewarm. My cramp required something a bit more than lukewarm, but I don't think I got a dud. I wouldn't buy these again, and I hate to be a hater but I found these absolutely useless.
These were quite a let down. Didn't relieve the pain what so ever. They hardly even felt like they were much warmer than normal body temperature and lost stickiness way to quick
I wanted these to work so.badly, like seriously handy would they be!!!! But I wouldn't waste money on this product again. Didn't get hot, didn't even get warm.. I actually don't think they worked all!
Tips: Don't purchase
I am not a fan, sadly! For someone who gets extreme cramps I was excited to try these, especially for when I am at work and can't walk around with a hottie! I found them to be uncomfortable when stuck (my skin reacted to the sticky) and it wasn't exactly "hot" or even warm. My tummy felt wet where it was stuck on...I ended up taking it off after a couple of hours. I think if it got hotter it would be better, but still think they are overpriced, especially if you are someone who is getting cramps a lot during your time of the month and need something like this a lot.
I got a free sample of these and thought it was a great idea. I get bad cramps so though that it would be good to stick on when I can't carry my hot water bottle around. Unfortunately they didn't do the trick for me. It was slightly warm but after a while my body must've got used to the heat and I could hardly feel it anymore. I wouldn't buy them.
I got a free sample and I'm glad I didn't waste money on these as the heat was very weak and forgotten very quickly (until I stood up and felt the weight pull on my skin) I get really bad discomfort/pain with my period and this did nothing to ease it. I do know that heat does help, just not this product.
Tips: I'll stick to a wheat-bag and getting my kitty to curl up on me and purr :3
